Chapter 19: Mirrors

Mayumi

As the mist appeared around us, I questioned myself if I should've activated my eyes.  Everyone would be blinded.  They wouldn't see my eyes.

Have you thought of the fact that I could control you whenever I want to?

I took deep breaths.  I'm stronger than that.  I won't lose control.

You know how much the people before you said that.  It got majority of them killed.

This is my body.  Not yours.

No...As long as you have those eyes.  This is MY body..  Not yours.

You can forever say that, but I can move my arms.  I can do anything.

You really do annoy the hell out of me.

Right after that, I felt a strong pain in my chest.  It was hard to breathe.  I screeched a bit getting the attention of the others.  I dropped on one knee and clutched my chest.

Who's body was it again?

"Mayumi!  What's happening?!"  Sakura yelled as I gasped fro air.

"Mayumi...  Do I need to do the thing?"  Kakashi asked.  Ren explained the whole situation to him.  Kakashi might even know more shit about my own eyes than me.  He knows how to get me out of a situation when the eyes take over.

I regained my balance.  I got back up.  I was fine.

"I'm fine."  I stated regaining my stance.

I won't lie...  You are starting to impress me...

"Long time no see Kakashi..  I see you're still with those brats.."  Zabuza's voice haunted.  I relaxed myself.

I turned to Sasuke and he was shaking.

"He's shaking again... Poor kid..."  Zabuza's water clones appeared all around us.

"I'm shaking from excitement!"  Sasuke immediately took down all the water clones.

"He saw through the water clones.  That brat has grown."  We listened to Zabuza speak.  "It looks like a rival has appeared... Eh Haku?"

"It does indeed."  The boy named Haku spoke. "That girl over there, I saw her in the village one day."  Haku spoke in my direction.

"You didn't see anything!"  Sakura yelled.  Why is she doing this?  Trying to protect me even though she knows everyone would believe it.

"Oh yeah?  Why is she have a sad look on her face?  She wanted to kill a man and she almost did." 

"That little girl?  Almost killed a man?"

"She's hiding a whole side of her Zabuza.  We need to take her down before it surfaces.  I can do it myself."  Haku said.

"Don't let me down Haku."  Zabuza said and Haku appeared between Sasuke and I.  Sasuke immediately started to fight him and I stood back a bit. Why did nervousness overcome me?

"Why do you bother? I want to fight her." Haku asked.

"If you want to get to her, you better get through me first." Sasuke growled and I kept getting more confused on why they care for me all of a sudden. Sakura acts like she cares but, she doesn't like me because of Sasuke.  Sasuke is upset I don't like him, and at the fact I say things when I barely know anything about him.  Naruto...  I hope he doesn't dislike me.

"Mayumi, back up!"  Sasuke yelled at me.

"Flying Water Needles."  The boy said and I jumped away as well as Sasuke.

The boy jumped back worried of when Sasuke would appear.

"You're pretty slow."  Sasuke stood behind the boy and sighed in relief.

They started to fight again and Sasuke managed to out do Haku in speed.  He kicked him back to Zabuza surprising him.

"I can't have you underestimating my team by calling them "brats." Sasuke and Mayumi are both the Leaf Village's best rookies." Kakashi said and I stared at him shocked, and Sasuke smirked at me in an angry yet surprised manner.

"Sakura is the brightest in the village." Sakura started to blush.

"And the other one is the show-off, hyper-active, #1 loudest Ninja in the village." Kakashi stated referring to Naruto.

I walked up and stood beside Sasuke.

"Hehehehe.. Haku, do you realize? At this rate we'll be driven back." Zabuza said angrily and a chill was in the air.

"We can't have that..." Haku emitted a dark aura. He started to make hand signs.

"Demonic Ice Mirrors!" Haku said and ice mirrors surrounded Sasuke and I. Haku entered a mirror and all of a sudden, he was in all the mirrors.

You are gonna die...

I gritted my teeth in frustration.

"I'll show you my real speed." In that moment, I was screaming in pain with Sasuke, pain that I've never felt before. Out of all my training with my father, I was never hurt to this point, and for once, I was being overpower- no, I was being destroyed.

I immediately fell to the ground after Haku stopped. I could feel blood oozing out of my skin.

Didn't I tell you? You are weak as hell?

"S..s..Shut up!" I yelled and punched my fist into the ground.

"Mayumi Suzuki... Those eyes of yours look like a real pain. Once they are gone, you're helpless." Haku said. How did he know about these eyes?

If she he whatever that is takes these eyes, they have possession of my power. They seem like they'll understand to control it unlike a weakling like you.

I want to prove that I don't need you to help me beat someone. I rather die than let you take over my body!

Ugh! I hate these stupid eyes and no one believing I can do stuff on my own.

A kunai was thrown at Haku, but he caught it. Then a shuriken hit him in the face sending him out of the mirror and onto the ground.

"NARUTO UZUMAKI HAS ARRIVED!"

I slowly got up with Sasuke and he looked at me and sighed.

"If you have something that can help us defeat this guy, use it at all means. This is our first serious mission and we should take it seriously. Don't be afraid to show your true strength, Mayumi." Sasuke said and I nodded.

"Maybe that Naruto's out there helping us, he can attack from the outside while we keep attacking from the inside."

"Hey!! I came to save you!" Naruto said kneeling right beside us. A major argument erupted between Naruto and Sasuke.
