Let me go

-

If you love me let me go...

Those were the words you said to him, before crumbling into a world, where you didn't know him, or rather, remember him.

He was your first love, and you two quarreled like love birds the first time you met him.

After a few weeks into dating, you got into a massive argument where yelling and threatens were thrown.

That night,

"She isn't even my friend! Stop assuming things, idiot!" Tsukishima denied your accusation angrily.

"I saw it with my very own eyes! You hugged her! You didn't even do any of that to me!" You shouted, a ball of fire burning in your chest.

"No point explaining to you when you won't listen," he gritted his teeth in annoyance and you shoved him away before locking yourself in his room, sobbing your eyes out.

"Oi! Open the damn door!" The fuming blonde knocked the door roughly, loud knocks ringing in your head, making it pound painfully.

"What's the point of a relationship when there's no trust between us?" You and him whispered in unison, the thick wooden door becoming the wall between you two.

You went to his tidy study table and wrote a simple note, and slid it to him by the small gap under the door.

Everything happened so fast for him, the moment he broke open his bedroom door, you already jumped off.

He was nearly too late, dashing towards you like lightning, he grabbed ahold of your petite wrist, his heart nearly jumping out of his chest.

"What do you think you're doing!?" He yelled, his voice echoing throughout the neighborhood.

"Let me go," you whispered, staring into his golden eyes, and those words hitting him straight in the heart.

"Never."

-

The letter was still clutched tightly in his hands as he waited patiently outside the operation room.

Reading it over and over again, those three words slowly becoming unfamiliar to him, and he couldn't help but close his tired eyes.

"I don't want to let go, (Y/N)," he sighed sadly, the paper still in his hands as he fell asleep.

A few hours later, the surgeons came out, and woke the blonde boy up.

"Tsukishima-san, your girlfriend had been successfully rescued, but it seems like the great impact on her head made her forget a lot of things," the doctor explained your condition briefly.

A wave of shock engulfed him, his mouth slightly agape and his eyes stared into blank space.

The group of hardworking surgeons left, and Tsukishima rushed to see you, and to his dismay, you were still unconscious.

"(Y/N), give me another chance, please..." He mumbled while holding your cold hand, and his heart shattered.

"I'll do anything you want if you wake up. I will dress up as a vampire like you wanted during Halloween or a reindeer during Christmas, or I can tell the whole school you're mine, just anything. Please.." He gushed out, tears in his eyes.

-

A few days passed, and you finally woke up. You felt you body slowly moving, and your muscles aching from the constant stiff position.

A warm palm rested on top of yours, and you quickly retreated your hand, waking the person up.

"You're awake!" He slightly exclaimed and a smile played on his lips.

"Who are you, may I ask?" You blurted, and a hurt look erupted on his face, making you wonder if you've done anything wrong.

Tsukishima's POV

She doesn't recognize me? I should've known this'd happen. I'd rather her not remember a heart break I caused, it'll take away her pain after all.

It's better not to tell her about me, it's better if she forget me, since she doesn't remember me, she won't love me.

But the question is, can I forget about her?

"I walked into the wrong ward, sorry for the intrusion," I forced out the painful words, and walked out of the ward, closing the door shut.

The sound of the shut door indicates that it'll be the last time I'll see her, her smile, her laugh.

"I give up, (Y/N). It's too painful," I muttered, and decided to leave everything behind.

"Let me go..."
