Ash's Dark Past *DISCONTINUED*

A D-D-Date?! (Serena's PoV)

I woke up with Ash by my side, his arm still wrapped around my waist. He was still sound asleep, so I slowly slid out of his arms, which I really didn't want to do, and went into the bathroom to change. After I got dressed, something popped up on my tablet. I looked at it and I got excited. It was a ball invitation. It said it was tonight and each attendee must have a date with them. This meant one thing; New Dress! I had to tell the others once we were all together. When I came back outside, Ash was still sound asleep. He looked so peaceful. I was careful not to wake him as I headed towards the lobby. Everyone except Ash and Bonnie were waiting there. I had a bright smile on my face as I exclaimed,
"Hey, guys! There's a costume ba being held tonight at the Battle Royale!" The Battle Royale was a well-known battle castle where trainers from all different regions come together to battle to their hearts content. There's also some performances there. Everyone got excited as Bonnie came out.
"Hey guys, what's the excitement about?"
"Serena says there's gonna be a costume ball tonight!" Manon stated. She's obviously really excited about this.
"It says that it's at 5 and we all need dates to get in." I saw Alan look towards Manon, and she nodded. A full blown grin flung onto his face. Onikage, being the nice gentleman he is, bowed and asked Bonnie. She giggled, curtseyed, and accepted. Kyle found a beautiful teenage girl, and she blushed as she nodded. I felt a cold hand grab mine from behind. It turned me around and kissed it with his cold, bitter lips.
"Serena Yvonne, would you do me the honor of being my date to the ball?" Calem asked. I was about to slap him across the face, but I decided that wasn't the best approach.
"No way." I say. He frowned, but grinned and grabbed my chin, pulling my face close to his, our faces centimeters apart.
"Come on, now, princess, you know you want to." He brought his face closer to mine and was about to kiss me until a hand spun him back and onto the floor. "She said no, so beat it." Ash said sternly. He placed an arm in front of me protectively. Calem smirked.
"Aww, what? You think she'll actually accept your invitation over mine, Ash?" Calem said teasingly.
"Actually..." Ash said shyly. He turned around and whispered in my ear,
"Serena, would you like to be my date to the ball?" My face turned bright red. Was Ash asking me out?
"Y-Yes I w-will." I stutter. He chuckled. "Wh-what's so f-funny?" I question. Had I said something wrong? He smiled.
"Nothing, it's just you're cute when you're nervous." He blushed. That made me go even redder in the face. Calem was obviously annoyed with this. He stormed off to find a new date I guessed, but he obviously wanted me to say yes. Clemont was going to go with Lillie, a girl he'd met last night. She had pasted blonde hair, green eyes, a white sun dress and hat, and was incredibly pale. She said she was from Alola, which I found hard to believe with her vampire pale complexion. She was smart like Clemont, so it was no surprise that they would wind up meeting. We all head towards the stores to get our dresses for the girls and tuxes for the guys. Calem had found a girl named Blue. She had brown hair, blue eyes, she wore a blue dress, and she had pearl earrings in. She was really pretty. Anyway, we got to the store and we split into two groups; guys and girls. The girls and I headed to the only dress-only store in the shopping center. The dresses there were gorgeous! There was a white one with a red rose trail on the skirt, a purple lace one with pearl strung around the waist and trickled down the skirt, and a blue one that looked like Cinderella's dress. But there weren't any that caught my eye. Well, until I found one that was absolutely outstanding; it was a pink dress with black ribbon lining the stomach. The sleeves went to the sides and were white fringes with the same black ribbon on them, and it had a white and black striped bow on the front with a pink flower in the center of it. I found a pink, black and white floral hat, and pink choker with black ribbon and white lace on it, and some black gloves to go with it. I also found some black flats. It was perfect. I tried it on, slanting the hat so it partially covered my right eye, and came out. Bonnie, Manon, Lillie, Blue, and Kyle's date Maria all went nuts over it. It was a keeper. Maria decided to go as a vampiress, Blue got an ice fairy costume, Bonnie got a princess costume, Manon a huntress costume, and Lillie got a cat costume. We got the dresses/costumes and headed out to find the guys. They were all waiting by the map of the mall waiting for us.
"Hi, boys!" Blue exclaimed. They all look towards us.
"Took y'all long enough." Kyle laughed.
"Oh, ha, ha. Unlike you guys, we care about how we look for our men." Maria walked over and placed her hands on his shoulders. He grinned deviously.
"Well, well. Aren't you feisty. That's how I like 'em." They kissed. Well, they certainly didn't waste any time at all. Ash tried to peek inside my bag, but I closed it before he could.
"No peeking!" I say. He smiled.
"Awe come on. It can't be that bad. Just a peek?" I remembered when I tried to peek at his journal thing and he wouldn't let me, and I saw a golden opportunity.
"Fine, but if I let you see my costume, you have to show me what you were hiding in that journal of yours." I grin victoriously as his face went red. He looked to the floor in embarrassment.
"Does it have to be that?" He asked nervously.
"Yes." I say, but I realized that I shouldn't push my luck. He looked up and sighed.
"Fine, but one condition. We both get to see each other's costumes on each other, and then I'll let you see it. Deal?" He stuck out his hand. I gripped mine into his.
"Deal." Our fingers states intertwined for a while as we got lost in each other's eyes.
"Hey, lovebirds. You got an audience here." We turn our heads to find everyone staring at us again. That was embarrassing. Them staring at us, not Ash's breathtakingly gorgeous chestnut brown eyes... I got distracted again, didn't I? Shoot. Anyway, we all head back to get changed into our costumes. Ash changed in the main section of our room while I changed in the bathroom. I tilted the hat again and pulled up the gloves. The choker wasn't as hard to put on as I thought it would be. I head out to find Ash pulling some white gloves on. He turned to me and I was taken aghast. He was wearing a black mask and a black suit. He wore black shoes and his gloves were silky white. He looked so handsome I felt my face heat up. He looked just as surprised as I was.
"W-wow..." we say in unison.
"y-you look... beautiful..." Ash stuttered.
"Th-thanks... you look v-very handsome..." I managed to say without sounding like a complete fool. I remembered something, and Ash seemed to've remembered, too. He sighed and went over to his bag where he pulled out his journal. He flipped through a couple pages until he stopped. He handed me the journal and blushed. I looked at the journal and gasped. It was me. Ash had drawn an amazing picture of me on a hill with cherry blossom petals falling around me with the sun setting. It was beautiful.
"A-Ash, this... this is incredible! You drew this by hand?" I asked eagerly. He seemed mortified. He must've been shy with this kind of thing.
"Y-yeah. I did." He said. "D-do you like it?"
"Like it?" I asked. "Ash, I love this! Thank you so much!" I run up to him and gave him a hug. He returned it and I whispered to him, "Ash, you have a real gift. Why didn't you tell any of us about this?"
"Meh, I never really did it before I came here, so I really didn't want people knowing about it so soon." We separated and he put his sketchbook away.
"Come on. It's nearly 5. We'd better get going if we want to make it in time." I nod as he opens the door, and we head out to find everyone standing outside our door.
"W-we weren't listening on your conversation or anything... we were just waiting for you. Outside your room. Without you knowing." Manon said. Alan tussled her hair and everyone breaks out in laughter. Alan is dressed as a hunter, Calem a male fire fairy, Onikage a pirate, Kyle a werewolf, and Clemont was a dog. I liked how most of their costumes matched unplanned. We all head out to the Battle Royale, where a night of fun awaited us.
