General Hospital Rewrite Part One

July 18th 2016 Part 2

12:32 p.m.
     "This can't be happening again." she says. Lucas puts his hands on her shoulders. "We don't know it's them." He says. "What if it is? We just got Jodie back and Julian just got out of the hospital." Lucas hugs her. "Its gonna be okay." He assures her, sounding unconvinced himself. "I can't lose either of them." she says. "Ambulance is here, one's critical." the nurse says. "Please Lucas." Alexis says. Lucas gives her shoulders a reassuring squeeze and takes off.
     She puts her hands on her stomach and backs against a wall. "Its okay baby. Your daddy and big sissy are gonna be okay." she says. "Don't touch me!" someone screams. "Jodie?" she says softly. "Jodie!" she says louder, getting her attention. Jo turns to face her. Half her face is covered in a layer of dried blood. She pushes off the wall and runs to hug her.
     "Jodie." she kisses the clean part of her forehead. "Dad's hurt." she cries. A couple years fall off Alexis' cheek and onto Jo's head. "I couldn't do anything. I couldn't stop it." she sobs. Alexis holds her close. "Are you okay though?" Alexis asks. "I don't know?" she admits.
     Dr. Monroe walks over. "Hey, honey you mind if I just take a look at you?" he asks Jo. She shakes her head and buries her face back into Alexis' neck. Griffin looks at Alexis. "Jo sweetie, please let Dr. Monroe take a look at you. He only wants to help. You can trust him." Alexis says softly. She let's Griffin help her up. "We're just gonna go over there, alright, just a few feet away. I wanna take a look at your head. Later we're gonna do a scan of your brain. I just wanna make sure you're okay."
     She nods again. He leads her away and Alexis stays where she's standing.

     "Dad? Dad can you hear me?" he asks. He groans in pain and looks up at him. "Jo-jodie. S-she o-ok-ay?" he asks weakly. "I don't know Dad. She's not as bad as you I promise. Griffin Monroe is gonna take care of her. Alright? He's gonna take good care of her like he took care of you." he assures him. Julian smiles, how ever painful it seems. "Are you having trouble breathing?" Lucas asks. "Little."
     "Okay that's what we expected. Looks like you took a hit to your left lung. Is that where it hurts to breath?" he asks. "Yes." He answers. "We got a bunch of stuff we gotta do but we're giving you something for the pain. In just a couple minutes you wont be in pain anymore." He holds his dad's hand. "You're gonna be okay. I promise you that." He says. "Thank you son." he cries.

4:42 p.m.
     Lucas walks over to where Alexis sits with Jo and Sam. "How is he?" Alexis asks, suddenly being taken back to April. "He's strong. He's gonna be okay. Lotta rest and someone keeping an eye on him and he'll be good as new in a few weeks." He tells them. Sam and Alexis both sigh with relief, nearly waking Jo, who's fallen asleep with her head on Alexis' lap.
     "How's Jodie?" he kneels in front of Alexis and touches his sister's cheek. "Shaken. Dr. Monroe doesn't think it's too serious but he can't be sure. She got hit pretty hard." Alexis tells him. "They shaved her head." Lucas points out. "Yeah. She's set on getting her hair fixed as soon as she gets out." Sam says. "Sounds like something Jo would say."
     "They're moving Dad to a room now. He's conscious but we got him on a lot of strong meds so he's gonna be out for a little while. He'll be sharp as a knife by this time tomorrow." He promises. "Oh thank god." Alexis says, bringing her hand from the back of Jo's head to her stomach. "It seems like yesterday I was getting the call saying he'd been in a car crash." Sam says. "Yeah I know what you mean." Lucas says.
     "But it's not gonna be like last time. He's already doing much better. Right now it's just a matter of how many cracked ribs he has." Lucas adds. "I can't believe something like this happened again. I need to know who did this." Alexis says. "Mom, you can't stress yourself." Sam says. Lucas looks at the both of them. "Oh my god. You're pregnant. That's what you wanted to talk to me about at lunch." He realises.
     "I wanted to tell you so badly." she sniffs. "Well I know now." He smiles. "Do we know who called the ambulance?" Sam asks out of the blue. "I did." someone says, walking up to them. "Anna?" Alexis asks. "Why would you call someone to help Julian after you left him to bleed out on the peir last time he was hurt?" she asks. "I didn't even see Julian at first. I just saw his daughter." she motions to Jo, who's still fast asleep.
     "I saw Julian after the call was already happening. He was still trying to get up. I assume to help her." once again motioning to Jo. "Its awfully convenient you were right there." Alexis says. "I was getting lunch for Griffin Monroe and I at the Metro-Court and I was bringing it here. I didn't expect a thank you but I also didn't expect an accusation!" she says Just loud enough to wake Jodie. "Shh, shh." Alexis comforts.
     "I know you." she says softly. "You asked Dad where Arthur's buried." Jo says. "Why would you care?" Sam demands. "You didn't even bother to show up to his funeral." She reminds everyone. "Funny. That's exactly what your father said to me." she goes to walk away. "Wait Anna. Thank you." Alexis says. She takes a second, like she's considering something. "You're welcome." she walks away.
     Almost as soon as she's gone Olivia takes her place. "I think Sonny did this." she says before anyone has the chance to ask her to leave. "Why would Sonny do this?" Alexis asks. "I saw him a few hours ago and he seemed panicked when I mentioned Julian was letting me see Leo. He said he had to do something and took off. I got worried and called Julian but he didn't answer. I think Sonny did this to retaliate for Julian suing me for Leo."
     Alexis stands up. "That piece of crap! I cannot believe the nerve. He fought Ava for custody of their daughter. He's a goddamn mobster. At least Julian got out of the business for his family. If this was Sonny I'm gonna make him pay. Starting by telling Kristina and Molly everything. Then I'm gonna make sure the only thing he ever sees is the inside of a prison cell." she states. "Alexis calm down. This isn't good for the baby." Lucas says, completely forgetting Olivia's standing there.
     She hugs Leo tighter. "You're having a baby?" she asks. "I found out the other day." she says. "Now Julian's in the hospital again. I didn't even ask. How's he doing?" she asks. "Its not as bad as last time. He's gonna be okay with some time." Lucas says. "Thank God." she says. "Can you leave Leo with me tonight." Alexis says.
     "But, I was supposed to have Leo anyways and with Julian being hurt don't you wanna focus on him?" she asks. "I wasn't asking Olivia. I was telling you to leave Leo with me. As long as Julian has full custody and I'm his wife, you don't get to not give me Leo when I say so." she says coldly. Olivia passes Leo over and kisses him goodbye. "Wish Julian the best of luck." she says, reluctantly walking away.
     "Mom that was harsh." Sam says. "I don't care. You're father might have almost died to get custody of Leo. I am gonna make damn sure when he wakes up he's gonna have his son." she says. "He's gonna have all his kids." Sam tells her. Alexis kisses Leo's head. "I'm guessing the nurses have had time to get him set up in a room so we could go see him. He's probably asleep but just to check on him." He says.
 
5:27 p.m.
     Alexis sits in the chair next to Julian's bed, still holding Leo. He tosses his head around a few times. She touches his cheeks to calm him down. He opens one brown eye and smiles at her before closing it again and falling back asleep. Leo yawns and rests his head on Alexis' chest. She looks over at Jo, who's asleep on the couch. It wasn't even late but everyone was so tired.
     She makes slow circles on her stomach with a gentle hand. "You going to sleep now too baby?" she asks. "Mommy can't sleep yet baby. She's gotta eat dinner and make sure your big brothers and sisters are okay." she says. Sam had gone home to be with Danny and Lucas had a job to do. She planned on calling Kristina and telling her but at this point calling her would wake someone.
     "See baby, I told you your daddy and sissy were gonna be okay."
