Chapter 7: Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi

"My name is Kakashi Hatake.  I have no desire to tell you guys about my likes and dislikes.  Dreams for the future...?  Hmm.. Well, I have lots of hobbies.." I said plainly.  This is my squad? This team was definitely an interesting bunch. Pink-haired, onyx-haired and two blondes.

"So all we learned...is his name..?"  I heard the pink haired girl mutter.

I ignored the comment, "Now it's your turn, from the right."  I turned my attention to the small blond boy.  He has the Nine-Tailed Fox in that body of his.  Word around is he's a knuckle-head and loves to play pranks.

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki.  I like Ramen in a cup.  What I like even more is the restaurant Ramen Iruka Sensei buys me.  What I dislike is waiting 3 minutes for the cup Ramen to cook."  The boy said with such confidence.  Does he think of anything besides Ramen?

I can see why people see him as the knuckle-head.

The kid fixed his forehead protector and stared at me with fierceness in his eyes.
"My dream is to surpass Hokage! ...And then have the people of this village acknowledge my existence!" He stated and my eyes widened. Maybe he's not all that bad...

"Hobbies... Pranks, I guess." He shrugged and I sweatdropped scratching my head. Never mind. He's definitely a knuckle-head.

"Next." I moved my eyes to the emo kid. He's the very last of the Uchiha since his brother killed them all except for him. He looked cold. As Iruka tells me, he's an excellent student and is driven by hatred. It makes him work harder.

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. There are tons of things I dislike but I don't really like anything." He said with a cold voice. Of course Kakashi has to have the emo kid. Like give Asuma or Kurenai the emo kid. Does it look like I like such sad dark things? Kakashi is a happy guy who loves to have fun and loves his face masks..

"And... I don't want to use the word 'dream' but... I have an ambition. I will restore my clan and kill a certain someone." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows. He really wants to kill his brother. To be honest.. who wouldn't? He killed his whole family and fled.

"...okay... Next.." I moved my eyes to the pink haired girl. She was blushing at the emo being all 'cool'.. but he was serious. I'm scared too...

Just Kidding. I'm Kakashi.. A Genin will not scare me.. Ever...

"Well there is a first time for everything..." The blonde girl muttered looking at her hands. Is she talking to me?

"Who are you talking to Mayumi?" The pink-haired girl asked the blonde.
"No one... It just came out..." Maybe I'm just over exaggerating.

"I'm Sakura Haruno. The thing I like is *giggle*. Well... The person I like is *giggle*. Umm.. Should I say my dream for the future..? *giggle* OH MY!!!" She kept looking at Sasuke. So pink-haired girl is crushing on Sasuke.

I sweatdropped. This girl had the second highest mark in the academy... But she's such an airhead..

"The thing I dislike is Naruto. My hobby is.. *giggle*"

Girls of this age are more interested in love than ninjutsu..

I looked at the blonde girl. Does that mean, she's the same too? No.. She tied with the highest mark out of all the Genin with Sasuke and she didn't even go to the academy.  She was home trained.

"How about you?" I asked the blonde girl. She sighed and sat up. Her cheeks tinted pink and she smiled shyly. She has what they call the demon eyes. The rest of the squad looked at her. They didn't know much about her. Her father hid her from the world until now.

"My name is Mayumi Suzuki. I like to train and I like my cousin Ren.. I dislike... I don't really have a reason to not like anything. I'm thankful for this life I've been given." She sounds so fragile and sensitive. No Genin I know was like this.

"My dream is to change how the world views my power. I'll show them it's not a curse. It's a gift." She said as her smile wore off bringing serious eyes. 

"My hobby is training."

An interesting bunch all right...

"That's enough of that.  We will start our duties tomorrow."  I said and the blonde boy immediately got excited.

"Yay!!!  What kind of duties?!!" Naruto asked almost jumping up and down.

"First we are gonna do something with just the four of us."  I stated.

"What? What?!!"

"Survival Training."

"Survival Training..." Naruto looked clueless.

"Why is our duty, training?  We did enough training at the Ninja academy."  Sakura said with confidence as she slowly got frustrated.

"I'm your opponent, but this isn't normal training..". I said getting confused looks except from the blonde girl.

I started to laugh a bit.

Sakura started to sweat nervously as she gave me and angry look.  Naruto looked clueless, and Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows...  But Mayumi...  Her eyes pierced me.  Like she knew me inside out.

"...When I was in the compound," Mayumi started, "...my father made me do what you call survival training."  She said and I looked at her confused now.

"How?"  I asked.

She stared at the ground below her and her cold eyes..made the air tense and cold.

"My father was a strict man and he did it to help me get better.  Whenever we did survival training, we faced each other...and when I lost, I would lose a meal that night.  That made me train harder than ever, and I'd have to redeem myself, and until I got it won or impressed him, I could move on."  She said.  The Suzuki household was that strict.  Naruto, Sakura, and even Sasuke were staring at the girl confused.  The look on Sakura's face told me that she realized that her Mayumi's face was just a mask hiding her strength.  She now realized she's stronger than her.. 

My question is, does that strength come from the eyes, or is she strong without her eyes?

"That leaves me with one question Sensei..." She said seriously and all eyes were still on her.

"What happens if we lose to you?" 

I sighed and stared at them seriously, "You are going back to the academy."

"WHAT?!"
