I'm Packed Off To A Boarding School In The Middle Of Nowhere...Oh And I Don't Think They're Humans~57~

Recap From Part 56:

Christine took a little time to think about his suggestion. A barbecue at the rooftop sounded nice indeed, but they would have a lot of trash to clear before the sun comes up. And plenty of dirty dishes to clean too. "I think its better that we don't have a barbecue at the rooftop. I'm thinking of booking a barbecue pit at the nearby park. The pits are just a few meters away from the sandy shores and there are a few toilets near every few pits. I've been there at night before, and I think you all might like it. The windy breeze is something to be enjoyed too."

"Well then, Mrs. Blake, please help us plan this barbecue. I'll be looking forward to it," Sam folded his arms and laid back onto the sofa.

"A barbecue? Really?" Kes bounded down the steps, tugging along an emo looking Kres.

Part 57

"Well, I'm having trouble deciding whether or not to hold it or not, so I'm kinda asking around for your opinions," Christine smiled brightly, determined to make the event a memorable one for Kres. She was a little confident, too, that she would be able to get to the bottom of the matter even if Blake becomes jealous.

"I'd love to have one. Won't you, Kres, baby?" Kes tugged on their hands. "Won't you?"

If anything happened, it was that Christine realized Kres' shoulders were slouching a little. She chose to keep her silence, as it might not mean much. Kres could have been exhausted by the plane ride. Or he had jet lag.

Nick and Zelda made their extraordinary entrance by sliding down the arm support for the stairs. They went crashing down on the ground beside Kes and stood up, smacking each other's butt, bursts of laughter and mischief escaping their lips.

"Wow. Are we having a mass gathering? Why didn't you call us down?" Zelda's squeezed his eyes. "Or are you planning to abandon us? Hmm."

And so Christine repeated to them what was told to Blake and the others, and she waited patiently for their opinions. Well, as the saying goes, the more the merrier.

Finally, by the end of the hour, they agreed on having a BBQ the next night and also decided to order pizzas for their dinner. Of course, because of the remoteness around Christine's house, the pizza man arrived late and they received an extra compensation pizza as a result.

"I never knew there is such thing," Kres murmured, completely unaware at Christine, who was right beside him, overheard him and explained to him the reason why, with him nodding all the way.

~~~The Next Night~~~
"Blake, you ready? You've been in here for quite a while, I've noticed. The guys are ready to go. Are you?" Christine knocked on the bathroom door.
"Give me a minute. I'm almost done."
Christine waited by the door, counting the time as she got bored. At the forty fourth second, the bathroom door opened and Blake stepped through. Upon seeing Christine, he pulled her into a tight hug and began hustling them both down to where the guys were waiting with the food. After setting the burglar alarm, Christine switched off the lights and everyone strolled out of the living room with at least a bag in their hands. She herself carried a Styrofoam box full of beverages like coke and F&N brand of orange and grape fizzy drinks.
They walked in silence with Christine taking the lead, as she was the only one who knew the way to the BBQ pits.
They walked along pavements, twisting and turning until they could see trees and pathways with a few car parks not far away. "Welcome to Pasir Ris Park!" Christine broke the silence with a cheerful tone. "But there's nothing much to see, it's not as nice as it is during the day, but there are some things better than during the day too. That includes having a BBQ party! Wee!"
Excited whispers erupted between the guys, and when Christine turned to see how Kres was faring, she was a little shocked to see him staring gratefully at her.
