I'm packed off to a boarding school in the middle of nowhere...oh and I don't think they're humans~13~
recap from part 12:
Voices appeared from outside the door quite a few meters away from us. Then, the door was opened by Aldrin, with Sam and the others following at his wake. Aldrin's eyes landed on me, then he beamed.
"Yo, sister, you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm okay."
"No thanks to you, Blake,"he said to Blake, who looked away and closed his eyes.
Part 13
I felt a surge of sympathy for him once again. "Aldrin," I chided him in a soft tone. "He's suffering already, try not to make him feel any more wretched."
Aldrin looked at me in silence. Then he smiled his big brother smile, which reminded me of his smaller ones a few years back. "I see you've become more sympathetic while I'm gone, but sometimes some people cannot be sympathized on. I've heard what happened to you on your first few days here, my dear sis. I cannot allow people like this to bully my sister!" His face flushed an angry red, his eyes glaring a the back of Blake's head. Surely he's not thinking of avenging me by attacking the son of a man who injured me?
I've got to try to stop him. "Aldrin, you don't know. You're not him. You might not understand what he is thinking or how is he feeling. He might not have been happy about injuring me either. Just try, try to understand him, understand the way he is, understand why he's like this. Even the most dangerous criminal might have done what murder he had done just because he is lonely or had a messed-up life. Blake is one of them. Capable of murder, but did he kill me? No. Did he even try to kill me? No. Then, there was the scene just now. You can see how bad his father is. Imagine if my father is like this. I would have gone bonkers too! I would have also bullied some other helpless little kid just for the fun of it! Aldrin, you've got to look at this in both angles. Your view and his view!"
Aldrin gaped at me. "Wow...I...didn't know..."
Relief washed over me. "It's okay. Now, we've got to help him, so that his father might not abuse him anymore."
Sam's brow furrowed. "We left him when we thought he had changed into a heartless cad, and we did not even think of the possible reasons. Sure we did have some suspicions, but we did not even bother to ask him because of what he had become. I feel...ashamed of myself," sorrow made its way to his eyes.
"Us too," the others chorused.
Aldrin was the first one who recovered first. "Well, now this misunderstanding's over, we've got to apologize to him properly, guys. We should've thought that there might be something bothering him to make him like this," then he mumbled, "like an asshole."
"I heard that, Al," I raised my brow, curious.
He smirked as if he had lost his mind. "Nothing."
Then, with me in the lead, we walked towards Blake's 'hospital' bed, only to find his face buried in his pillow and the area around the pillow were wet. What's happened to him? Severe running nose?
"Hey Blake," I managed in my friendly tone as I had used with the others. I shook his shoulders, and he shrank away from my hand, and I thought I heard a sniff. "Blake, are you okay?" This time I was worried. Slowly, I turned his shoulders so that his face would be facing me.
Tears covered his face.
