"Hurry!" Cameron laughed from above me. "Okay okay I'll get there." I whispered climbing down the ladder.

"Go go!" He rushed me. "Calm down!" I laughed reaching the ground.

"Now you hurry!" I mocked him. I stood there watching him climb down the ladder with my arms crossed.

"Okay now let's go." He jumped down from the remaining few bars. He sped up ahead of me and yanked my hand pulling me to the entrance of the house.

His grip wasn't too firm but it was tight enough to make my wrists burn in pain. I'm pretty sure Hayes bruised it.

"Ow!" I yelped pulling my hands away from him.

"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly stopping in his tracks. I stood there playing with my fingers.

"Your grip was hard." I tried to state the obvious. "I barely touched yo-" He fell silent. He looked at me putting the pieces together. "Now don't lie to me." Uh oh.

"Show!" He demanded.

"Show what?" I asked.

"Wrists." He said unamused.

"Why? I was just playing around. It's okay, I'm fine. Let's get heading inside shall we?" I quickly said brushing past him.

"No no no no no." He grabbed me by my wrist again pulling me back to him. "Fuck!" I winced. I coughed, "Yes?"

"What happened to your wrists?" His grip loosened as he looked at my wrists carefully. He lifted up my sleeves looking at it.

"Why is it bruised?" He asked lightly touching it.

"I don't know Cameron." I said shrugging.

"Tell me Kayla, you're not telling me the truth." He frowned.

"It's nothing, don't worry about it." I said trying to make him believe it.

"Now come on let's go," I said dragging him in.

"Kayla please, I'm here for you. You should know that." He said.

"I know you are." I mumbled. "Then show me if you trust me enough." He said.

I sighed giving up lying. "It was Hayes, but don't worry it's okay. Please don't hurt him. It was an accident. I begged. His jaw clenches tightly.

"On both wrists?"

"What did he do?" He angrily asked already balling his fists together.

"Cameron don't, it was nothing. It was just an accident." I said pleadingly.

"He hurt you. Kayla look at what he did to youz I'm supposed to protect you! You're mum told me to make sure you're not hurt and look what happened. I promised her. I promised myself!" He angrily stormed away.

I quickly ran after him stopping him.

"No Cameron, it's an accident please don't!" I begged tearing up. He looked at me deeply, then he huffed.

"Fine, but you need to tell me exactly what happen. Did he at least apologise?" He said calming down. "Of course he did. And things just got a but competitive as we played games and my jokes went too far." I smiled lying.

"It's okay, thank you." I smiled hugging him.

"Just be careful next time." He said pulling away and leading me into the house, he's still ticked off.

"Oh, hey guys!" Nash beamed sitting eating his cereal.

"Hi." Cameron said back plainly. Cameron intertwined my hands in his and looks sweetly at me without smiling.
