Recap from part 3:
I watched in disgust at a trail of underwear and boxers near the unknown guy's bed. I'm very sure it had been a long time since he washed them. 'If he doesn't want to wash them, I'll help him wash them seeing he has a bad hygiene attitude,' I thought to myself. Don't get me wrong, when I said I would help him wash, that doesn't mean I'm going to hand wash them for him. Surely there's a washing machine somewhere in every apartment. The funny thing is that I don't even know where the toilet and washing machine is.
I continued packing my things and waited for the 'unknown guy' to come back.
Part 4
(Still Christine's POV)
After a while, I got bored sitting on my bed to wait for him. I was wondering 'why am I so anxious to meet him?' Thankfully I brought myself sources of entertainments along. Do guys really need to to out that long? The time now is already close to midnight, and the door opened. Half anxious and half hopeful, I was happy to see Zelda at the door.
"Christine! You wanna have tea break with us now? Hey! What's that?!"
"Uh...it's a PSP and I'll be happy to have tea break with you all!"
I ran up to him and jumped around. "Yay! Yah'll the best! Let's go now!" My enthusiasm surprised him and he stood rooted to the ground and gaped at me. "Of course!" He unexpectedly carried me up and dumped me over his shoulder and ran out to the others ignoring my shoutings and strugglings.
"If you don't want to keep quiet, this will keep you quiet," he exclaimed evilly. Before I knew what he was doing, he was already tickling me to death. I could do nothing because I was on his shoulder except laugh and squirm about.
Hehes...secret number one: I'm scared of people tickling me. But what he's doing is not making me any quieter. Tears were coming down my cheeks as I laughed harder. In a while, I was passed bridal style to Nick's arms. He bent his head down and touched my nose with his like how a mother would do to her child. It made me blush furiously and warm all over. "You know, sometimes you're like a little baby," he grinned down at me. "Ooo my little baby, I'm bringing you to your food. Don't cry," he cooed which made me blush more. The others around us snickered.
"Hey! I feel like I'm an over-sized baby!" I retorted. "You are," Zelda joined in. "Nick! Put me down! They're all laughing at me! I don't want to be a laughing stock!" I wailed practically as I tried to push Nick away from me. "You're not strong enough!" He laughed. I pouted as if they took away my favourite toy when I was happily playing with it. "Then don't blame me if anything happens to you," I warned him.
Gathering up my strength in my hands, I twisted until half of my body was facing his face ( I would say his chest, but that wouldn't sound appropriate) and attempted to strangle him. Nothing happened. It's like trying to strangle a piece of metal with the diameter and size of Nick's neck. Annoyed, he asked me whether I've finished my 'revenge'. "No," I answered determinedly.
Then, smiling triumphantly, I reached up and messed up his gelled hair which I knew took him ages for him to style it. "Shite! My hair! ...Sigh...I guess it doesn't matter. Anything else, lady Christine?" Nick mimicked a servant.
"Yes. Put me down."
His eyes popped wide open. "P-put y-you d-down? A-as in p-put y-you t-to s-sleep? I d-don't d-do th-that to humans! Anyway I don't do it to anyone so I won't do it on you even if it's your suicide attempt. It won't work on me. I'm not going to put down my good friend," he winked at me. Whoa, how many times have I been winked at ever since I reached here? At least three times?
"It means you're cute and nice," Kres popped in. I rolled my eyes in disbelieve at the many times they ransacked my head with whatever super powers they have. Nevertheless, they can't do anything. My mind is my mind. They can't change the way I think.
"Anyway, my 'put me down' version is not to kill me, so you can relax. But I don't think you can relax while carrying me so I might want to suggest that you put me, this heavy girl, down and walk by myself. As I dimly remember, I weigh about fifty plus kilogram so put me down before your arms break."
"Okay, little girl. I'll listen to you just this once." Nick let me down and after gesturing to the other guys, they nodded but Nick did not realise that I had witnessed their quick exchange. "What's up? You all are going to gang up on me and bully me?" I asked curiously.
Nick have me a smile which didn't touch his eyes. "Hey! What's going on? You'd better tell me!" "Nothing you'll want or need to know," Once again, he smiled. I could tell he only smiled half-heartedly. Fine, he'll get pass me this round, there's no other chance he'll get pass me next time. My stomach chose to rumble at that moment and I blushed. "Let's go eat."
I forgot to say that even though there's a kitchen in eery apartment, they only contain snacks like sweets, chocolate bars, chips and of course some other yummy foods I have yet to try out. Our meals, like breakfast, lunch, tea break, and dinner, are to be eaten in the school's cafeteria unless there's a special reason.
And of course the food is not free even if we can take them without paying on the spot-the bill is added to our school fees at a fixed rate- so that means we can have as much food as we like and that's why I was confused that while out way to the cafeteria, all the guys I saw were not fat and I could tell all of them DO work out and keep themselves muscular and do...you know, all those things they do to impress girls like going about the school half naked and showing off their six packs or eight packs. If you think I'm that kind of girl who hooks up with guy if they show off in front of me, think again. My roommates were all fully clothed ( the proper way, that is), and I'm walking with them. I beg to differ if you say I'm walking with them because I know them and they know me. That's just a different matter.
"Welcome to the cafe, Christine," Nick whispered into my ear as we reached a pair of transparent plastic door and my nervousness built. Kes and Kres went forward and like waiters, they pushed open the transparent doors for us. It felt like making a grand entrance and as we entered, all noise and activity stopped as all of them turned to look at us. Me, practically.
Some people were staring at me intently and made me feel uncomfortable. Others pointed at us and whispered among themselves. "Ignore them," Zelda's voice sounded at my other ear. Nick led us to a large table meant for six. Nick and Zelda left Sam and me there to get food for us with Kes and Kres.
Blocking out the background noise after it started again, Sam leaned in to me from across the table and beckoned me to lean in and listen to what he has to say. "What do you think of Nick and Zelda?"
I frowned. I don't compare my friends. "They're both very friendly and fun. It's a real pleasure to have them as my friends," I answered truthfully. It was his turn to frown. "Is that all?" "Yeah. Is there something you want to say to me? If there is, I promise I won't tell anyone else if you tell me," I tried my best to look serious. "Okaaay...IthinkNickandZeldalikesyou," his words came out together in a rush and I do NOT know what on earth he said. "What about me?"
This time, he slowed down and spoke the sentence uncomfortably. "I think Nick and Zelda likes you."
