I'll be your lifeline.

You were suffering from depression for about 2 years now. Ever since your parents' death, you changed. That smile of yours eventually faded, the laughter of yours was drowned out by your thoughts and your tears were always painted on your face every night.
"Am I not good enough?" You whispered to yourself after seeing your best friend leaving you for another clique of mean people.
Sniffling in the covers, you slowly closed your heavy eyelids and let the tears stain your pillow.
-
You were absent from school for about 3 days now, your phone remained silent, no notifications or calls made the phone beep and ring.
It all stopped after (best friend's name) left. Usually she'd be worried and come over to yours and comfort you, but it was all in the past. I guess people change over time...
A knock was heard on your front door and you lazily sat up on your bed, wondering who it was.
Was it the mailman? Or a neighbor asking for help? The thought made you head down and look through the tiny peep hole.
There, stood a human figure without a head. Gasping, you covered your mouth with your hand and accidentally knocked down your keys.
"Shit," you cursed softly.
"Hello? Is (Y/N) in?" A manly voice called. You shivered in fear and squeaked, "Y-Yes!"
"I'm Akaashi, can you let me in?"
Your eyes widened in realization and confusion, what was he doing here. You then realized he wasn't headless, but too tall for your view through the peep hole.
Heaving a sigh of relief, you opened the door and invited him in.
"Hello Akaashi-kun, may I ask, why the visit?" You asked politely, trying not to sound rude.
He simply stared at your face with a concerned look. "Have you been crying, (Y/N)?" You flinched slightly at his question and denied it.
"I'm probably just sick," you smiled lightly, "Thanks for the concern, though," you added.
"Should I take you to the doctors? Let's go," he opened the door and you stopped him, "No, no. It's alright, I'm fine you know."
"Oh, so you're lying?" He stated straightforwardly, making you advert your gaze in awkwardness.
"Sorry," you apologized while looking down. "It's fine, what happened?" He asked while sitting down on the couch with you.
"What do you mean?" You gulped.
"You're crying last night again right?" He explained more specifically.
How did he know?
"I could tell, from your puffy eyes every morning. In class you either kept fidgeting or lying down on the table in an abnormal way," he analyzed.
You couldn't help but let the tears flow down your cheeks. "D-Did I make you cry? I'm sorry!" He panicked for a moment before you shook your head.
"This is the first time, someone actually noticed me," you said sadly.
You felt more tears coming and prick your eyes, so you wiped them away and smiled, "It's getting late, Akaashi-kun. You should go home."
"I'm staying," he said firmly.
"W-what?" You blinked your eyes, not accepting his statement.
"I'm staying," he repeated it, loud and clear. You nodded slightly. "If you insist," you whispered.
-
The sky turned dark, and you both had your dinner already, now preparing to sleep.
"I-I'll sleep on the couch if you want," you faced him and gathered your blanket and pillows.
His hand reached out and grabbed yours, making your stuff falling back on to the bed.
"Don't be silly, I wouldn't make a girl sleep on the couch. We'll sleep together, problem solved," he walked towards your bed and gently laid down.
"B-but," you blushed, and couldn't force the words out.
"I came here for you, (Y/N)," he said bluntly.
You blushed furiously at his words and looked down on the floor.
"Come sleep here," he patted the space beside him, signaling you to lie beside him.
You switched off the lights and clung onto the sheets, your back facing Akaashi. You could feel his arm snaking around your waist, spooning you. Your heartbeat accelerated as you felt his warm breath tickling your neck.
"Have I told you how much I love you?" He confessed out of the blue. You sucked in a sharp breath and whispered, "No."
"Then will you let me say it everyday if you'd be my girlfriend?" He asked sincerely. You rolled and faced him, the moonlight shining through the window, creating a dim light source, but bright enough for you to see his face clearly.
"You like me?" You mumbled in disbelief, your face turning hotter every minute.
"Love," he corrected you. "Yes," he sighed and his palm was on the back of your head, as if protecting you from all sorts of danger.
"I guess the feelings is mutual," you muttered and a smile spread across your lips.
"Finally, (Y/N). I hadn't seen that smile in ages," Akaashi said, his eyes still fixed on yours.
"I guess I'll smile more often from now on, for you," you smiled even wider and he nodded, pressing a soft kiss on your forehead.
"I love you, so much," he whispered.
"I love you too," you whispered back, before burying your head into his muscular chest.
