You were Hinata's best friend since childhood, and you always know his passion for volleyball. Ever since he saw the little giant on television, he's been obsessed with that sport.

You were always the one tossing to him during junior high, and now, as you both moved to high school - Karasuno, he has been busy with school work and volleyball.

He had no time for you, but he didn't realize that. You two had drifted apart and he don't even talk to you anymore.

Despite the distance, you were still being patient with him and starting conversations with him. Being the restless Hinata, he always ran off to volleyball practice when you were starting a proper conversation.

Sighing, you put down your book and peeped at the boy sitting at the front. He was burying his head in his books, focusing intently on studying.

As time passed, you started to feel depressed and neglected, and started avoiding him and always didn't go to school.

But one day, when you're absent, you heard a knock on the door. You dragged your feet lazily towards the door and opened it with a full expression.

"(Y/N)-chan, why didn't you go to school today?" Hinata cocked his head and asked you with innocent eyes. You gulped and scratched the nape of your neck.

"I'm not feeling well I guess?" You tried sounding convincing but it sounded like a doubting tone.

"Actually, I came here because I wanted to make up for the times I didn't get to spend time with you," he started. "I'm really sorry, I had to study hard in order to go to Tokyo for the away games," he added with a apologetic, sad look.

He took your hand in his and swung them lightly. "Will you forgive me?" He pouted. You smiled and you nodded lightly, embracing him into a friendly hug.

"Thank you (Y/N)-chan! I love you!" He exclaimed and grinned, while you astonished at his words. "I love you as a best friend!" He quickly added, feeling embarrassed.

Your heart sank a little, was it because you wanted it to mean something else...?
