8:13 a.m.
Alexis sits next to Kristina and grabs her hand so she can't run off. "We need to talk. Honey, yesterday we were all just on edge. No one blames you. I'm sorry I yelled at you." She says. "It's okay. I get it. Jodie got hurt because of me. I deserved it."
"No. No you don't. I don't blame you, Jodie doesn't blame you, Julian doesn't blame you either. He wanted to talk to you but you were already asleep. He felt awful for how he made you feel." She tells her. "It feels like be blames me. I know Jodie doesn't but Julian looked at me like he was expecting me to run away."
"Krissy, he really doesn't blame you. It's all in your head." Alexis tells her. "Well, maybe I deserved the blame. I kept this from everyone and you're right, trouble didn't find me, it found Jodie. I'm gonna tell the police everything today."
"Good, good. I'm gonna take a shower now, make yourself some breakfast." Alexis suggests, kissing Kristina's cheek and going back upstairs.

Cassy kisses the back of Jo's neck, wrapping her arms around her waist. "Good morning." Jo greets. "It's good now that I have you." Cassy says. Jo cracks a smile, holding Cassy's hands. "How'd you sleep?" Jo asks.
"Not great. I was worried about you. You kept waking up too. I heard you crying a couple times." Cas admits, turning Jo to face her. "It's okay. I'm fine. You should probably take a nap later. You need your rest." Jo says, trying to pull away. "Stop."
"Cas, I'm fine. If I wanted to talk to someone about this, whatever this is, it's not gonna be you. You have enough to worry about, without all my crap piled on top." Jo says. "Well I love you and I don't like seeing you in pain. I found out you were in the hospital yesterday and it wss like my world was about to crash down around me. I can't live without you but recently it feels like you can't live with me."
"That's a bit dramatic. I've just got a lot going on. Everything that happened with my sister, the crazy one. My aunt and grandmother just died, I'm still not over Tom's death, now this whole thing with Kristina, I've got a lot more on my plate than a new relationship." Jo tells her.
Cassy backs off. "I get it. I should be focusing on getting better, not getting laid." She says. "That isn't what I said! Don't do this."
"And what is this?" Cassy asks. "This. This blaming other people. This b.s. you pulled all the time when we first meet. This stuff the old Cassy would do." Jo says, walking past Cassy and out of her bedroom.

10:21 a.m.
Alexis knocks on Alan's office door. "I got your SOS. What's wrong?" She asks. "Sydeny." He says, taking his glasses off and rubbing his face. "Is she alrighty? Did her ex's parents come to take Connor? What's going on?"
"She's fine and no the grandparents didn't get close to her. I redirected them, to the cafe." He says. "Then what's going on? What's so urgent I needed to get here asap?"
"Sydney won't talk to me anymore. She's pissed and she says she wants to talk to you." He tells her. "What did you say or do?" She asks. "I suggested that maybe there's something wrong with Connor and she flipped. 'There is nothing wrong with my baby. You're wrong. I wanna talk to Alexis. She'll know.'"
"I'm not a doctor. What's wrong with Connor?" She asks. "Legally I've already told you too much. Once you talk to her I can tell you more." He says. Alexis makes her way to Sydeny's room, stopping so Alan can catch up.
Alexis knocks on Sydeny's door. "I don't wanna talk to you." She says from inside. "It's Alexis."
"Oh, come in." She says. Alexis looks at Alan, his annoyance clearly at a peak. "What is going on here?"
"Dr. Harper thinks Connor is blind!" Sydeny screams. Alexis turns to Alan. "He's blind?"
"I think so but I'd need to do other tests. It's just a possibility but she won't accept that." He says. "Because there is nothing wrong with Connor." Sydney retorts. "I've been doing this a long time."
     "Well I'm Connor's mother!"
"Both of you stop it. Alan, why do you think Connor is blind?" Alexis asks.
"He doesn't respond to visual stimuli, oh and I shinned a light in his eyes and he didn't even flinch. Sydney, I know first hand how hard it is to hear there's something wrong with your newborn, trust me I know. You don't wanna listen to me but you have to. I know what I'm saying. My wife and I, we are both doctors and when her doctor told us there was something wrong with our son, we did the same thing you're doing. We didn't listen and he was stillborn. I lost my son because I wouldn't listen to a doctor. Please, don't make my mistake. Now Connor won't die from this, but you still need to listen to me. Let me run my tests, let me call a specialist, let me help."
Sydney wipes her tears, looking up at him. "What if he is blind? Brian's parents will use that to take him. I don't know how to take care of a baby let alone a blind baby. What am I gonna do?" She asks hopelessly, looking over at her sleeping son.
"It's not impossible. I'll help guide you, I know if you ask nicely Alexis will help too, I know it's not an appealing option but Brian's parents would help. I'm not even sure yet but that's what the specialist is for." Alan says, slowly sitting on the edge of her bed. "How soon can you get a specialist?"
"I don't know yet. I'll start looking for a good one and in the meantime you should call Brian's parents." He suggests. "Okay. I will." She says, looking over to Alexis. "I'm sorry I called you. I wasted your time."
"It's alright. I needed to come see Alan anyways. I mean I wanted to. There's nothing wrong. Um, I can come back a little later." She says. "Well, Sydney, do you need anything else from me?" He asks. She shakes her head. "Okay. I'll come see you again later. Alexis, meet in my office. I need to go to the bathroom." He says. "I'll be waiting."

"So, you gonna keep ignoring my texts, and calls, and other forms of communication?" Jo asks, looking back up at Niels. "I guess I have no choice, considering we're having coffee." He says, taking a long drink of his.
"I never got a chance to talk to you about yesterday. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to you at all lately. Why don't you wanna talk to me anymore?" She asks. "It's not like that Jo. Trust me. I love you as much as I always have. You're the closest thing I've ever had to a daughter. I just, I have a lot going on. Between Ava, the surgery, my restaurants closing, I'm completely preoccupied."
"What about your restaurants?" Jo asks, tilting her head. "Oh, uh, my restaurants are all being shut down. I sold them. Not all of them. Just the ones on the west coast. I know it's a shock. I wasn't planning on bouncing back to the west coast so I figured I'd just sell them. No big deal. So, how's your step-sister?"
     "Don't change the subject."
"I don't wanna talk about my restaurants. I really do wanna talk about yesterday. Has Kristina said anything? Maybe, what this guy looked like? Who she thinks he is?"
"Well," Jo starts, leaning back in her seat, "he's a little shorter than you, maybe, I think. She doesn't really know and neither do I. Hey, Niels, can I ask you a kinda odd question?" She asks. "Shoot."
"What was Tom like through your eyes?"
"Well, he was terrifying, controlling, protective, uh, he loved you and your mom very much, he was smart, really smart. I don't know what else you want me to say." He says. "I mean, what was he like recently?"
"I don't know, I don't have a ouija board." He snaps, catching his mistake. "I didn't mean to say that. I'm so sorry Jodie. I can't believe that just came out of my mouth."
Jo fights back tears and screams as she stares at him. "That's low. Especially for you. You know what, get the surgery. Die. See if I care. You're basically already dead because I don't even recognize you anymore. Go to Hell!" She picks up a water off the table and throws it in his face, giving her foot a stomp before walking away, nearly crashing into Olivia on the way out.
"You look upset. Is something wrong?" She asks. "Just, Niels is hurting and he's acting out. He isn't himself." Jo says, shaking her head and continuing on her way. Olivia looks into the resutrant and smiles, an idea forming.

Alexis crosses her arms. "That was a long bathroom break." She comments as Alan walks in. "Nadia called. She just had a visit with her doctor and everything looks great. She was telling me all about how she can't wait for three weeks before her first ultrasound. She wants to find out her due date and all that. She's so excited. Nadi is gonna be a great mother."
"Well she had wonderful parents and she's an exceptional young woman. She'll be great." Alexis agrees. "So, what did you want to talk about? Any specific concerns?"
"Not exactly a concern. You know I'm not planning on delivering here. The center that Julian and I want to go to accepts outside doctors but only is they do a tour of the facility first with the couple. So we need to plan that." She tells him. "Oh, yeah, I can do that." He says.
"Great! I know you'll love it there. The staff seems wonderful."
"I'm sure they will be. So text me when you and Julian are available and we'll make plans. See you tomorrow."
     "I will see you tomorrow. I can't believe it's already almost 2017."

So it may seem like nothing much happened in this part but trust me, it's in there.
Is another disaster about to strike, or is everyone just waiting for the other, nonexistent, shoe to drop?
Will they make it to 2017 without another tragedy.
