6:41 p.m.
Julian paces at the door of Sam's room. Alexis grabs his arm and pulls him into the chair next to her. "Are you gonna be this much of a mess when I'm in labor?" She asks. "Oh please, I'm gonna be worse."
"Calm down Dad. I'm gonna be fine. I've been in labor for two hours at the most. Emily probably won't even be born before midnight." Sam says. "Wishful thinking Sam but she's moving fast, and you've probably been in labor for three or four hours and didn't notice. Emily's rather small so I wouldn't be surprised if she's been coming out all day and you couldn't feel it. She's little but healthy." Alan says.
"I can't believe I'm actually having our baby in the hospital with a doctor and my parents. This is how things are supposed to be." She says, moving into Jason's arms. "Hey Alan, can I talk to you alone for a minute?" Sam asks, sitting up. "I just have some last minute questions."
"Of course." He sits on the edge of her bed. Alexis nudges Julian out of the room and Jason follows them, not taking his eyes off Sam till the door closes. "Why wouldn't she want me in there?" He asks nervously, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "It's probably too personal." Alexis says. "That's my baby she's delivering."
"Exactly, she's delivering. Not you. She's gonna be fine and whatever she needs to talk to Alan about is none of your business. If it concerned Emily, she would tell you." She assures him. "I'm so worried about her." He says. "She's got a top of the line doctor and a big family by her side. She'll be fine. You stressing isn't gonna help anyone. Same goes for you Julian. Stop pacing. You're freaking everyone out."
"Sorry." He looks down, taking his phone out. "It's Nina again." He says, walking a few feet away. Alexis sighs and runs her hand over her stomach, hovering for a second. "Is everything okay with you two?" He asks. She nods. "Everything is perfect between us. Nina is giving Julian a hard time. He's so stressed and he's hardly sleeping, not eating enough, beating himself up over little things. It's not all Nina. It's everything. Emily will be a good distraction for him."

"Everything alright?" Alan asks Sam. "Everything is almost too good. I'm just waiting for something to go wrong. I'm scared Alan. I'm scared what happened to Lila will happen to Emily." She admits, holding his hand. "She's strong, so are you. Emily is gonna come out, kicking and screaming. You're gonna get that moment you see in shows where the woman's being held by her husband and you hear those first few cries and the doctor will put the baby in the mom's arms and she'll cry and kiss her little baby. You'll get that."
"You've never gotten that moment either." She realizes. "No, no I haven't. Nadia and PJ were both c-sections, I wasn't in the same state as Neil, and Harvey was stillborn. With Nadi and PJ, I didn't get to see them first thing cause they needed to be looked at, I didn't see Neil till he was more than a week old, I never got those first cries from Harvey. I've still seen that moment, dozens, of times."
"How do you do it?" She asks. "Well, I just know that even though I couldnt have that, someone else did. I'm not one of those people who gets jealous of people who have things I don't. I'm happy for them. It's how my mom raised me." He says. "You never talk about your mother." She says. "She doesn't matter now. You're stalling to keep me here so you don't have to have your family back in here yet."
"That's not true." She says. "Oh? Here I was thinking you don't want your family in here cause you don't like them seeing you weak. You provided a rock for anyone who needed someone to lean on and now that you need one yourself, you can't accept that. I know the type all too well. That's also why I'm letting your family back in and telling them to love and care for you for the next, hmm, eighteen years. Unless you and Jason have another baby, in that cause it'll be longer."
"Thanks Alan." She says reluctantly. "I will be back at seven with a nurse, then I will decide where to go from there." He says. "Okay. Don't go too far." She pleads. "I will be right now the hall. You call me if you need me." He says, getting up and walking over to the door, opening it for Alexis and Jason. Julian joins them in a second, thanking Alan with a pat on the shoulder.
"How you doin' honey?" Julian asks. "Better. I'm not as scared. I'm still anxious as Hell but, I'm gonna push a human out of me so, you know, pretty good." She smiles at him. "I'm so proud of you Sam." He tells her, kidding her hand. "Do you know what I've been dreaming about since I found out I was expecting Emily?"
"Having a little girl of your own." He guesses. "Yes, and having you by my side. Having my dad with me. Being overprotective and freaking out at every little thing. It's exactly what I wanted." She says. He opens his mouth to speak but no words come out so he kisses her head, looking at Alexis through tear filled eyes.
She wraps her arms around his neck tighter for a second then loosens up, relaxing into his arms. "Was that a contraction?" Alexis asks. Sam nods against Julian's chest. "They're still far apart." She says. "I really hope Molly and Kristina get here soon." Sam adds.
"I'm sure they will be." Alexis says. "I need to get up and walk about." Sam says, using her father as support. Jason takes over and holds her. Alexis tugs on Julian's sleeve. "Can I talk to you outside?" She asks. He nods and follows her out of the room, closing the door behind him. "What's wrong?" He asks.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." She says. "I'm fine. Better than fine. Our daughter's having a daughter. I feel on top of the world." He claims, leaning against the walls. "I love you Julian and if something is bothering you I wanna know." She says, rubbing his arms. "You need to worry about people who aren't me. Like you and little one. Sam and Emily. The list goes on. Really, I'm gonna be fine. Nina talks a lot of crap but in the end she'll never do anything."
They turn to see Jordan and two uniformed officers. He sighs and gets Alexis behind him. "She's not going with you. After the way you treated her last time, you're lucky we didn't sue your asses for child endangerment." He barks, covering Alexis. "Actually, we're here for you. Julian Jeorme you're under arrest for fraud, ad fraud or business fraud or something. You're under arrest."
"Oh you gotta be kidding me." He looks back at Alexis.

Like I said, cliffhangers. Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, and to those who don't, happy discount chocolate. It's probably gonna be a few days till the next update cause I got an Arrowverse One-shot coming out that I gotta finish (start) and a new GH One-shot, Holding On (based on the original idea for this story). I will try to get those out as soon as possible and I wanna finish Fatal Attraction and Crashing Down soon. Once those are both done I may have another story coming out but I'll have to see how long those both take to finish. We'll see. Anyways I know I haven't said it in a while, thank you for reading, the support means so much to me.
