Chapter 5: The Academy

Mayumi

The day went quick being with Team Gai. I watched mainly on the sidelines because Minako was scared that my power would get out. The dragon's eyes.

Right now, I was making my way to the class I was suppose to be at about 3 minutes ago. I hope Iruka didn't start yet.

I finally made it to the academy and rushed inside. I opened the door to the class. In front of me, was Iruka.. On my left were the students sitting and staring at him. Now they were all staring at me.

"Mayumi you made it. I was just about to start." Iruka smiled as the class stared at me strangely.
"Class, this is Mayumi Suzuki."

"She's never been here! How is she a Genin?!" A kid with a hoody and red marks on his face yelled.
"Yeah! How?!" A blond kid with blue eyes yelled.

Should I tell them why? Is Iruka going to tell them why? I'm so nervous my hands are shaking, and my legs are trembling. I can't help but blush in embarrassment.

"Mayumi's father requested that his daughter would be taught in the Suzuki's clan area. Since becoming a Genin requires a squad, he can't help it. He had to let her go." Iruka said and I just nodded. I've never had so much eyes on me all at once.

"Mayumi, why don't you sit beside our loud mouth Naruto?" Iruka said pointing at the blonde kid who yelled. I nodded and slowly made my way towards the seat. The pink haired girl beside him stared at me with a frown. I just looked down and sat down quietly.

Everything was so tense. I could feel eyes on me. I continued to tremble. Everything was pushed into me so suddenly. The only friend I've had was Ren. A grown man. A 27 year old.

"Next, Team 7.. Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki-"
"YAY!" The blonde haired kid cheered.
"Sasuke Uchiha,"
"YAY!" The pink haired girl cheered.
"...and Mayumi Suzuki."

Silence filled the room. I'm on Team 7, huh...

We were all now eating lunch.  Iruka said we'd be introduced to our Sensei's in the afternoon.

I sat on a bench alone. This all felt too weird. I'm never left alone.

My eyes slowly widened. I felt eight presences around me. They must've been ANBU. The elders probably sent them. Maybe even my father.

I continued to eat my food pretending everything was ok. Yeah right, I'm never alone. Even when I think I am, there's always someone around.

I don't even know if I'm more scared to be alone or to be with a lot of people.

"Hey.." I looked up to see the pink hair girl.  Her name was Sakura Haruno.  The other female in our squad.
"Oh..  Hi.."  I smiled softly and she took a seat beside me.
"I'm sorry about earlier.  I just found it strange how you are a Genin, but have never been in the academy."  She laughed awkwardly.
"I know.  I was very scared about coming here.  The Third Hokage gave me this opportunity.  My father wanted to keep me locked up."
"Why?"  She asked curiously.

"Sakura..."  We both looked up to see Sasuke Uchiha.  He always looked angry all the time.  I wonder what's got him like that...  But he, was smirking now.

He walked up to Sakura.  I got up. 
"I'll leave you two alone."  I said to Sakura.  She nodded and smiled while blushing.

I walked down the path.  There was a lot of people.  I felt the need to be alone.  I saw a roof and a window.

I jumped up to it and sat on the window ledge.  Just when I was about to finish my lunch, a hand covered my mouth and pulled me in closing the window.

The hand was pretty big.  It was a guy.  I could feel his body pressed against mine.  My eyes, they were returning to the dragon eyes.
