[Akaashi's point of view]
"Akaashi!"
I sighed as Bokuto-san's voice echoed through the crowded hallway. Ever since that day, he became extra clingy and would not shut his mouth about her.
"Yes, Bokuto-san?" I feigned ignorance, pretending not to know what he approached me for. In return, he just wiggled his eyebrows at me and I sighed again, not wanting to discuss it in the middle of the hallway.
"How's you and (your name)-chan?" He jumped excitedly and I covered his mouth before he could say anything more.
It was lunchtime, and the rooftop was always empty, so I led him there to talk and have our lunch.
About that day, it all happened like this.
"Akaashi!"
'Not again', I thought to myself. I turned around and faced the excited Bokuto, whose eyes was sparking in delight.
"Yes, Bokuto-san?"
"There's a new girl who will transfer here today! Have you seen her?" His eyes sparkled in joy and anticipation.
"No." I replied coldly. I was not really interested in anything else other than studies and volleyball.
"I heard she's transferring to your class though. The boys in my class were discussing about it in the class group chat," Bokuto-san chirped and a mischievous look plastered on his face.
The bell rang just when we finished eating our food, and I returned to my homeroom, only to see my teacher already standing in front of the class and almost everyone were seated.
"Good morning. Today a new student will be transferring to our class," the teacher clapped her hands and a girl with (hair colour) hair and pretty eyes took awkward steps into the classroom before facing us.
"M-my name is (your name) and I moved to Tokyo from Miyagi. Nice to meet you," she blushed as her voice became softer by the words.
A few of the boys were fawning over her and I realised I, too, was staring. I frowned and looked at my book, scribbling key points to take note since tests were nearing.
"Nice to meet you, Akaashi-san," the girl greeted politely and took a seat beside me.
A week passed and as her table mate, I learnt a few things about her. She's introverted and hates crowds. Her best subject is Science and her below average subjects are Maths and History. She joined the girls' volleyball team and is currently playing as a setter as well.
We had a few things in common, but we rarely exchanged words. Sometimes in class we would exchange notes and help each other study better. During lunchtime, she would stay in class and draw volleyball formations and come up with good strategies.
The second week was great. We talked a little more and I understood her better. A habit of hers is drumming her fingers against the wooden desk when she is deep in thoughts. She even got nagged at a fellow classmate for doing it and she quickly apologized.
The third week we became closer. She was sleeping in class and she seemed so tired. I tried to use my textbook to cover her but in the end, the teacher still caught her sleeping.
The teacher called her out and asked her to translate a difficult english sentence, but she was kind of still dreaming, so I lent her a helping hand and wrote her the answer on a paper.
