All I see is darkness. I can't hear anything but my friends screaming in pain. I can't feel anything but sorrow and guilt, or see anything other than dark red and black. I cry and scream for them to stop, that I'm sorry, but it does nothing. They're all gone...
And it's my fault.
I open my eyes and I'm in a cage. The iron bars surround me and above and below me are metal boards. I look at the floor and see dark red near me and on my clothes.
What happened to me... I wonder. A door opens and a man walks in, his cold eyes staring into me.
"What do you want?!" I say, weaker than I was hoping for it to come out as. He smiled down at me and squatted in front of the cage.
"You know, if you were an animal, you'd be in the perfect spot right now." Lysandre said. He tilted his head and grinned evilly. I feel a surge of energy run through me and I slam my hands against the bars and make him jump back. His eyes widen, but that same sick smile stays on his face.
"What do you WANT with me?!" I yell, my voice becoming angrier with the more energy I feel.
"Ah, my boy, you must learn not to mess with us." He said. A grunt walked in, holding Onikage by his arms behind his back. Onikage looked so drained; his eyes and cheeks were sullen, his skin was paler than usual, and his head hung low.
"What did you DO TO HIM?!" I felt myself grow extremely angry and my eyes burned. I could faintly see purple smoke near the corners of my eyes. Lysandre smiled and laughed.
"Personal Loyalty." He said. I growled at him. "That's your fatal flaw. You're too loyal to those you care most about." He got close to my face and squeezed it. "So foolish. But we can fix that." Onikage went limp and hung from the guard holding his wrists behind him. I roared at Lysandre. There was no way this jerk was my father.
"LET HIM GO NOW!!!" I yell. He smiled at me.
"I will... at a price." He held up a small vile that had black and purple smoke in it. My eyes burned at the sight, but I could tell by my reflection in the glass what it was; it was Darkrai's essence. My eyes had turned blood red from their usual chestnut brown at the sight. I rubbed them and looked at my "dad."
"So what do you want me to do with it?" I ask. He smiled.
"Absorb it." I stare at him in shock and confusion.
"...say what?" He rolled his eyes at me and stood up, pacing slowly.
"This vile holds the essence of the demon king himself, Darkrai. He has chosen you to be his host. Take it, and I'll let you, and your friend go. Death's honor." He says, holding his hand over his heart.
"And if I refuse?" I ask. He gets close to my face.
"You won't." He looks at the door and Red comes in.
"RED! Get out of here!" I yell, but his eyes were a brighter red than usual. "Red...?"
"Did I please you in bringing him here, father?" He said. Father?
"Yes, son. You have done me well." He brought Red into a neck hug. I stare at Red then Lysandre and back and forth between the two.
"W-what..." Im in utter shock. Is Red...
"Oh, right. You were never properly introduced." Lysandre said. "Ashton, meet Zenaku..."

No way...

"...Your brother."
