General Hospital Rewrite Part One

September 19th 2016

6:32 a.m.
     "You are not going to work today." Alexis tells Julian. "I'm just a little under the weather. I can go to work." he claims. "Don't fight me on this. You're not going to work. You're gonna stay home and rest today. You're sick." she pushes him back onto the bed, which in his weakened state isn't hard for her. She pulls the covers back over his legs. "You'd better rest." she warns. "I'll take Leo to Olivia." she tells him. "Okay, I'll see you later." he says.
     "I am not joking, you need rest and relaxation." she says. "Alright, I'll rest." he promises. "I gotta be in court today. If you need anything call Sam or Lucas." she tells him. "I will, I will." he laughs, coughing a bit. She kisses his forehead. "You're warm. If you're not feeling better tonight I'm taking you to see a doctor." she tells him. "I just need to sleep." he says. "Um hum." she rolls her eyes and closes the door as she leaves.
     Alexis goes downstairs and grabs her coat. "Jodie, your father's staying home today. He doesn't feel good. I'm taking Leo to go spend some time with Olivia. I'm gonna be in court so if you need something call one of your siblings. I love you." she says kissing her head. "I love you. See you later." she says. "Bye bye Leo." Jodie says. "Buh bye Gogo." he says. Alexis picks up Leo and goes out to her car. "Mama! Foofy!" he yells. "Okay okay." she buckles him into his car seat and goes back inside for his toy. She gives it to him and he giggles.

7:12 a.m.
     Alexis walks into the Metro-Court and almost as soon as she gets halfway into the lobby Carly steps in front of her. "Alexis, I haven't seen you since you got back. How was Florida?" she asks. "It was good. Far away from you and your crazy ass husband." she hisses. "Alexis." she starts to try and calm. "No, he almost killed my daughter. You're still by his side and you have the nerve to say anything about me. Now I'm here because I'm a good step-mom and wife so I'm gonna take my step-son to his mother because my sick husband asked me nicely."
     "Alexis wait, can we be civil?" she asks. "I don't know. I thought I was insane, unfit to be a mother if I remember your words correctly." she instinctively protects her stomach. "I didn't know. I just wanted to help Olivia keep this handsome little man." she says. "I don't wanna hear it. Just stay away from us." she warns, pushing past her and walking into the restaurant. Much to her surprise, Carly doesn't follow. "Olivia." Alexis gets her attention.
     "Oh hey Alexis. My Leo." she greets. Alexis helps Leo into her arms. "Mommy." he smiles at her. "Hello my little man. Oh Alexis, look at the belly!" she laughs. Alexis rubs her stomach. "Little one's getting bigger everyday." she says. "I'm so happy for you. How far are you?" she asks. "Seventeen weeks." she answers. "How are they?" she asks. "Good, good. Big, I mean, long." she says. "Something's wrong?" she asks. "I'm not gaining enough weight." she tells her.
     "It's not severe, my doctor isn't too worried." she says quickly. "Oh no, are you okay?" she asks. "Dr. Harper told me I'm not retaining as much fluids as I should but for now it's not a big concern. I'm gonna be fine." she assures her. "I wish you and Julian the best." she says. "Thank you Olivia. I know he was a bit harsh the other day but he's just stressed. I know he called you and apologized but he feels awful he made you cry. He's just worried about this baby and he's been thinking about Arthur a lot lately."
     "I get it Alexis. I was thinking about the Nurse's Ball last year and I was remembering how happy he was. I actually found a bunch of pictures of him. I must've put my phone down cause I have about twenty selfies of just him making different faces. I almost cried." she pulls her phone out and shows Alexis. "So handsome. Can you send these to Julian?" she asks. "Of course."
     "I'm gonna send Sam to to check in with Julian at lunch, maybe bring him something to eat. He can't keep much down right now but he needs to eat." Alexis says. "Hey, have Sam come here first and I'll give her some soup she can bring him." Olivia offers. "That's so sweet. I'll tell her."
     "Well I really would love to stay and chat but I have to go meet a client and get ready for court. Julian's taking a sick day and I'm not sure if he's gonna be better tomorrow but maybe you two should spend some time with Leo. You know, go take a walk in the park, give your baby sometime with both his parents." Alexis says. "If Julian's feeling up to it I think it's a good idea. Thanks Alexis." Alexis gets up and says goodbye to them, kissing Leo's head before she leaves.
