Chapter 3: Celebration

"Mayumi, how do you like the ramen?" I asked her as I watched her dig in.
"It's really good." She smiled as her mouth was stuffed. She looked happy and free for once. Her eyes glistening with happiness. Seeing her golden eyes, they were beautiful. Her's grew brighter and brighter each day as mine grew dull.

At the moment, Mayumi had blue eyes.  You can deactivate the Golden eyes.  It's just that being born with it activated, it's hard to manipulate it.  I learned by myself how to deactivate it.  Even when I wasn't sure it was possible.  I have a lot to teach her before I die.

"Your blue eyes suit you."  I said to her.  Her cheeks turned pink from the comment.  She was blond with blue eyes.  She seemed perfect with it.  Unlike me, I had black hair with blue eyes.  It gave off a cool, icy feel while her's was warm, and happy... But you wouldn't want to see her angry.

"All done!"  Mayumi said placing the empty bowl in front of me.
"Want more?"  I asked her and she shook her head.
"..I don't want to spend anymore of your money..."  She said shyly.  This is who the clan has been hiding for 12 years.  Mayumi looked so precious that with one wrong move, she could break.  She was trapped in that cell in her own room and she accepted it.  When I was trapped, I tried everything to get out.  I even used my eyes carelessly.  I was confused.  Why didn't anyone want me?

"If you want some more, just say so Mayumi.  We are celebrating you."  I said.
"Celebrating me..?"
"You are as clueless as ever, huh?"
"I never really celebrated me."  She said and I frowned.  Clan leader Shuichi Suzuki has really kept her locked away from the world and she hasn't tried to fight him.

"I'm fine.  I don't want anymore.  Thank you."  She said and I nodded at her.  She was too kind and fragile for this world... for the power she was given.

"Okay. Let's go!" I got up smirking and she followed. It was dark out but, I was still going to show Mayumi the city. I felt her grab my hand. I looked down at her and she smiled at me.

"Are you afraid of heights?" I asked her and she looked at me confused.
"I don't know..." She looked at me strangely.
"Do you trust me?" I asked her searching her blue orbs for any fright.
"Of course." She said with a serious look on her face.

I held her bridal style.
"Ren!"
"Don't scream." I said and I started to run and jump quickly.

"This is the Village Hidden in the Leaves..." I said as we sat cliff side over the Hokage's stone faces.

"Wow..." Mayumi's eyes lit up staring at the city dazzling with lights and trees. I guess she hasn't really seen the city much.
"This is where you've been living all along." I smirked at the beautiful city.

"Are you going to explain to me how you got my eyes this colour?" She asked and I sighed. She's persistent.

"Those are your real eyes. You were born with the Golden eyes, but as a young baby, you aren't able to control your power. Now, all you have to do is focus the chakra off of your eyes and you'll have your normal blue eyes. Focus the chakra on your eyes, you'll have your Golden eyes back." I told her and she made a thinking face.

"Are these eyes really a curse?" She asked and I shook my head.
"History is what scares the clan. I saw the truth with my own eyes." I said and her eyes lit.
"Tell me!"
"I will."

"Long ago dragons existed."
"Liar." Mayumi said I laughed.
"You and I are the proof of it."

"A man named Takeshi Suzuki was interested in finding a dragon, but not any type of dragon. There were red, blue, green, purple, and even yellow ones, but the black dragon was what Takeshi Suzuki wanted. The black dragon had beautiful Golden eyes but it was hard to catch so Takeshi made it his life goal to find the dragon knowing the power it possessed which was Fire as the red dragon possessed, Water as the blue dragon possessed, the green one possessed Earth, the purple posses lightning, and the yellow one possessed Wind."
"Chakra Natures?" May asked.
"Yes. One day, Takeshi did find a black dragon. The dragon swallowed up Takeshi. To survive, Takeshi ate the insides of the dragon. Once the dragon sensed it, it spat him out and Takeshi ran for his life. He gained powers that the dragon had."
"Also, his eyes?"
"Yes. That's what brings us here today. You aren't a demon. You have powers of a special dragon.. The Golden eyes of the black dragon." I told her.

"We didn't choose this life. Our ancestor forced this upon us. The clan is so afraid because one Takeshi returned, he couldn't control his powers and his eyes, the power it had left the clan scarred." I told her.
"Wow... Is this really true?" She asked.
"Scrolls in your basement say so."
"What?!"
"Yup."
"It's hard to believe." She said shyly.
"I understand..."

"I've recently started to develop new ways to control this power. Once you get older and advance, you'll have control of all 5 chakra natures. If you aren't able to grow and control them, you'll die." I told her and her eyes widened. This was probably a lot to put on her, but I want this to stop being called a curse.
"I want the clan to learn the amazing powers we posses.. I don't want this to be called a curse. Even if I may not be around to witness it." I stared at my hands.
"You will be around to witness it! I'll change the clan!" She looked at me fiercely and I smiled.

"It will be hard. You will have to face great pain. People telling you it's not true and fighting you. As much as you don't want me gone, but when I do go, I want you to have many friends and one person you hold close to you. You two will understand each other and won't understand the true meaning of love, but you'll slowly learn together." I said and she started to tear up.
"I don't want a boyfriend!" She said hugging me and I looked at her strangely.
"Not now! I'm just saying! Find a guy you understand. Keep him close until you are ready. Don't grow old like me without finding anyone." I said and she hugged me tighter.

Who will be worthy enough to hold this fragile flower?
