Chapter 46: The Big Snake

Toshiko

This girl got extremely quiet after leaving the hospital.  Well at least she isn't yelling and everything late at night.

I never thought that I'd have to escort a little brat home. I know about the Dragon Eyes and I've studied everything about it. I mean that cursed power killed my grandfather.

"Didn't I say he's gonna be fine?  Stop worrying."  I said and it still wouldn't shake the sad feeling on her face.

"The more I grow and the longer I live, he slowly dies.  Why do things have to be this way?"  She softly spoke.

"Well..  it's the issue that came upon your clan.  You have to deal with it."  I stated and she gave me a disappointed glare.

I stopped.  "Look little girl, you have to accept things.  You can't hide from them forever!"  I yelled as she stood in front of me.  Main households second born, she has a small fragile figure.  She looks weak, pathetic...but I can tell, she's powerful...And those eyes make her even stronger.

I started to hear hissing and I immediately turned my head to see a snake.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me."  I quickly ran to the girl and threw her over my shoulder.  She groaned in pain..  More snakes appeared in our path.

"What's going on?!"  She questioned.

"An old friend has come to visit." I stated in frustration and we started to run in the opposite direction of her clan's compound.

Mayumi

My eyes went gold and I was having a vision.

"I want Dragon Eyes, Kabuto!"

"Yes Lord Orochimaru.  She's right there."

Kabuto's trying to get my eyes for Orochimaru. All I knew was that Orochimaru was a bad guy who is a part of the Legendary Yonin. He was a Rogue Ninja.

"It's Orochimaru.. He's with Kabuto... They want..me..." I said confused.

"Things just keep getting better.." I listened to her mutter.

Toshiko tripped and face planted as I flew forward and rolled on the floor.  Pain immediately surged through my body.  I laid on my side and stared at Toshiko as she slowly got up with a red mark on her forehead. The headband that covered her forehead was off. She had a small diamond on her forehead.

"WHO PUT THAT STUPID ROCK THERE?!"  Toshiko yelled at the ground.

"Hehe...  I know that voice..  It's Toshiko, my sweetheart."  Orochimaru spoke walking out of the shadows.

"I am not your sweetheart!"

I felt myself lifted from the ground. I was in Kabuto's arms.

"We meet again, Mayumi."  He stated and I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"You..you are a bad guy..?"  I questioned taking deep breaths.

"Don't worry about who I am.  Worry about how your life..  Wonder if you'll truly still be alive after you don't have those eyes anymore.." Kabuto said and I gritted my teeth.

"Ororchimaru, let her go.  She's a little girl who doesn't deserve something like this.  Wasn't marking the Uchiha kid enough?"  Toshiko asked the snake man.

"Well Sasuke's pretty hard headed.  I want to make sure I have a back up plan. The Dragon Eyes interest me." Orochimaru pointed at me as I tried to wiggle out of Kabuto's grip.

"Let me go!" I yelled.

"You'll need to try harder than that to get out of my grip." Kabuto smirked.

I watched as Toshiko stared at Orochimaru...

She finally smirked. "Little girl, can you swim?"

"W-Well yeah.." I said.

"Well you asked for it." She stared back calmly at Orochimaru and started to do hand signs immediately.  "Water Style: Water Torrent!"  A lot of water came out of her mouth and Kabuto lost his balance as the water flooded the scene.

Well isn't this kinda gross..

Shut up.

Orochimaru was quick to react, standing on the water and I was swimming away in pain from Kabuto.

"Give me your hand!"  Toshiko stood on the water reaching out to me.  I grabbed it and she jumped on a higher platform placing me upon it.

"He's in the village.  We can't just leave."  She stated.  "This is bad."

Let me innnnnnnnnnnnn...

Do you mean out?

Whatever!  If you are caught, you'll die and the fate of this village is destruction.  Orochimaru does his research.  If he wants those eyes, he knows what they are capable of more than you.

I watched as a large amount gold chased Orochimaru and Kabuto.

"Father..." I said as he stood beside me.

"Seems like this was much harder than expected."  My father said to Toshiko.

"It's hard when I have to protect her and get him.  Orochimaru's a snake.  He easily slips out of things."  Toshiko spoke scratching her head frustratedly.

"Minako..  Take your sister back to the compound.  Your orders are to protect her."  My father said to Minako who appeared beside me.

"Protect her?"  Minako questioned in confusion.

"Minako, that was an order."

Minako frustratedly accepted.  "Understood."  Minako said.  She threw me over her shoulder and started running.

I'm always getting thrown over shoulders.  Why am I so small?
