Your pillar of strength.

-

You were a volleyball player in Seijoh, and one of the best spikers in the country. The games often depended on how much effort you'd put in, and some say that they couldn't win without you.

You believed them, and trained extra hard everyday after school, begging for the key from Oikawa. He sometimes refused, saying you had to rest or you'll get injured.

Being the cold self, you often sent threatening glares at him and in the end he gave in. "Fine, but promise me you won't injure yourself?"

"Yeah yeah," you brushed past him and into the gym, setting up the nets and bringing out the trolley of balls.

It wasn't boring without a setter, as you tossed the ball and tried to spike it no matter how off it was.

Suddenly, you rammed into the net pole and you saw your head oozing out red liquid and your right immobile.

"Shit..." you cursed and breathed heavily. The school was much isolated by now and you felt helpless.

You crawled to your bag and dug out your phone. Scrolling down the contacts, you dwelled over who to call for help.

Iwaizumi.

"Alright," you whispered and dialed him.

"Yo," Iwaizumi answered shortly.

"Iwaizumi-san, can you come f-fetch me from the gym?" You stuttered, not wanting him to get the wrong idea.

"W-woah, what? Did something happen?" He questioned with concern.

"Yeah, please just come," you hung up and you were an embarrassed mess.

You lied down and felt the sharp throbbing pain in your ankle getting worse and worse each minute. Your head was bleeding and felt the world spinning around you.

The Spring Tournament was next week, and you were definitely going to be subbed out.

-

A loud banging sound was heard, followed by a yell. "(Y/N)-chan!"

You had already passed out and succumbed into darkness.

-

Waking up, you breathed in the different medicine smells and fluttered your exhausted eyes open.

Scanning around you, you guessed you were in a hospital or clinic.

You felt a warm hand resting on top of yours, and soft snores erupting from a certain spiky headed guy.

'It's Iwaizumi...'

You moved your hand away from his and you felt your hand getting colder due to his lack of warmth.

"Oh you're awake," he mumbled groggily. "How are you feeling?" He rubbed his eyes and looked at you with his dark forest green eyes.

"I'm fine," you smiled with gratitude.

"Thank you," you added and placed your hand on his.

He intertwined your hand with his and stuttered out a 'you're welcome'.

-

You went back to school with a bandage wrapped ankle and a scraped forehead, earning concerned glances coming to you.

You had an emotional breakdown after knowing you couldn't play for the next one month and had to rest as much as possible.

(Y/N)-chan~" An annoyingly familiar voice chanted. Not spinning around, you mumbled a 'what' and continued walking.

"Iwa-chan wants you to eat with us," he smiled brightly. You finally stopped in your tracks and nodded coldly, not making any unnecessary reactions.

-

You guys lost in the quarter finals, and the team felt dull, but they didn't blame you at all. You were feeling guilty and apologetic, and when you got home, you cried your heart out, your fist pounding the thick walls.

Your eyes were red and puffy when you got to school, your (eye/color) eyes color became dull and didn't shine like they used to.

During lunch break, you sat on the edge of the rooftop, your (hair/color) hair flowing along the wind and you slouched, staring at the grey sky above you.

"Is it really not my fault..?" You spoke to no one in particular.

"Of course it wasn't." A voice interrupted your thoughts.

You knew who that voice belongs to, so you didn't bother turning around.

Seeing you being unusually sad, Iwaizumi brought out a volleyball and grinned.

"Let's play, shall we?"

You got off the parapet and stared blankly at him. "The doctor said I couldn't-"

"Just use your hands, I'll send the ball back to you," he offered with a big smile.

"Fine."

That lunch break was one of the best you've had, playing volleyball with the ace and enjoying his accompany.

-

After weeks of being together as close friends, he finally decided to break his feelings out to you.

"Eto, (Y/N)-chan," he brushed his elbow across your arm, getting your attention.

"Hmm?" You hummed in response and looked at him with curious eyes.

"Can I just say, I think I'm in love with you..?"

You gulped and his words echoed in your mind.

I think I'm in love with you.

You nodded and said a 'okay', making him desperately confused.

You saw that and your lips curved up slightly, "I think I'm in love with you too."
