Joe Trohman:
"Daddy!" Ruby shouted. "Look at me!" She hung upside down from the monkey bars and let her arms dangle in the air.
Joe glanced up from his phone to look at his daughter. "Wow Rue!" He said, enthusiastically. "But be careful. If your brother sees you doing that, then he'll wanna try."
"I don't think he's gonna see me though." Ruby lowered herself to the ground.
"What are you talking about?" He asked confused.
Ruby looked around the small park. "Well, because he's not here."
"What the Mississippi hell did you just say?" Joe dropped his phone from shock. "Where's Nathan?"
"I don't know." Ruby shrugged. "You were supposed to be watching him."
Joe opened his mouth to argue with his daughter, but quickly shut it again. "You-you're right. But we need to find Nate."
"All mommy said was to take us to the park, she didn't say to lose one of us." Ruby pointed out, wiping her hands on her jeans.
Joe stood, looking around for Nate. "Well, mommy's not here right now. So mommy's not gonna know right?" Joe raised an eyebrow.
"But-"
He grabbed Ruby's hand tightly. "Don't tell your mother and I promise you I will buy all the candy you want for a week."
"That's gonna be a hefty dentist bill daddy," Ruby grinned, showing her two missing front teeth.
"It's worth it," Joe reasoned. "Just keep your mouth shut."
Ruby nodded in silent agreement. "Where do you think he is?"
Joe shook his head and looked around the mostly deserted playground. "I have no clue."
"Nate!" Ruby yelled. "Nate where are you?"
"Nathaniel!" Joe yelled, panic rising inside of him.
Yes Joe was kinda scared about losing a child. But he was mostly scared about you figuring out that he lost his four year old son. If you somehow found out, that Nathaniel was missing, you would kill Joe, resurrect him and then kill him again.
Nobody in the history of torture was going to be tortured the way Joe would be tortured if you ever found out Nathaniel was gone.
"Nate!" Joe yelled, walking down the path that led to a small pond.
"What if he fell into the pond?" Ruby asked. "What if he drowned? Oooh, mommy is going to kill-"
Joe covered Ruby's mouth. "Why don't you go and sit on that park bench by the monkey bars?"
"Ok." Ruby nodded. "Try not to lose me too."
Joe rolled his eyes. "She had to get (Y/N)'s sass."
He continued his way down the path towards the lake.
"Nathaniel!" Joe yelled, pushing aside vegetation. "Nathaniel Jace Trohman, you come out here right now!"
"Daddy!" Nate yelled from somewhere in the distance. "Daddy! Where are you?"
Joe ran towards the sound of Nate's voice. "Nate, I'm right here!"
Joe found Nate sitting on the ground near the pond. His son looked up at him with large blue eyes.
"Hi daddy!" Nate said cheerfully.
Joe yanked Nate to his feet and hugged him against his body tightly. "Don't you ever run away from me like that again. I thought I lost you."
