Chapter 4: Meeting Team Gai

"Smile!" The cameraman said and I softly smiled.

Today I got my photo taken for my ninja registration form.  This was really all serious.  I haven't been out of my house this long.

"Beautiful Ms. Suzuki." The man said and I looked at my picture.  It looked cute.  I looked cute.

"Blue eyes do suit you."  My half-sister Minako Suzuki said peaking to stare at the pic.  Before my father had met my mother, he was with Minako's mother..  Things didn't work out but she ended up having a daughter.  Minako is 2 years older than me.  She's 14 years old and a Genin.
"Thank you."  I said.

I was a nice person and kind to everyone but, she made my blood boil a lot.

My mom was my dad's true love.  So what?  Why do I have to get punished?  She also calls me a demon.  I guess she's the reason I've accepted all this negativity.

"We need to get you home now."  She grabbed my arm and pulled me out.

My father caught Ren and I last night.  He was shocked that I could control my eyes now, but he was furious with Ren taking me out.  I'm not allowed to see Ren for three days.  Which is today, my photo taken for my ninja registration..  Tomorrow, when I get assigned to my squad and meet my sensei, and the day after tomorrow..  Who knows what my sensei has planned.

I needed Ren to help guide me and train me.  I wasn't sure if I'd lose control or not, but I wanted to be ready for whatever has to come. 

Since I can't be out alone, my father has Minako taking me out.

"Minako, can you train me?"  I asked her and she laughed.
"No.  So you can turn me into dust?"  She asked in a joking tone.  Clan members believe staring into my eyes means they'd turn into dust.  It's so ridiculous how everyone is scared of me.

"Fine.  I'll train myself!"  I walked away.  I needed to be ready for tomorrow.  I don't know who I'll meet, how they'll react..  I'm nervous yet interested.

"Wait! You sure you have your eyes under control?"  She asked and I nodded.
"We'll train with my squad."  She said and my eyes widened.
"Your Genin squad?"  I asked curiously and she gave a devious smirk.
"That's right.."

Minako and I were walking through the forest. I stared at her back as I followed her. She was a bit taller than me. She had dark hair yet...

"Keep up with me!" She argued and I quickly walked.

...yet we had the same blue eyes.

"Sorry I'm late Sensei. My father told me to take my sister out to get her picture taken for her Ninja Registration Form." Minako apologized to a man with a bowl cut hair cut.
"It's alright Minako." He gave a smile and a thumbs up. His teeth sparkled in the sunlight. He had a strange appearance. Was this really the Jounin of this team?

"MINAKO!" A boy tried to hug Minako but she dodged it causing him to bump into a tree and fall down. He looked like a replica of the Jounin. Were they related?

"Minako! Ready to fight!" A girl with two buns walked towards Minako with a boy with long hair. "Of course." Minako smirked. Were they really gonna fight? Is this what teammates do?

"This is so unnecessary." The boy sighed in frustration crossing his arms.

"Hey! Hold on. These are training grounds. We don't fight here." The sensei interrupted the two.
"Sensei. My sister just became a Genin and I'd like to show her a thing or two about fighting." Minako said looking back at me. All eyes were on me.

"Woah... So pretty..." The bowl cut haired kid said giving me a creepy smile and blushing.
"Neji, TenTen, Gai Sensei and Lee, this is Mayumi, my half sister." Minako said introducing us. They all waved and smiled excluding the long haired kid who glared at me.

"Mind Neji. He's always like that." TenTen said and I nodded.

"You'll be assigned your squad tomorrow, is that right?" Gai asked and I nodded.

"I guess it's ok to show her a thing or two." Gai said.
"I'll show you the Suzuki clan's true power Mayumi." Minako smirked. I don't know if she was actually being nice to me or just trying to scare me.

I stood at the sidelines by the men.

"Shake hands first you two." Gai said and the did as told.
"Now. Begin!"

TenTen brought out a scroll and weapons flew out. Minako was about to do hand signs but dodged each weapon. No scratches at all. I stared astonished.

"It's over!"  Minako smirked.
Minako went into her pouch and pulled out three shurikens. She threw them at TenTen. One from the left, one from the right, one in the middle. TenTen was forced to jump over them to avoid them.

"Do you think that'd get me?" TenTen scoffed landing closer to Minako.
"Of course not!" Minako smiled wickedly.

TenTen had a shocked expression on her face. I scanned TenTen's body. Her ankle was cover in gold. TenTen was pulled into the ground.

That was quick.

Gold, the Suzuki clan's Kekkai Genkai.. So easy to manipulate once you learn it. There was one thing that had me confused.

"When did she weave her hand signs?" I was confused.
"Once she threw the shuriken, she immediately weaved her hand signs. TenTen was too busy dodging the Shuriken." Neji said smirking.

"I see... TenTen was too careless." Lee said nodding.
"Shut up Lee!"  TenTen yelled angrily as most of her body was underground.

I stared at Minako.
She was strong.  I could tell she held back because TenTen was her comrade.  If TenTen was her enemy, she'd be dead for sure.

Minako is definitely someone I need to surpass.
