A Friendship to Remember

Unstoppable

Leigh's POV

"Leighton, where are you going?" Dad asked upon seeing me descend the stairs.

"Concert, dad." I told him. Hindi naman strict si dad about me going out just make sure that I still go home decent.

He just smiled at me and it struck me odd. Why is dad here? "Dad, hindi ka busy?" Tanong ko and he laughed, shaking his head.

It's unusual seeing him here, lagi kasi siyang umaalis for diplomatic reasons. Dad is the British Ambassador in the country and half of my life, dito na kami tumira. My mom is pure Filipina but she died because of cancer when I was still ten.

Unlike other kids, I wasn't the spoiled brat type of girl who grew up pampered by their dads. Protective lang talaga si daddy sa akin.

"Do you need a lift to the venue? Magpahatid ka na kay manong Tonio."

I giggled. See how protective he is.

Kaya wala pang guy na nakakakuha ng attention ko. I want to date someone like my dad, yung aalagaan ako at mamahalin kahit wala na ako.

"No dad. I'm fine. I'll just take a cab." I said then kissed his cheek. "I'll call you if I get there." And he nodded, bidding farewell.

Paris informed that I shouldn't be wearing heels at wala naman talaga akong planong magayos for this concert so I wore wedge sandals and a black shirt.

Elle asked me where I was. Ako na lang daw ang kulang and jam-packed na ang venue.

It's not an arena or concert hall but a small room sa isang hotel. I was surprised nang makita na punong puno ang venue. Are they that famous?

"You're here!" Paris exclaimed while hugging me. Next to her was Doha and although younger siya, mas mukhang matanda siya because of his height and youthful looking lang talaga si Paris.

The siblings guided me to our chair at naghihintay na sina Elle at Rome who were bickering. Honestly, masarap asarin si Rome dahil nakikisakay siya sa trip namin but there's something different when Paris and him are quarreling.

The lights dimmed and screams can be heard. I wonder how famous these guys are.

"Are you ready?" The main vocalist with platinum blonde hair shouted.

Elle was shouting, really ecstatic to see her favorite band. May rockish feel sila as the drummer started created beats. They performed one song after another while Elle sang along with them.

Si Doha, videographer ng event. Gamit na gamit yung tall height niya sa task niya while Rome kept on pestering Paris. I don't even know if they're enjoying like Elle.

Dahil nasa may right side kami, hindi makita yung isang guitarist but when the vocalist went down the stage. My attention snapped on the other guitarist.

It felt as time stopped as the vocalist sang about the importance of love in a young heart. Everything was hazy until he turned to look at me, his eyes piercing into me.

I don't know what's happening but I felt my heart beating so loudly against my chest. Di ko alam kung dahil sa bass ng speakers or it was really the feeling of being in love.

When he smirked, I gasped. Oh my God. He's so handsome! Bakit ngayon ko lang siya nakita?

When he did a guitar solo, I started screaming my heart out. So this is the feeling of fangirling? Baka mamatay ako sa sakit sa puso dahil sa bilis ng tibok nito. Now I know why Elle loves their group.

"Ngayon ko lang nakitang magwild si Leighton." Rome commented and I just rolled my eyes at him. He decide to treat us for some snacks before going home and their topic of interest, me.

What's wrong with shouting my heart out? Eh naamaze naman talaga ako kay Joshua.

Elle laughed. "So it's Joshua." Pangaasar niya din. Not Elle too. "He's the nicest guy in their group." See? He's really perfect.

"Pero seriously, di ako makapaniwalang mas mageenjoy pa si Leigh kaysa sa'yo, beb." Paris claimed and I just smiled.

Hindi kasi pinansin nung vocalist si Elle. Ayan, naturn off na tuloy siya.

Bigla namang tumawa si Doha from across the table. Kanina pa yan naglalaro ng phone niya, Paris even scolded him for using the phone while eating. "Sabi ni Selena, bigyan ko daw siya ng video ng pagsigaw mo." He claimed.

Kaya pala busy. It's Selene again. Seriously, are they going out? But bakit sumama pa si Selene sa promise namin if yes. Maybe they're just friends. But is it possible for a boy and girl to be just friends?

I pouted. Not Selene. Pag nakarating pa 'to kay Rya baka hindi na ako makapasok sa school because of embarrassment. "And Rya liked your video." Elle claimed while showing me her phone.

Doha posted a video na kinuha niya of me shouting for Joshua. May seven likes na. Oh my God! "I'm going to kill you, Doha." But he just laughed at me.

Gusto kong burahin ang video. Nakakahiya talaga. Damn that Doha. Nagwawala din naman si Elle, bakit ako lang ang may video?

I refreshed my Facebook account and saw a notification pop out.

Joshua Navarro (friend of L Salvador) commented on a post shared on your wall.

I clicked on the notification with shaky fingers. Hindi siya 'to, right? He can't be friends with Elle. He can't comment on the video.

As I scroll down, I saw the last comment from someone named Joshua Navarro. 'Thank you, my number one fan. ;D'

May wink yung smiley! And number one fan? Am I his only fan? Pero may wink yung smiley.

Another notification and I literally fell down from my bed.

Joshua Navarro sent you a friend request.

Oh my God Leighton! Ganito pala ang feeling na mapansin ka ng taong sinesearch mo lang sa Google earlier? Haba ng buhok ko. Feeling Rapunzel while locked up in a high tower.

And sino pa ba ako to decline the offer? I clicked accept and a message popped out.

Joshua Navarro: Hi!

And the next thing I know, I'm squealing as if caught in fire.

Is this the feeling of being in love? It felt good. Really good.
