Chapter 9: Survival Training (Part 2)

Sasuke

I was hidden within the branches and leaves within a tree. I first need to take cover and when I see an opening, I'll be able to strike.

Three bells, Four of us...
Three out of Four chances to win the bells. I was for sure going to get a bell, so was Mayumi... Sakura seemed too soft and Naruto seemed too dumb so I don't really know about them.

I understood how Mayumi felt...  I twitched as I felt a strange feeling in my head as her name popped up.

"The basics of a Ninja are to hide yourself well."  The Jounin said as he stood scratching his neck in the middle of a field.  He looks so dumb and gullible, but he's the complete opposite.

"COME AND FIGHT ME!!!" Naruto yelled.  I swear he's going to get killed.

"I SAID FIGHT ME!"
"Umm...  You're a bit off..." The Jounin said staring at Naruto strangely.  Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you get killed on the battlefield.

"...what a total moron.."

Naruto started running at the Jounin at full speed.
"THE ONLY THING A BIT OFF IS YOUR HAIR CUT!"

The Jounin shoved his hand into his pouch and Naruto halted.  Is he really going to pull a weapon out on Naruto?

"Ninja fighting lesson number 1, Taijutsu.  I'll teach you about it."  He said and my eyes widened.  Wait, then why is he going for a weapon?

He pulled out a book.
What...what is this..?

Mayumi

I was in a bush observing.  This Jounin was strange.  I feel he's toying with us.

He taunted Naruto getting him all fired up.  Everything Naruto threw at the Jounin, the Jounin dodged.

The Jounin ended up behind Naruto.  My eyes widened seeing the tiger seal.

"A Ninja isn't suppose to be caught from behind, idiot." 

"NARUTO GET OUT OF THERE!  YOU'RE GOING TO GET KILLED!"  Sakura yelled exposing her hiding spot.

"Too late!"

"Hidden Leaf Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique, 1000 Years of Pain!!!"  Kakashi said poking Naruto in the butt sending him into a river.

My cheeks heated up.  I blushed frustratedly turning away from the battlefield.  What's it gonna take to beat this guy..  He's just toying with Naruto now..

I looked back and I was face to face with him.  My eyes widened.

"Well Hello there..." I tried to run but he grabbed my arm and pulled me into the open.

"Sometimes the best moment to strike is as soon as possible.  You will come in combat with the enemy.  Surprise attacks are good, but if lives are at stake, you can't wait that long to strike."  Kakashi said as he gripped my arm.

"Now you're finished.." He came face to face with me.

"I really thought I wouldn't have to fight you.  I was hoping to be cut some slack to find the bell dropped somewhere."  I smiled but my face quickly became serious..

I turned to see eight Naruto's pop out the water.

"Looks like you have bigger issues on your hands."  I said.  He let go of my hand staring astonished and the eight shadow clones.  I immediately ran for another hiding spot.

I watched as Naruto got Kakashi from behind.  His shadow clones came at Kakashi with full speed.

"Didn't you say don't let your enemies get behind you?"  I was surprised myself.  Maybe Naruto is better than I expected..

His shadow clones held Kakashi down.  The real Naruto jumped up in the air preparing to strike Kakashi.

In a blink of an eye, Naruto hit himself..
"Substitution..."

My eyes widened as I saw a bell on the ground...  Nope.  It's a trap.  I let my eyes investigate and I saw the trap.  A rope ready to grab onto the fool who tries to pick up the bell.

I was going to get that bell and make him feel like the fool.

I got up from my hiding spot and ran. I threw a Kunai right beside the bell and a rope gripped the Kunai. I was quickly about to grab the bell, but three Shuriken were quickly coming my way. I ran off the tree and flipped over dodging the Shuriken in the nick of time. They pierced the tree.

I turned to see Kakashi.
"Sorry, but I'll be taking my bell back." He said and held it in his hand. He's really too fast.

Kakashi

The reason why I'm teasing Mayumi now is because I want to see her true power. If this is gonna be my squad, I need to know and understand their strengths inside out.

I clearly understand Naruto's and I was going to test Sasuke and Sakura next.

"You want to see my true power? Look around you." She said. I saw and sensed the eight ANBU.

"Why?" I asked confused. She's young. I don't think she'd master her eyes..

"I don't even know my true power. I don't know if I can even control it. They are here to make sure I don't end up killing somebody."

She head bowed down staring at the ground and she clenched her fist.

"Someday... Someday.. It won't be like this..."

Did this family corrupt her?

Mayumi

Shuriken and Kunai hit Kakashi sending him into a tree. My eyes widened as I saw blood leave his face. Smoke appeared, Kakashi disappeared, and a pierced long appeared.

I quickly ran to find a hiding spot.

I heard a Sakura scream in the direction I was going and I stopped. He's probably going for Sasuke. She was following him.

I laid hidden in the bushes and I heard her scream once more. My eyes widened and I was shaking. What was he doing to her? Was he torturing her..?

Maybe I'm not ready to be a Ninja.
