I'm packed off to a boarding school in the middle of nowhere...oh and I don't think they're humans~40~
recap from part 39
"You wanna play the games later on?" Blake played with my hair.
"Why not? I'll try to beat you!" I widened my eyes.
The doorbell rang. Blake and I looked at each other. Who could it be? The teacher bringing our food had already came by, so who was it now? Blake put a finger to his lips, then edged towards the door quietly. He peeped through the peephole, then, in a hurry, he opened the door, and a guy who was almost as gorgeous as him came in.
Part 40
Who is he, I wondered. There aren't many guys who have Blake's level of gorgeousness.
The guy extended his hand to me when the door closed. "Hi, my name is Nigel."
"Er. Hi, Nigel," I greeted him unsurely.
"I've been wanting to meet you ever since I've heard about you," he took off his shoes and left it by the door.
"I'm...honored..." I trailed off. Blake was acting a little strange. Then, he grabbed my hand and growled at Nigel. "No more stuff other than that, asshole. You touch her and you'll be fried meat. You get me?"
I-I didn't mean to offend you like that, sorry, Blake."
"Blake, I scolded harshly but in a low tone so that his pride and ego wouldn't be hurt as much. "He's just here for a while, right? And I'm already yours, you don't have to worry so much about losing me, right? I mean, I gave you my heart, and I'm not taking it back unless you really don't love me anymore. Even then, I will still love you as you are. Now, apologize to Nigel."
Blake gritted his teeth angrily, but did what I told him to do, and Nigel accepted his apology.
"Could I use your PA communication system? I know I've got to tell the office about what happened," Nigel asked.
"Yes, of course!" I assured him.
He went over to the buttons inside of the box containing the numbers for the office, and soon, he got connected to the office line. Blake and I strained to hear what was being exchanged between Nigel and the office.
"-yeah, I know, but you all said to only move around in a group, that's what we did, but while walking down the corridor, I suddenly realized that all of them had disappeared, leaving me the only one who is walking in the corridor. I thought that was strange, because at times like this they would inform me where they were going, but this time, I feel that there's something wrong. Can some of you please find them? I'm very worried about them. They're my roommates after all. One more thing, where do I sleep tonight?" There was a pause, then, "okay, I get it. I'll go down this instant." Nigel put down the receiver and addressed us. "Well, I'll get going. Nice to meet you once again, Christine."
I was shocked at his sudden intention to leave. "Wait, Nigel. Where do you have to go?"
"I'll have to go to the office to be quarantined, just in case the virus had spread to me."
"What?!" I couldn't believe it. How could the people in the office suspect he's carrying the virus? He looks fine to me.
"Don't worry. If I'm clear, I'll get to go back to my apartment. Until then, goodbye," Nigel shut the door.
