Days till Onikage took over: 3
So, this was Kyle. His dirty brown hair was partially covering his right eye and went down to his chin. His blazing green eyes pierced through me as his tan hand was outstretched towards me signaling he wanted to help me up of the ground. "Nice ta finally meet ya, Ash." I gripped his hand and he pulled me up like I was a feather. He did it too fast, though, and he shot me up and I stumbled when I landed.
"Take it easy, Ash. Your body hasn't fully restored function after the shock of the fire, do you could collapse easily." Onikage said as Kyle and he caught me before I fell.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine, though." They both gave me the look that meant they knew I was lying. They really are brothers, because they had the exact same expressions on. I really wasn't fine; I could barely feel from my waist down. It wasn't that I couldn't feel them because of the shock; I'd gotten over that bit, and I can honestly say that it actually helped the roaring pain that was in my legs. I felt my legs buckling from under me, and I was grateful that Onikage and Kyle were helping me support my weight, otherwise I'd be on the floor. They sat me down and we formed a triangle like shape. Onikage was sitting Indian style, while Kyle looked absolutely thug; he was really muscular, and he wore a tight t shirt that showed his 6-pack. Now I knew why Onikage looked stronger than I did; not by a lot, but a good noticeable amount. I started feeling self conscious around him, looking at Kyle and Onikage, seeing how buffed they looked. I knew I was healthy, but I'm always pushing myself to be stronger, and I still have pencils for arms. I had no muscle on my arms at all, like my dad had always told me. I guess that I was more stronger stability-wise due to how long I kept things from people. I guess I wasn't focusing on Onikage and Kyle's conversation, because Kyle clapped his hands together in front of my face which caused me to jump back and land flat on my head again. I was surprised at how well my scar had been doing with not reopening even with all the craziness that's been happening lately.
"Sorry, Ash. 'Was just trying to get your head out of them clouds." Kyle said pointing up.
"It's fine. I was just thinking about something." I said.
We all talked for a while until Kyle finally spoke up. "So, in guessing you guys wanna know how me and Kage can get outta this stupid, dumb a-"
"Okay, Kyle! Let's keep this PG." I chuckle in spite of myself. They acted like real brothers; Onikage was the mature and responsible one, and Kyle was the reckless and wild child. Makes me wish that I had a brother... "Right, so anyway," Kyle resumed. "I overheard one of the guards talking about what they overheard Chaos saying in the last meeting of the Dead." I guessed Chaos was like the ruler of Tartarus or whatever they call it. "Well, what did he say?" Onikage asked eagerly. " 'Kay so, get this. Chaos said that the demons mustn't find out about the rule of Life Regainance. The rule is that if the task you're given is completed in the good way, then they will release your soul back into the human world along with a demon of your choice!" I wasn't paying complete attention to him, but Onikage had a wild look in his eyes.
"So, if the person who loves Ash the most proves it when I'm in control, then you and I are outta here?"
"That's the idea! Uh, hey, Ash? You okay? You's not lookin' so hot." I wasn't paying attention anymore. I was staring at my reflection on the ground from it being so glossy. Something was wrong with it. My reflection wasn't just mine. It was also somethings else's.
"Hey, Ash?" It was big, dark, with razor sharp teeth. It looked like the skin had some sort of ancient scripture and patterns engraved into it and was withering away. And it looked like it was about to pounce on me.
"Ash!" Its blood red eyes were like daggers and I saw it beat its sharp teeth at me. It's long, blade-like fingers were making their way around me and we're heading for my neck. It was going to strangle me... my eyes were widening as the creatures graying hands wrapped around my neck and I muttered,
"Please don't hurt me..." the creature didn't listen, and aimed its fingers at my neck and-
"ASH!" Kyle snapped and I jumped out of my trance. I saw them both with completely different expressions on their faces; Kyle looked worried but tried to hide it with him being annoyed, and Onikage only looked worried. They were both standing up now.
"U-umm, sorry, w-were you guys t-talking to me?" I asked, getting up.
"Ash, we called your name 12 times. You didn't answer at all. You looked like you'd just seen a ghost. You're deathly pale." Onikage said. Kyle wasn't talking, but he was staring behind me. His eyes were widening slowly. "He didn't see no ghost, Kage. But he did see that!" Kyle said, his voice rising as he flung his finger past my face. I turned slowly, hoping that it wasn't the thing I'd just seen. Surely enough, it was. We all started backing up as the thing moved towards us. My legs were trembling from under me. "You..." the thing pointed at me with its long, crooked fingers. I felt my pulse throbbing in my ears. "Master... Darkrai... wants... YOU!!" The thing ran towards me and my legs couldn't take it. I felt my eyes closing and people calling my name and everything grew dark, and I woke up screaming.
Serena's PoV
I could hear Ash muttering in his sleep. He was saying stuff like, "please don't hurt me," and, "leave me alone." He was also tossing and turning a lot. I was getting worried. He never does this. His skin was a deathly pale, paler than mine, and he was in a nervous sweat. I was about to wake him up when he started getting louder, saying, "n-no... d-d-don't touch me... st-stay away!!!" And then he screamed his eyes shot open. I fell back because his scream took me by surprise. His eyes had a horrified, panicked look in them as he lay there, his arm sprawled across his forehead. Bonnie and Clemont came running down the hill. They must've heard Ash's scream. Ash got up and held his forehead in his hands.
"A-ash... are you alright?" I asked lightly. He was silent, but his face said enough. He must've seen something horrifying in his nightmare, and he was shaking, his eyes widened. I placed a hand on his shoulder and started,
"Ash, please answ-" I couldn't finish my sentence because Ash looked at me like I had three heads or something, and said with panic hinting in his voice, "Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop!" He gripped his hair, forcing his eyes shut and placed his elbows on his knees.
"Ash, what's wrong? You know you can tell me-"
"N-n-no I-I c-can't!" He was trembling now.
"Why not?" I asked persistently. He wasn't saying anything. I was this close to pulling his face to mine and staring him in the eye until he would talk, but he looked up at me and I saw that same look of absolute terror I saw in his eyes when Silver came. I went to give him a hug, but he pushed me back. He never does that to anyone. Something's definitely off with him, but I don't really care about that right now. Right now, all me, Clemont, Bonnie, and Pikachu care about is trying to get Ash to calm down. His breathing started settling down after a few minutes of everyone trying to calm him down, but the scared look in his eyes never left. I couldn't take it anymore. I had to find out what could've caused him to be so terrified from a dream.
"Hey, Ash?" He looked up at me hesitantly.
"Y-yeah?"
"What was your dream about?" He stared at me, obviously cautious. He looked down at his feet.
"I-I'd really r-rather n-not..."
"Please? If I know what's bothering you, then maybe I-"
"That's just it. You can't help me, because I'm bothering me!" He gets up and walks into the forest.
"Ash, wait!" I get up and start after him, but a hand pulled my shoulder back.
"Let him go. He needs some time to himself." Clemont said. I glanced at him and my gaze went back to the path Ash just went down, and I wished I was with him. If I hadn't pressured him, maybe he wouldn't be so mad, and maybe he would tell me. But as I look at him walking away, it looks like there's something tall following him. All around Ash seemed to turn darker, and more evil. Something was wrong. Ash wasn't acting like he normally did, and now, looking at the dark aura he was surrounded by, I was almost certain; some sort of demon has taken possession of Ash, and Ash is trying to fight it off.
He's losing...
