Forget

He was like your hero, your idol, and lover. But to him, you're just a baby sister and a friend.

That shattered your heart, as you knew that you will never be his girlfriend.

He will always be a big brother and tell you what to do. Every sentence there will be a 'don't'.

"See, Crappykawa, Iwa-chan will catch me when I jump on him," you boasted and he huffed in disbelief.

"I don't believe you, blehhhhh!" He stuck out his tongue and you huffed while crossing your arms.

"Look closely! Baka!" You scowled and sprinted towards Iwaizumi like a gust of wind.

"IWAIZUMI!!" You screamed and pounced on him. He was walking to another direction but hearing you scream his name and sprinting towards him.

"W-what!?" He froze and backed away a few feet.

'If only I didn't had to prove Oikawa wrong, if only I didn't jump on Hajime, if only I could turn back time. If only... if only...'

"(Y/N)!!!" Two loud manly voices was heard and gasps was heard before you plunged into darkness.

''If only I caught her, if only I reacted faster, if only I didn't back away. If only...'

Iwaizumi dashed down the stairs where you slipped and rolled down, blood staining the walls and the stairs. Oikawa followed behind and panic overtook him, his hands were shaking and palms sweating. He just witnessed his best friend nearing death.

'If only I didn't had to challenge her, if only I didn't laugh at her, if only I stopped her. If only...'

"Oh god," Oikawa's voice broke and Iwaizumi stared at the hospital's cold tile floors.

'Why didn't I catch her!?'

"Is she going to be alright?" Oikawa sobbed silently. Iwaizumi's face was stoic and he was quiet all the way. He didn't speak a word nor his facial expression changed a bit, he was still in shock, disbelief and regret.

"Sorry (Y/N)..." Iwaizumi mumbled, Oikawa rubbing his face and punched the wall, bruises forming on his knuckles shortly after.

The surgery doors soon opened, and the doctor had a poker face on. Neither Iwaizumi nor Oikawa knows what would the surgeon say.

Was it good or bad news?

"Fortunately, the patient survive the accident, however it seems like she'd suffer from amnesia. If she really lost her memories, there's nothing we could do about it," the surgeon said sadly.

After he left, Oikawa looked at Iwaizumi and muttered. "I have something to tell you, it's about (Y/N)."

"What is it?" Iwaizumi's eyes flashed concern and worry.

"Actually, I wasn't supposed to tell you, I promised her. But seems like she has a great possibility of forgetting about this promise," he chuckled bitterly at the irony situation.

"Tell me!" Iwaizumi grew impatient.

"She likes you, Iwa-chan. She always do, but she's loving you with such pain, can you even imagine it. Love is all about being happy and living in bliss, but it doesn't seem like it when she loves you. She cries every night when she saw girls hogging on you everyday, and I always had to be by her side to comfort her," he added with tears brimming his eyes, blurring his vision.

Iwaizumi's face flashed regret and guilt, he didn't expect her to like him.

"She... likes me?" Iwaizumi questioned in disbelief.

"Let's go in and see her, no point standing outside dwelling," Oikawa said sensibly.

"Hey (Y/N)!" Oikawa put on a cheerful face on, his tone became cheery and chirpy. "Hey, Tooru! Ne, did you bring a friend?" You smiled brightly.

"What? You... don't remember him?" Oikawa asked in shock.

'Why, (Y/N), why!? Why don't you remember me?'

"Why would I know him? Have I seen him somewhere before?" You asked innocently. Oikawa gaped and blinked. "He's your-"

"It's alright, I guess I walked into the wrong ward," Iwaizumi cut him off and walked out of the room, feeling down.

"Weirdo," you commented bluntly and Oikawa explained, "He's Iwaizumi, your crush for 4 years, (Y/N). How could you... forget him?"

My crush?

"I seriously don't remember, my head is pounding," you poured and he apologized.

"Let me go find the doctor," Oikawa made a run for the doctor and shut the door behind him.

'I don't want to remember anyone, it just make things harder when I leave the world. Let me enjoy my life, forget about love.'

"If she doesn't want to remember anyone, then she will never remember. If she already lost the will to fight back her memories, then no matter how hard we try, or how much we help her, as long as she doesn't want to, nothing could be helped," the doctor explained to Iwaizumi and Oikawa.

'I guess we shall just remain as friends, (Y/N).'
