You and Sebastian had been dating for about a month and today he was taking you out for breakfast. When he arrived on your doorstep, you still weren't completely ready to go.
"Hey, Sebastian. I just need like five minutes and then I'll be ready to go." You said, opening the door for him.
"I'm in no rush-take your time." He replied with a smile.
"Here, you can come it." You offered and he stepped inside your apartment. You didn't even realize that today would be the first time he was inside your home. You went into the kitchen and filled your cat's bowl with water.
"You have a cat?" You heard Sebastian ask from the entryway. From where he stood, he could see your cat sleeping on the back of your sofa.
"Yeah, didn't I tell you?" You replied, slightly confused by your reaction.
"You never mentioned it. Is it a Scottish Fold?"
"Yeah, her name is Bonnie." You explained.
"I didn't know you had a cat. I love cats." Sebastian said. You noticed how he didn't move from his spot in the entryway and instead just watched the feline.
"You can pet her. She doesn't bite." You stated.
"I'm allergic." He answered.
"Why didn't you tell me?" You asked.
"I don't know. I'm not deathly allergic-don't panic." He let out a laugh. You got your shoes on and grabbed your purse.
"I'm ready." You announced. He led you out of your home and you got into his car.
"How long have you had Bonnie?" Sebastian asked you as he drove his car down the road.
"She'll be four next month so roughly three and a half years." You shrugged.
"I've always wanted a cat, but I'm allergic and I'm never home enough to care for it." He replied.
"You're fine with Bonnie around though, right?" You clarified.
"Yes." He nodded, "I just can't touch my face after petting her or anything like that. On a side note, where would you like to go for breakfast? I chose last time." He asked.Months later, Sebastian was on his way home from your place one day when he found a kitten abandoned on the side of the street. He took the stray to the vet's office and discovered that it didn't have a chip. He knew he couldn't adopt it-his cat allergy refrained him from doing so-therefore, he called you.
"Hey, Seb." You answered your phone, "Did you forget something?"
"No, honey. I kinda need you to do me a favor." He replied.
"What is it?" Your tone switching from playful to serious.
"I found a stray cat. It's a black Scottish Fold actually. It's such a sweet little kitten, but I can't keep him. Do you think Bonnie wants a buddy?"
"Are you asking me to adopt a cat for you?"
"Maybe." He said.
"Where are you? I want to meet it before I make anything final." You stated and he did a little fist pump, knowing you were basically saying yes.
"I'm at the vets. I'll see you soon." Sebastian replied and you bid farewell before hanging up the phone.
After discussing the cat's health with the vet and Sebastian, you decided to adopt it. It was sleeping in your lap as you and Sebastian thought of what to name the little guy.
"We're not naming him Bucky." Sebastian told you after you suggesting his famous character's name.
"Why not? Bucky's a great name." You smiled.
"How about Shadow?" He asked.
"Too basic. Batman?"
"No. No superhero names. Percy?" Sebastian suggested and you shook your head, "Dallas?"
"Crookshanks?"
"We're not naming him after a Harry Potter character either." He replied.
"But Crookshanks is so cute." You pouted.
"Crookshanks wasn't a black Scottish fold."
"What about something like Simba? Or Heathcliff? Or Blu?"
"I like Blu." He nodded.
"Blu it is." You replied. You informed the vet of the name and you got him microchipped. You then took the kitten back home with you.
"Bonnie. We brought you a friend." You announced, even though the cat wouldn't understand you. Sebastian followed you into the house and set the cage with Blu in it down. You opened it up and the frightened cat slowly emerged.
"He's adorable." You smiled down at the black kitten. Sebastian put his arm around your waist as you two watched him explore his new surroundings.
"He's like our own kid." He admitted aloud. You turned to look up at him.
"Our kid, huh?"
"Yeah. We chose his name and everything." He replied. He was about to say more, but was cut off. He turned away from you and sneezed into his elbow.
"Bless y-" you started, but he sneezed again. You let out a small laugh at the sneezing fit your boyfriend had fallen into. Normally, it was one sneeze and he was done, but now it was a whole fit and he was hunched over slightly.
"Are you good?" You laughed as he stood to his full height.
"I think so. Damn allergies." He mumbled. He went into the kitchen to wash his hands-they were probably covered in allergens due to holding the new kitten.
"Hey, at least you've got a cute sneeze." You teased him.
"I need to start taking that allergy medicine." Sebastian said, entering the living room with you. You two stood there and watched as Bonnie met her new brother.
