Serena's PoV:
I waited outside in the main lobby for Ash to be done with his tests with the others. Kyle was sitting in a chair, bouncing his right leg at rapid speed. He was obviously more anxious than any of us. Onikage was holding his face with his hands, Bonnie was laying asleep on Clemont's shoulder. Alan was staring at the ground, his face stone cold, while Manon stared at him, concerned. Calem got up from the other end of the room and came over to me, and whispered,
"Come with me for a minute." I looked at him; his face was serious, but worried, like he was gonna burst into tears at any second. I got up reluctantly and went with him. As I did, I felt all of our friends eyes following us. We went outside the Pokémon Center as the cold March snow fell around us.
"Okay, playboy, what's up?" I asked him, crossing my arms. He looked at me with a face knowing he was like that.
"Okay, look," he said, putting his hands in the air. "I know I've been an absolute jerk off to everyone here, especially Ash. But I'm just trying to look out for you." Look out for me? Who does he think he is?!
"And why exactly are you 'looking out for me'?" I said, air quoting him. He sighed.
"I've been trying to get you alone for a reason..." he pulled out his pokedex and scrolled down to his trainer ID. He pointed at his name. Calem Yvonne. Age: 14. Date of birth: December 18th, 2003. Birth Parents: Grace and Derek Yvonne. My parents...
"N-no way..." I stuttered. Could it really be him? But then I looked him in the eyes for the first time. Those were definitely his eyes; I could recognize them anywhere. He gave me a sad smile.
"Long time, no see, sis." I felt the tears welling in my eyes as I threw my arms around him in a hug. It was really him. My long lost big brother, who's vanished five years ago, was right in front of me this whole time.
"Shh. It's okay, Sere. It's okay. I'm right here." He whispered as he stroked my hair.
"I th-thought you-"
"Narrowly escaped," he cut me off. "They all thought I was dead because I had Ditto take my form and help me escape." He said. I pulled away from him.
"B-but how do I know it's really you?" I asked. He looked at me, then looked down. He unzipped the top of his jacket and reached down his shirt. He then pulled out a heart locket with a rose gold color to it. He opened the locket and inside was a picture of me and him, only much, much younger, probably when I was four and he was eight. It was summer, and I had my sun hat and pink dress on, while he wore a white tee shirt with a poke ball on it and some tan shorts. We were both making silly faces and sticking our tongues out at the camera.
"This is..." my voice faded.
"The summer we moved away." He finished. "The summer you met Ash." My hands shook as I held the pendant. It was really him. I smiled.
"You're right, Jeanie," I say, wiping my face. "It has been a long time." Jeanie's been my nickname for my brother since the year before he'd disappeared. He'd only wear blue or black jeans as a kid, and he still has that habit. He gave me a sly grin.
"You're one to talk, Mop Head." I felt my face flush with anger; he'd given me that one when I got water dumped on me and my shoulder-length, honey blonde hair looked like a mop. He laughed so hard that day, he'd started crying.
"I still need to get you back for that, jerk." I said annoyed, playfully punching his arm. He got the joke and smiled.
"You know you never are, princess." Princess... oh, right! He would call me that a lot.
"Speaking of which, what was up with the whole 'being in love with me' gig?"
He put an arm behind his head and laughed nervously.
"yeah, that was the only idea I could think of to get your attention." Suddenly, Onikage ran out the doors.
"Hey, Onikage. Is Ash done already?" I asked. He looked at me.
"Yes, but we've got a big problem."
