Joshua's POV
'And I... I'm officially missing you.'
And I posted my new cover of this song. And just like the song, I'm missing someone right now.
Leighton Ford liked your new video.
And I want the message to reach her.
"Joshua, ano ba ang kailangan naming gawin ng daddy mo para magkainteres ka sa kompanya?" Tanong ni mom habang inaayos ko yung gitara ko.
I shook my head, smiling. Wala talaga akong interest dun. "Mom, why not give it to Yohan?" And I know that she's shaking her head. "Or ate Yanna?"
"Joshua..." She said with a sigh. Again, I shook my head. Ever since young, I have no interest in running the business. Kaya nga nagbanda ako. "I'm scared about your dad being alone in Hongkong."
My ears perked up that instant. Hongkong? Dad is in Hongkong right now? "Anong ginagawa ni dad sa Hongkong?" He hates Hongkong. Ayaw na ayaw niya pumunta dun.
"Nandun daw yung business prospect niya. Nataon na nandun din yung company rival niya kaya napilitan siyang pumunta sa Hongkong." Mom explained and I listened intently although wala akong maintindihan. I never get how these company things are. "I asked Yohan to go with him but may cosplay event siya this Sunday."
That guy and cosplays. But Hongkong? Last time I checked Leighton is in Hongkong. "Do you want me to go after him, mom?"
"Can you?" I smiled. Most definitely.
The first thing I did when I landed on Hongkong was to find the most famous florist.
"For Miss Leighton Ford." I said as the woman on the counter wrote her name down. "And please name it as from anonymous."
"Sir, is it her birthday?" Tanong niya and I shook my head, curious. "Another guy went here to order the same flowers for Miss Ford." Another guy?
Another admirer?
Unlike the other, I decided to deliver the bouquet directly sa hotel. I even asked the receptionist kung may nagpadala ng bouquet for Leighton Ford pero wala naman daw. Maybe the flower shop is trying to trick me.
"Joshua?" I turned to see dad in a business suit, giving me a warm hug. What is he doing in this hotel? Dito ba siya nakacheck in? "I was surprised when your mom said na pupunta ka dito."
"Well. Yeah..." But he pulled me behind a large potted pot. What are we doing here? Hiding?
"Damn that guy." He cursed kaya napatitig ako sa kanya. I've never seen him this worked up before. "He just sealed the deal with Mr. Lim because od his daughter."
Maybe he's talking about our rival company. Dad's company focuses on sports manufacturing at baka pinaplano niyang magbranch out dito sa Hongkong but then there's a new company emerging na katulad ng sa amin.
I lightly glanced at the guy he's raging on. He's a tall man with black hair and brown eyes, something in his face made me think na familiar siya. Like someone na nakita ko dati.
"Daddy!" Someone called that made me turn to the owner of the voice. Something about it made my heart flutter and I didn't question why. Dahil nandun siya in a light blue dress and holding a bouquet of carnations.
Leighton latched her arm on the old man. "Thank you for the flowers." She said with a smile.
"Anything for my princess." And he kissed her forehead.
"Damn that Lander Ford." Bulong ni dad that made me sigh.
Now, I have another reason para hindi manahin ang kompanya. Because I can't be rivals with the girl I really like.
