Chapter 75: Returned

Sasuke

I opened my eyes to see the white hospital room. 

The first face I saw, it was Sakura's.  Her eyes were filled with surprise, sadness, and happiness.  I watched a tear slip out of her eye.  I slowly sat up and the tears continued to fall from her eyes.

She pulled me into a hug.  "Sasuke..." She cried my name.  I looked up at Naruto who didn't stand that far away.

"Sasuke... You..." He cut himself off and watched us with a weak smile.  He looked like he was recently in a fight.  He probably went on a mission.  Where's Mayumi?

How long was I out?

Sakura backed away from the hug and looked at me confused.  "Is something wrong Sasuke?  Why haven't you talked yet?  Are you okay?"

I glared at Sakura.

"Sasuke!  Say something!  Please!  You don't understand how worried I was!  I thought...I thought..." Sakura trailed off a bit and I cleared my voice interrupting her.

"Where's Mayumi?"  I asked and Sakura quickly got silent.

I watched as Naruto trembled in anger. He slowly calmed himself down and took a deep breath. "Look. I get you are an ungrateful bastard, where the only girl you care about is Mayumi, but come on! For once in your life could you say thank you to Sakura who stayed by your side all this time?!" Naruto stated angrily.

"Sasuke, it's okay. You don't need to thank me." Sakura awkwardly laughed rubbing her eyes. "It was my decision to be here. I'm just so happy you are okay."

I glared at Sakura and then looked back at Naruto. "I didn't ask for anyone to be here. She's aware. So where's Mayumi? Don't tell me you let him hurt her!" I slowly raised my voice.

If Itachi touched her, I would find him right now, and I'd...would it be worth it? He'd just kill me. I'm so pathetic and weak.

I threw my head in my hands and grunted in pain. Why did it turn out that way? Memories are slowly flowing in.

Naruto looked at the ground, and muttered. "People who don't open their ears and listen, can't be helped." Then he looked up at me. "Mayumi was fine after the encounter. We went on a mission to retrieve the woman who'd be the fifth Hokage, we trained, and in a large battle between grandma, grandma number 2, pervy sage, and that creep Orochimaru, she got injured pretty bad. Lost a lot of blood. We had to leave her behind."

You...what?

"You are telling me...you left her behind?" I repeated what he said in shock. "She was hurt..?"

"She's not alone. She's needs to rest up to travel. Are we suppose to drag her on the way to have her pass out? She'll be here soon." Naruto stared me straight in my eyes and I gave him a small nod.

"Poor Mayumi." Sakura gave a confused look to Naruto as if she didn't know if she felt sad or glad.

I better see her here soon.

Ren

"You need to calm down. I'll kill you if you don't."

I didn't care. I REALLY didn't care, but if that happened, they would've killed her.

Stupid Toshiko threatening me. Stupid Toshiko for forcing me back to the village convincing people I'm unstable.

Only unstable when fake people come around. I just try to be real.

"So Mayumi's not back yet?" Clan leader asked me and I slowly shook my head. We kneeled before each other in his home. I tightly gripped the clothes on my pants. I was angry with myself. I could've moved her. I could've saved her.

"They say she needed to rest up before her return." I stated and he kinda gave an 'okay' look.

"How's training been for her?" He asked and the thought of how she alter my Jutsu Gold Rage into Gold Rush.

"She truly is amazing. Her training shows how good she is." I softly smiled thinking of her. It was hard but she pushed through.

"Good.. Good...  Lord Second's Granddaughter informed me, you were transforming into that curse. And you attacked her.  I'm very dis-"

"She's the reason why Mayumi isn't here right now.  She possess the white dragon and wants Mayumi DEAD!  She tried to kill her, and if it wasn't for ME ATTEMPTING TO PULL HER OUT OF THE WAY, THAT STUPID WHITE DRAGON WOULD'VE PUT YOUR DAUGHTER INTO THE GROUND. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I WENT BEAST MODE NOW?" I was so angry. I was so angry with Toshiko. I was so angry with that white dragon. I was so angry I couldn't be with Mayumi. Most importantly, I was so angry at myself.

"White dragon?" Clan Leader questioned. He slowly got up. "Ren, follow me." He walked out of the room and I followed behind.

We left the Suzuki Compound. Where was this man taking me?
