We all ran into Ash's room, where he sat on the edge of his bed, staring, shaking, with his eyes wide and tears forming in his eyes. He was breathing unevenly, and his hands gripped the edge of his bed.
"Ash?" I asked. Nothing. His one hand left the bedside and gripped his shirt. I then realized what was happening; his scar. My eyes went wide and went to Onikage and Kyle. They met mine and caught on. The three of us ran over to Ash, followed by the others.
"Ash! What's wrong?!" Still no response. I grabbed his shoulders and tried to snap him out of it, but I backed up after a second. Why? Because I saw a shadow behind him. It looked like him, but it wasn't. His shadow wasn't black and white. No, it was a transparent version of Ash, only around his eyes were shadowed stronger, and his teeth were bared like a wolfs. His left eye glowed a bright yellow, while his right eye shone a blood red. It was growling like a savage dog, and the growl seemed to be coming from Ash. What was happening to him?!
"Ash! Hey! Snap out of it!" Kyle yelled, shaking Ash's shoulders. Ash turned around and swiped Kyle's arm off of him, causing Kyle to stumble backwards. Ash's eyes had that same look of insanity as they did before, only there was also struggle in his eyes.
"Ash..." I said under my breath. "...what happened?"
His eyes met mine, and then softened. Suddenly, the glows left from his eyes, turning them back to his warm, chestnut eyes. Before I could catch my breath, Ash fell limp and fell forwards. Kyle and Onikage caught him before he hit the ground, and helped him sit back up on the bed. Ash held his head in his hand for a second and looked up at us.
"What happened?" He asked.
"We were wondering the same thing." I said, relieved. "What do remember last?" Thought for a second, then said,
"Uh, it was after the last test. I was walking back to the bed, then after I sat down, I felt like my lungs were on fire. I couldn't breathe for a minute, but that's it. Until now, I don't remember anything else." He said.
"Ash." A voice said from behind us. It wasn't as deep as Alain's, but it wasn't high, either. It was a little lower than Calem's voice. I turned around to see a boy with fair skin, bright red eyes, choppy, light brown hair, a baseball cap like Ash's, blue jeans, and a red jacket with black sleeves. His eyes were locked onto Ash, and Ash's were locked onto him. We all made a little path for the boy to come over. He did and he stared at Ash for a few seconds, then pushed him backwards by his shoulders and landed on top of him. Onikage and I went to go take this kid off Ash, but Kyle put his arm in front of us. What was he thinking?! This kid can't just tackle Ash like that! But as I looked closer, I realized why he was blocking us; the boy was on the verge of tears. He gripped Ash in a hug and Ash hugged him back.
"Ash... I thought you were..." the boy said, his voice wavering.
Wh-who...?" Ash's voice was soft, but wavering also. The boy got up and kneeled on the floor, a few tears streaming down his face.
"Y-you don't remember...?" He looked at the floor, but then smiled. "Well, I guess it has been seven years."
"Seven years? What are you talking about?" Ash asked the boy. For the first time ever, I saw a look of pure aggression in Onikage's eyes. He looked like he wanted to strangle this kid.
"Ash... who was the first person you told about your sixth birthday, besides your mom?" No way! How did this kid know about Ash's sixth birthday?! He didn't tell anyone about it except me, his mom, Onikage, and I'm assuming Kyle. Bonnie and Clemont don't count due to the fact that they found out on their own, and that Black kid from a while ago only knew because he was family.
Family...
Ash was thinking to himself silently, but then the lightbulb went off. He looked at the boy.
"...R...Red?" The boy smiled.
"You know it." Ash smiled and hugged Red.
"I can't believe your alive! I thought that you-"
"I'm fine, Ash. Nothing happened to me. I was more worried when I overheard the doctor said that you might've been..." Ash looked at Red.
"If I was gone, how would I be hugging you right now?" Ash said, and Red chuckled slightly. Onikage looked furious, but tried to hide it. Ash looked up.
"Oh, right. None of you guys know who Red is." Ash got up off the bed. "Red, these are my friends Alain, Manon, Calem, Clemont, Kyle, Bonnie, Onikage, and Serena. And this is my Pikachu."
'Pikachu!' The tiny Pokémon said. Ash looked at all of us.
"Everyone, this is my cousin, Red."
A/N: I'm just gonna let you guys figure out why I ended this chapter here. Also, thx to the person who told me the correct way to say Alain's name. Anywho,
