11:21 a.m.
"Hospitals have really started to freak me out." Julian tells Alexis as they get into the elevator. "Well we are here for good reasons. I'm going to see a first time mother with her new baby and you are going to see your assistant who is no longer on the brink of death. You should be happy that's why we're here." She tells him.
"I know. It's just that I've walked down these halls for so many bad reasons. I just can't help but think of when Jodie was attacked. That's still so fresh in my mind. It's hard to believe that it was only a month ago. It seems like it's been so long." He says. "A lot has happened since. The important thing is that Jodie is okay now."
"We're all okay now. Right?" He asks. "We are all okay now. Things are slowly but surely getting better. Soon it's gonna be a new year. Then Jo's birthday, our anniversary, and before you know it we'll be holding our newborn baby and this whole year will hurt a little less."
"It hurts a little less everytime I look at you." Julian tells her. She laughs a little and loops her arm with his, hanging off him. "I love that we're married and we still flirt." She says. "Hey, I found the best wife ever, I'm gonna flirt with you until my last breath." He says, half warning half promising her.
She kisses him, starting to make a scene when the elevator doors open and a group of nurses are standing there to get in. They laugh and pulls apart, getting off the elevator so everyone else can get in. "Well, this is where we part. I'll see you in a little while for lunch." Alexis says, kissing Julian again.
"I love you." He says, going in for one last kiss. She says it back and, reluctantly, takes off to the maternity ward.

Lucas pushes a plate in front of Jack and sits down next to him. Jack looks at the plate if apple pie suspiciously. Lucas catches this and smiles. "What's wrong buddy? Isn't apple pie your favorite?"
"Yeah, but why did you make one and let me eat it for lunch? Is something wrong?" Jack asks, stabbing at the pie with his fork. "Nothing is wrong. I just wanted to tell you about something. I'm not really sure how to tell you this."
"Is Grandma having the baby?" He asks excitedly. "No, not yet. Uh, this is about me and about Brad." He tells him. "Are you finally getting a divorce? When you divorce Brad are you gonna marry Felix?"
"Jackson, I'm not divorcing Brad. We're gonna get back together. I owe him a second chance. I know how you feel about Brad but you need to give this a shot. Brad isn't moving back in but he's gonna start having dinner with us and he's gonna spend more time with us. This also means that I won't be seeing Felix anymore. He'll still be a friend, he'll always be a friend. I just, Felix and I won't be a couple."
"No!" Jack cries, pushing the plate away. "You can't go back to Brad! He hurt you! You can't! Please Dad. Please don't. Felix loves you. Brad doesn't love you. He pushed you. I don't want him to hurt you again."
"Jack, calm down. I'm not saying that Brad is gonna be a full part of our life again. I just think that it's too soon to end things. This isn't your desicion. It's mine and I've made it. We're having dinner with him tonight and you're gonna be on your best behavior." Lucas says, standing and walking out of the kitchen.

Julian knocks on the door to Hayden's room. "Hello." He greets cheerfully. Hayden looks up and smiles at him, happy to see a familiar face. "I brought you frozen yogurt. I asked Finn and he said you like banana flavored." He says, sitting next to her and giving her the cup of light yellow dessert.
"Oh, thank you so much. I needed something that isn't hospital food. But you didn't have to go out of your way for me." She says, starting to dig in. "It wasn't out of the way. Alexis wanted some too. You know, my pregnant wife makes the rules." He laughs.
Hayden laughs with him. "How is Alexis doing?" She asks. "Good. She's good considering everything we've all gone through. I'm sure I don't need to tell you about rough times."
"I've had enough of those to last me a few lifetimes. I guess we both know about that. Anyways, how was Christmas?" She asks. "Eventful and that's all you need to know. I don't wanna add to your stress." He says. "You can talk to me. You're like my only friend who isn't Finn."
"I found out something about my mother. Let's just say we aren't on good terms." He tells her. "Oh, I'm so sorry." She says, holding his hand. "I know she doesn't have much longer. Maybe you should try for peace. That is, depending on what happened. What did you find out?"
"She uh, she knew about my brother and I, how we were abused. Sam and Jodie went to talk to her and they wouldn't even tell me some of what they found out. I guess it's bad enough that they don't think I'll be able to handle it." He explains. "I hope things get better. Is everyone else doing good?"
"Pretty good. Little Emily is doing wonderful and Sam is bouncing back fast. Lucas seems really happy now, all three boys are doing good. Avery is starting to adjust to living with us. Now that you are on the mend, I'm getting all my ducks into order." He says. "That's not something people say." She tells him. "Well I said it so it's a thing now." He laughs.

Alexis knocks on Sydney's door softly in case her or the baby are asleep. "Wh-who is it?" She asks loud enough that Alexis knows neither of them are sleeping. "It's Alexis, Alexis Jerome."
"Oh, come on in." She says. Alexis opens the door slowly and goes in. "Were you expecting someone else?" Alexis asks. "My ex's parents." She admits. "Oh, I know you were scared they'd try to take him. Do you think they still might?"
"I know they will. I'm scared. They wanna take my baby boy. They wanna take my Connor. I know you're a lawyer, and you're a mother. Will you please help me?" She begs. "Of course, of course. I will help you. I'm not actually going to rep you in court but my friend Diane will. She's amazing. I will be in your corner."
"God bless you. You must be my fairy godmother or my guardian angel. I don't much money, I can't pay for a lawyer and there's no way I could ever repay you for what you're doing for me, for us."
"It's okay, I'll take care of everything. Just take care of Connor. Prove you're the best mother he can get." Alexis says, touching her cheek, wiping away a tear. "Why are you doing this for me?" Sydney finally asks.
Alexis takes a second, trying to pick the right words. "I know what it's like to have your child ripped from your arms. It's funny actually, you aren't the first person I've had to say that to in the last few days. The last was my mother-in-law and it was for a very different reason. I know the pain of watching someone steal your child from you and no one should have to go through that."
"Thank you." She cries, hugging Alexis. Connor let's out a cry from his crib. Up until this point he'd been quietly sucking on his pacifier. Sydney carefully gets him out and rocks him, not getting anywhere with calming him. "Could he be hungry?" Alexis asks.
"I had just put him down after a feeding when you came in. He just doesn't like me very much. Dr. Harper got him to stop crying like right away. He isn't my biggest fan." She says. "That can't be true. I'm sure you're his favorite person in the whole world. Alan, sorry Dr. Harper is the baby whisperer, don't take it personally. My younger step son, he's a year and a half, had a bad ear infection and screamed his head off. Alan got him to calm right down. I think he was just upset that you aren't giving him enough attention."
She gives a questioning look, tilting her head. When she does her chin gets close to her baby's head. He reaches and touches her chin, starting to calm down. "He likes you close like that. He doesn't understand that he's against your chest, he likes the skin on skin contact." Alexis tells her. She moves so the side of her lips touch his forehead and he stops crying, closing his eyes in relaxation.
"He doesn't hate me?" She asks. "It's just the opposite, he loves you so much he can't bare not touching you." Alexis says, touching the side of the baby's head. "You figured out my baby faster than I did. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it would be better if his grandparents took him."
"Don't say that. You're his mother and you love him. Being a first time mom doesn't make you a bad one. You'll learn."

12:06 p.m.
Julian pushes off the wall when he sees Alexis and walks over to her. "How's Sydney?" He asks. "She's much better than when I went in there. How's Hayden?"
"In good spirits. She can't wait to get out of here and back to work. Oh, and I think she's decided that at some point in the future she wants a baby." He tells her. "I'm surprised she didn't get pregnant to trap Nicholas while they were married. Sorry, I said I'd put that in the past. I'm very happy she's feeling better."
"I'm sure she'd appreciate that. It was funny, she was telling me how she wants to start a family with Finn just as he walked in and he nearly puked. I left the love birds to their business so we could get on with ours. I was thinking after lunch we could go for a walk in the park, it's so warm out today." He says. "That'd be nice." She says, holding his hand as they walk back to the elevators.
Griffin runs up and grabs Julian's sleeve. "I was just about to call Lucas to tell you this. Thank goodness you're here it's so much easier in person-"
"Griffin, what do you have to tell me?" He asks calmly, putting his hand on the jumpy doctor's shoulder. "Your mother is being rushed to the emergency room. It's not good Julian. She was on the floor and unresponsive." He tells them. Julian nods. "Not my problem."
"She's your mother." Griffin says. "She's nothing." Julian says. Alexis pulls him towards the elevator and they get on, the doors closing slowly, leaving Griffin standing alone in confusion.
