General Hospital Rewrite Part One

October 31st 2016 Part 2

5:34 p.m.
     "How do we look?" Julian asks, walking downstairs with Leo. "Oh my god! You are the cutest things!" she beams, touching Leo's cheeks. He laughs and flaps his arms, making bird sounds. She almost melts looking at him. Leo head butts Julian's cheek. "Silly boy." he comments. "Bood." he squeaks. "Yes Leo, good job buddy. You are a bird." he says. "How do I look?" Jodie asks, coming down the stairs. She strikes a pose. Unlike how her costume's supposed to be worn she's got clothes under it so no actual skin is exposed.
     "Creepy." Julian says. "You look a bit scary but I know it's what you're going for." Alexis says. "Even with layers underneath you'll freeze out there." Julian tells her. "So will you with your chest all open like that." she retorts. He looks down at his loose fitting shirt. "Fair enough." he says. "Well Leo and I on the other hand will be warm and toasty." Alexis says. "Foofy!" Leo says, reaching for his toy. Julian picks it up and gives it to him. The doorbell rings. Jo's closest so she opens it. "Sam!" Alexis cheers. "Hey everyone." she says. "Auntie Jodie look I'm a dog." Danny says. "You are. And you are just the cutest little dog I've ever seen." she says. "Alright, I gotta say hi quickly and go get dressed." Alexis says, giving Sam a hug and dropping to kiss Danny's forehead. "You are just adorable." she beams. He smiles and hugs his grandmother. Julian passed Leo off to Jodie and heads up the stairs after Alexis. "Jo your makeup looks great." Sam comments. "Thanks it looks me like an hour." she says.
     "Auntie Jodie, you like a cheerleader." he says. "I do?" she asks, flipping her pigtails. Danny laughs and Leo touches the wig. "Gogo?" he says. "I don't think Leo recognizes you." Sam says. Jodie kisses his forehead and holds him close for a second before taking the wig off. "Gogo." he realizes. She smiles at him. Danny starts laughing. "What are you laughing at?" Jo asks. "Your hair!" he says. She runs a hand over her head, realizing her hair's a mess. She laughs and shakes it more. Leo giggles and wraps his arms around Jo's neck. "Oh no." Jo says. "What's wrong?" Sam asks.
     "Danny, your mommy doesn't have a costume on." Jodie says. "No, no costume for me but I am wearing festive attire." she opens her jacket to show the shirt she's wearing. Its a black long sleeve with a pumpkin on the stomach. Above it, it says "Mommy's little pumpkin."
     "Aww, Emily's a pumpkin." Jo beams. "Yeah, she gets a costume but no one's gonna see it cause I'm gonna stay bundled up all nice and warm." she says. "A month and a half before she can actually be here with us." Sam says. Jo puts Leo on the ground and Danny leads him over to the living room so they can play with a pile of toy bricks. "You excited?" Jo asks. "Of course I am. I'm just nervous. Jason and I went through a lot with Danny and just, there's other stuff you don't know or need to know. Its the past." she says. "Emily's gonna be okay. I think the world owes you and our family that much." she comforts. "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's been a rough year for everyone in our family." she says.
     "My mother died." Jo starts. "We were all held hostage at Mom and Dad's wedding." Sam continues. "Dad got shot." she adds. "Mom miscarried, Dad was abducted, Arthur died." Sam lists. "Dad got his ribs shattered and I got my head bashed in." Jo says. "Dad almost lost Leo. You got hurt at school." Sam continues. "My asshole of an uncle tried to take me away." Jo hisses. "Language." Sam says. "Then Benson Jameson got out." she adds. "Yeah, I know. You'll be okay. None of us are gonna let anything happen to you."
     "I know Sam. I'm not scared." she lies.

     Alexis pushes Julian against the wall of their bedroom and kisses him. "So that's why you wanted me to come help you change." he says, getting kissed again. "Here I was thinking you just needed my help." he adds once she pulls away. She grabs his shirt and backs up till she's sitting on the bed. "What did I do to deserve this?" he asks as she untuckes his shirt. "Oh you didn't do anything. I want this." she says. "They're waiting on us." he reminds her. "So you gotta be quick." she teases.

5:52 p.m.
     Alexis comes down the stairs, Julian following close behind. "Nice of you to join us." Sam says from the couch. "There was a problem with my costume." Alexis says. Jo laughs. "Sure." she says. "We'd better not waste any more time." Julian says. Leo gets up and runs over to Alexis, before hugging her legs. "Mom, that costume looks really warm." Sam says. "It is, and snug. Half the back is undone." she tells her. "Well we'd better not keep Jason and Jake waiting." Sam says. "We're stopping by the Metro-Court." Julian says.
     He gets a few stares. "Look how cute he is." he motions to Leo. "I have to bring him to see his mother." he says. Alexis rolls her eyes and picks up Leo. "Okay, but it's in and out. We already lost daylight." Alexis says.
