Ash's PoV
I opened my eyes to find Onikage in front of me. We were surrounded by darkness, and I recognized the reflective floor all too well. We were back in my dreams/mind. How? I thought Onikage could only do that when he was possessing me.
"Onikage?" I called out. He opened his eyes and stared at me.
"Ash?" He looked around, realizing where we were. "What are we doing here?"
"Was gonna ask you the same thing. I thought we could only do this when you were possessing me."
"That's what I thought, as well. Or at least, that's as much as us demons knew of." Onikage suddenly gasped for air as his eyes went wide and fell to a knee.
"Onikage!" I tried to get to him, but it was like my feet were glued to the ground. Onikage got up, but he didn't lift his head. I was relieved he was okay, until a faint growl rose from his chest.
"O-Onikage?" I asked. Onikage flew his head up. His teeth were bared and looked more like fangs. His eyes had a killer look in them.
"I... I'll..." he stuttered. His gaze met mine. "I'LL KILL YOU!!" He started to run towards me, but he then started fading away, and so did I. I opened my eyes again with a jolt to find myself being surrounded by my friends. Everyone looked worried. Onikage was sitting up next to me, staring down at me with traces of fear and worry in his eyes. So it wasn't just me who had the dream.
"Ash!" Serena threw her arms around me in a hug. I was taken back at first, but I didn't fall. "Ash, in so glad you're back!"
"Th-thanks, but where did I go?" She laughs and Kyle helps me up off the ground. As I landed, his face went confused and worried.
"Ash, you're hands are freezing."
"Of course they are. It's really cold out here, and he doesn't have gloves on." Alan said. Kyle looked at him, then looked back at my hand.
"No, no that's not it. They feel like ice!" He let go of my hand, took off my hat, and brushed back my bangs as he placed a hand on my head. "Ash, your whole body is frozen! We need to get you inside." As he said that, snowflakes started to fall all around us. Perfect timing, weather. I thought to myself. We ran back to the Pokémon Center. I can't believe how long we've stayed in this town. It's probably the longest I've stayed in a town since I started my journey. I headed back to the lobby after putting some warmer clothes on to find everyone waiting for me, ready to go in the snow.
"Come on, Ash! We're going to go play in the snow!" Bonnie said excitedly. She grabbed my hand and I was about to agree, but I suddenly got a flash of the dream I had a while ago, when Calem shoved me in front of that car when it was snowing. I pulled back from Bonnie, with a terrified look on my face. Bonnie turned to me, and Serena looked at me, also.
"Ash, what's wrong? Do you not want to go play?" She asked. I snapped out of it and I tried to hide the remaining fear in my face. I then pulled the best fake smile I could muster.
"U-uh, sorry, Bonnie. I'm s-still a little c-cold from bef-fore." I stuttered. She looked at me with confusion, but accepted my lie.
"Oh, okay, Ash. You can come out whenever you feel like it." She said as she turned to Clemont. "Come on, Big Brother! Let's go!" She dragged him outside as Alan, Manon, and Calem followed them. Onikage said he was still a little tired, so he went back to his room. Meliodas and the other Sins (oh yeah, they rented out some rooms on the floor above us) went to the pool with Kyle. Serena and I were the only ones left in the lobby. I had a feeling she could see right through my lie.
"Ash, what's the matter?" And I was right.
"*sigh* just a little uneasy, that's all." Which wasn't a complete lie; my side felt really weird, like there was something I was forgetting. She then got close to my face, studying it. "S-Serena-?"
"You had another nightmare, didn't you?" She said blankly. I let out a sigh.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Yep. So spill."
"Fine." I sat down on one of the benches and patted next to me. She sat and I told her about the nightmare with Calem and the car. After I finished she grabbed my hand.
"Ash, why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" I looked at her.
"'Guess I didn't think it really mattered then." I glanced at the door to find everyone in an immense snowball fight. I got up and grabbed Serena's hand. "Come on, Serena. Let's forget about the nightmare and have dome fun." I gave her a dorky grin and she laughed back. We headed outside and joined in on the fun. After a while, we were all freezing, and it was late, so we headed inside and decided to call it a night. As my eyes closed, Serena fell asleep, too. The minute I started dreaming, I was already in for a bad night.
