I heard a loud thud come from the room next to mine, Ash and Serena's room. I guess Kyle did, too. He sat up and said tiredly,
"Wh-what? No, I'm n-not sleeping, you're sleeping..." he shook his head to shake off the sleepiness and rubbed his eyes. I sat up from my bed.
"What was that?" I asked Kyle. He looked up.
"I don't know," he said with some annoyance in his tone. "I just got up." I moaned and got up, but as I reached the side of my bed, I felt something. An urge sort of, but in the worst way possible. I clutched my chest and gasped for air. I could breathe, but my lungs were on fire. Kyle got out of bed with a curious but worrisome face, came to my side, and squatted in front of me, shaking my shoulder to snap me out of it.
"Hey. Hey, 'Kage, what's wrong?" I suddenly was able to breathe normally again. I finally said,
"We need to check on Ash and Serena" we go to the room next to us to find everyone else there. They all must've heard it, too. We could hear faint voices from the other side of the door that sounded like Serena and Ash's.
"Hey. You guys know what's going on in there?" I asked.
"No. Door's locked. Manon is trying to pick it now." A second after Alan said that, there was a click and the door unlocked.
"Hah! Who knew locking myself out of my room so many times would be useful?" She asked rhetorically. We went in to find Serena backing away from the bathroom, a horrified look in her eyes. The first aid kit was on the floor open wide.
"Serena, where's Ash?" Kyle asked urgently. She wasn't responding, but she was just staring at the bathroom door. I look there to find Ash standing there, his eyes darkened so we couldn't see.
"Ash? You okay?" I asked. No response. "Why can't we... see... y-your..." he smirked evilly and his eyes showed pure hatred as they glowed blood red. He was back.
"A-Ash... what's wrong with you're eyes?" Bonnie asked timidly. His evil gaze turned from the group to her.
"Heh. Silly girl. It is as if you were blind." He laughed evilly.
"Onikage, what's wrong with Ash?" Calem asked. I stared at Ash wide eyes in fear.
"I-it's D-Dark A-A-Ash..." I stuttered. Kyle, Bonnie, and Clemont understood, but no one else did.
"Who?" Alan asked.
"No time to explain. We's gotta get Ash back to normal before he-"
"Before I what?" Ash cut Kyle off as he appeared behind us, taking us all aback. He laughed at us again. "Mortals are too easily scared." I was about to correct him that me and Kyle weren't mortal and that we were demons, but then I remembered we were. Man, this is gonna take some getting used to. Anyway, Ash's eyes glowed brighter and the smoke around him rose even more as he stumbled back. "Grr! Stop it!" He punched himself in the head and shook off the pain. "*sigh* that's better. Now, where were we? Oh, right. I was about to destroy you all!" His hand became ablaze with purple fire and he grinned insanely.
"RUN!" I yelled. We all ran away, but Ash was too fast. He teleported in front of us before we got to the stairs.
"Come on, now. I don't want the party to end so soon." He walked over to Serena and grabbed her collar. He looked like he was about to kill her, but as he raised his arm, I drew my sword and started running towards him. What I didn't realize, though, is that Dark Ash never hurt Serena and had started backing away from her.
"'Kage, WAIT!" Too late. My sword had made a large gash in the side of Ash's waist. He looked down at it with fear and I saw his thoughts for a second. It was the memory of his sixth birthday. The day Silver had given him the scar on his back. My eyes went wide as I realized what I'd just done. I dropped the sword and backed up. I realized I'd just given Ash another scar. Dark Ash gripped the wound and muttered under his breath,
"Heh. Looks like y-you aren't a com-plete f-fool..." and with that, he vanished into a cloud of purple smoke. I couldn't believe what I'd just done. Now Ash was going to have that scar forever, and it's my fault. How could I have been so careless like that?! Suddenly my arm burst into pain. I yelled and fell to my knees.
"Onikage!" Kyle was instantly next to me. The others were, too, but it took me longer to notice them. My arm had a design on it... I let out a gasp and realized it was the same mark Ash had on his wrist. He'd had a spiral circle with a star in the center of it, and the circle had spikes going through it and the star.
What... what is this...? My vision blurred as I felt the floor come closer and I blacked out.

I woke up in the bed I was staying in. Everyone was around me. I got up uneasily and Kyle tried to force me back down.
"No way, Onikage. You need to take'er easy." He said. I wanted to argue that I was fine, but I knew Kyle would win that fight. He's always had this gift to tell when certain people are lying. I was mostly recovered, but my head still hurt a little.
"Where's-"
"Not here. We couldn't find him after he vanished. Sorry." Alan cut me off in a low tone. I looked at my knees and gripped the blanket. How could I have been so stupid to let myself get hurt after hurting Ash?! Why did I let my demon instincts take over me again? I thought I'd gotten complete control over that side of me after Ash and Serena defeated it. So how...
"Onikage?" I snapped back out of my thoughts and saw everyone was staring at me.
"Sorry, 'got lost in my thoughts is all." I say softly. Kyle, yet again, wasn't convinced, I could tell by his eyes, but he decided to ignore it.
"Well, y'all needs some shut eye, anyhow." He turned to the gang, "y'all best be goin' to sleep, too." The gang agreed without hesitation; they all looked exhausted. I was pretty beat myself, so after Kyle and I say goodnight to each other, I flop back onto my bed and sleep immediately followed. In my dream, the mark was there, and there was also another boy. He looked a little older than I was, with his blonde hair messed around like he'd just gone through a downward fan room. His green eyes illuminated against his porcelain skin. He wore a white long sleeved jumpsuit under a black vest with a red scarf tied around his neck loosely, and he had a strap connected to a scabbard, which held a emerald sword that looked like it was a dragon head with rubies for eyes. He had the dorkiest grin on, and his right sleeve was torn off. On his arm showed the mark of a dark master, the Dragon Sin of Wrath. Wait, is it really him?
"Well, well. I was wondering when you were gonna show up, captain." he smirked deviously.
"Well, being stuck in that time warp for so long, I've kinda lost track of what year we're in. Led me a hand?" I chuckled.
"It's 2016. You've been gone for about 55 years, since 1961." He stuck both hands behind his head.
"Man, time flies when you're stuck in between time rifts. I was wondering why your clothes looked so different." I smirked.
"But, that aside, I'm glad you're back..." I paused and scanned him over to see if it was really him, and after seeing his mark again, I knew it was the captain.
... Meliodias."
