everyone has different eye colors, maybe it be brown, blue, green or gold. the colors varies but they most people have the same color for both eyes. well, for you, it was different.

from the time you were born till you turned one years old, your eyes were closed. your parents were worried at first, but after going to hospital for check ups on you, doctors couldn't give any explanations, your parents accepted that you were blind.

it was shocking. when one year passed by, your eyes slowly opened one night. your parents were taken aback at your eyes.

they were of different colors. one was blue, the other was gold.

it was then when people began talking of you, and soon, you became the talk of the town

it was then when people began talking of you, and soon, you became the talk of the town.

"her eyes are weird."

"can she see?"

"i think it's a disease."

because of rumours saying that you had a disease, people around you distant themselves away and you found yourself alone most of the time.

and finally, when you turned 6, your family decided it'd be best if you moved to a city which you could blend in easily - tokyo.

to prevent standing out, you had your blue eye covered with a bandage and when people asked about it, you said you fell and scraped the side of your eye.

years passed and you soon turned 16. your parents were successful at their work and they seldom come home.

you didn't have many friends because once you take off the bandage on your eye, people began judging you.

so you gritted your teeth and promised yourself, to never let anyone know about your 'disease'.

first day of school, the streets were crowded and the roads were quite jammed. you walked to school and the path you took was almost empty. the morning was peaceful, quiet, and frequent 'meow's could be heard coming from the dumpsters.

you trailed down the straight alley and the school building was soon in sight. the building looked like it was built recently because of how clean it was.

you had side bangs, and you used it to your advantage to cover your blue eye, which was the left.

"i hope i won't stand out," you muttered.

-

today is the day for freshmen to choose their clubs, and you already know what club you wanted to join.

you made your way to the gym, hearing shoes squeaking from a distance. the sound of balls bouncing made your adrenaline rush and you loved it.

as you slipped the door open, all attention were on you and you made sure that you covered your eyes with your hair before looking up at the tall players.

"may i speak to the captain?" you spoke with confidence and everyone looked at a tall, slim guy with messy hair.

"the name's kuroo tetsurou, how may i help you?" he walked towards you with a smile and eyed you with amusement.

"i want to join the volleyball club and be the manager," you said. he looked at you up and down and hummed.

seconds ticked by and you grew impatient, he was pissing you off with that gaze of his.

"well?" you questioned.

"what can you do for the team?" he smirked down at you and you shrugged, "pretty much everything."

he was surprised at your confidence, but mostly amazed.

you stepped onto the court and received a ball spiked by one of the spikers and his mouth formed an 'o'.

he grinned and invited you to play a three on three match with the team which you agreed.

throughout the game, you showed how a perfect setter played and everyone was in awe, especially their official setter, whose name was kenma kozume.

it was match point, with your team leading. the ball was received up nicely for you to set and you jumped, your fingers above the net.

with a little push to the side, you successfully dropped the ball onto their court, making you take the win.

but that was not the point, the point was the opposite court was staring at you with wide eyes and agape mouths.

you were confused before realisation struck you, your hair was tucked behind your ears and both your eyes were in view.

"nice eyes," kenma mumbled and looked away and you quickly ran out of the gym, fear hitting you like a truck.

the gym fell silent and kuroo teased kenma, "oho~ you made a girl cry." guilt flashed in the setter's eyes and he pursed his lips, walking out of the gym to find you.

you sighed and plopped down on the grass patch behind the gym. you felt as if your world fell apart, again.

"now they're going to judge me, calling me a monster or something," you muttered under your breath and plucked a few blades of grass from the soil.

a rustling noise came beside you and someone took a seat beside you, making you snap your head to that person.

"kenma-kun?" you blinked a few times and he stared at the ground.

"i'm sorry for making you cry," he whispered apologetically and you furrowed your brows in confusion.

"it's nothing. just that, i'm born different, and that's why i'm afraid. i want to be normal, i hate standing out then getting so much attention because of my eyes," you ranted on and on.

kenma just remained silent, listening to every word you said. he was drawn to you, your eyes and everything. he thought you were different from everybody else.

"w-would you like to come over my house tomorrow and hang out?" he stuttered a little, finding it very awkward.

your eyes lit up in excitement and nodded, grateful that he wasn't like the rest, judging you for your difference.

"i would like to, thank you for accepting me!" unable to contain your excitement, you grinned widely and strode off, ready to go home before the sun set.

he watched your disappearing figure and a smile slowly formed on his lips, feeling his heartbeat increase.

"looks like someone's in love~" the annoying voice rang in kenma's ears and he frowned, obviously irritated by his captain's presence.

"i'm not," kenma denied.

"liar."

"shut up."
