you are in the third year of high school. it's been a week since you moved to tokyo and it was overwhelming. you couldn't get used to the bustling city and crowds at all.

school is starting tomorrow, and you were nervous. thoughts filled up your mind and you mentally groaned.

'what if no one likes me?'

'what if i get bullied?'

'what if i get into trouble with people?'

you were feeling nervous about school that you did not realize it was time for bed. that night, you couldn't sleep at all and stared at the fukurodani uniform hanging on your closet.

-

"time to get up, (y/n)!" you heard your mother knocking on your door and your (e/c) eyes fluttered open, getting used to the brightness.

you stretched and dragged your feet sloppily towards the bathroom to get ready before getting late.

after taking a shower and doing your morning routine, you slipped on your uniform, adjusting the sleeves of your blazer and the collar.

heading towards the kitchen, you were struck with the aroma of bacon and eggs. you checked the time - it was 7:20am, and school was a 10 minutes walk from home.

after breakfast, you picked up your bag and gave a peck on your mother's cheek before running out of the house.

the neighbourhood was already getting busy, students and adults were everywhere. ignoring the rapid heartbeat of yours, you picked up your pace towards fukurodani.

-

"good morning, my name is (l/n) (f/n). nice to meet you."

you bowed and walked towards the empty seat at the second last row, receiving many curious stares from the class.

you were busy taking notes that you did not realize a boy with dyed silver hair glancing at you every few seconds.

and soon, lunch came around. a group of girls came to you with a bright smile and invited you to have lunch with them. not wanting to seem rude, you politely agreed and headed towards the cafeteria together.

"so, (y/n)-chan right?" you nodded lightly and gave a small smile.

just then, two guys came towards the table and the girls groaned. one of the guy was your classmate, the one with dual colored hair and the other one had short curly hair with an expressionless face.

"what do you want bokuto?"

"just saying hi to the new girl! hello, i'm bokuto kōtarō!"

you waved at him and he left with a loud giggle. the girls looked at you, "he's a really weird guy."

you brushed off the comment with a quiet laugh and continued eating lunch.

-

the sun was setting and you hastily packed your bag. studying at the library was productive, considering you finished revising all the notes you took today.

you decided to avoid the crowd so you chose to take the route where not many people will walk. it was an alley that went around the neighbourhood to your house. not a good idea but you thought it wouldn't be dangerous as the sun had not set fully.

but you were proved wrong when you heard footsteps behind you. swallowing a lump in your throat, you quickened your footsteps and continued walking.

the footsteps were still behind you after walking for over five minutes. steadily, you reached into your bag for pepper spray and held it tightly in your hands.

taking in a deep breath, you ran for your life, thinking that you can escape from the person behind you.

but it didn't work, and you were left with no choice but to turn around and face the person.

the person was close to you and before you could identify who was it, you attacked the stalker with your pepper spray.

"ow! ouch, what the hell!?" the person fell on his bottom and covered his face. taking the opportunity, you kicked the person over and over again.

"stop! stop it (y/n)-chan!"

you finally stopped when you heard the person called your name. then, you noticed the familiar spiky hair with silver streaks.

you gasped and knelt down beside your classmate, apologizing profusely before helping him up.

"i'm really sorry bokuto-san! i didn't know it was you."

bokuto held a sulky face and you were embarrassed at yourself.

"i was trying to protect you because this route is dangerous, i'm not a stalker!" he whined and walked ahead, leaving you behind and ignoring your calls.

"how about i treat you popsicles as an apology?" you smiled sheepishly and his eyes lit up before nodding excitedly.

-

"wait what? you're my neighbor?" you squeaked in disbelief and he grinned.

he walked you to your front door and patted your head. "promise me not to walk home alone from today onwards," he smiled down at you and pinched your cheeks.

you nodded with a blush coating your cheeks and went into your house, waving him goodbye.

"ah! why did i do that? it's so embarrassing!" bokuto cried out when you were out of his sight and felt his cheeks redden.

"hehehe, but she's cute though!"

"he's cute though, haha."
