"You feeling any better?" Alexis asks Julian. "A little but still not great." he replies. "Well take it easy today. You still going to the park with Olivia and Leo?" she asks. "Yeah, Olivia's free and so am I so we need to take this time for Leo." he says. "Bundle up, it's already getting cold outside. This winter is gonna suck." she says. He moves until he can put his head on her lap. "I'm gonna make this the warmest most snuggly winter you've ever had." he promises.
"I'm gonna kiss your belly." he warns. He lifts her shirt just enough to kiss bare skin. She laughs and squirms. "You're tickling me! You need to shave!" she laughs. "I am? Oh really?" he rubs his cheek against her stomach. "Stop it you silly." he moves his head back to her lap and looks up at her. "I love you." he says. "I love you too." she says. "I love you more." he retorts. "I'd kiss you but you're sick." she says. "I don't want you and baby getting sick." he says. "We gotta go and get ready, well I do." she says.
"I'll be downstairs in a little while." he tells her. He takes his head off her lap so she can get up. She heads downstairs and over to Jo. "Hey honey, how are you?" she asks. "I'm good. How's Dad feeling?" Jo asks. "Better than yesterday but he's still really sick." she tells her. "I hope he feels better soon. I gotta go. Wish him my best." she smiles. "I will. He good Jodie. I love you." she kisses her forehead. "I love you too." she says.7:21 a.m.
Alexis walks into Kelly's and over to where Diane's sitting. "Hey." she greets. "Look who's been avoiding me." she says. "I just got back, we've both been busy." she sits across from her. "No no no. Stand back up. Lemme see the belly." Diane says. Alexis stands and turns to the side. "You're still stunning Alexis." she tells her. "Thank you. Say it again in five months." she says. "You'll looks stunning then too." she says. "I hope so. Dr. Harper's saying baby is gonna get big, and so am I."
"You and Julian are just so lucky." Diane says, Alexis sits back down. She rubs her stomach. "Do you wanna order something or or just sit there?" she asks. "I actually don't feel so great." she says. "Oh no, everything alright?" she asks. "I think so." she answers. "Just hunger pains. I want a muffin." Alexis tells her. She orders two muffins and looks back to Diane. She glances over just as the door opens and her doctor walks in. "That's actually my doctor now."
"Oh hey, Alexis." he greets. "This is my wife Carla." he says. "Hi." Carla extends a hand. "Hi, so nice to meet you." Alexis says. "Oh, this is my friend Diane." Alexis introduces. "You'd better be taking care of her." Diane says. "I'm doing my best." he laughs. "Actually Alexis, I kinda wanted to see you. I can put your mind to rest and you can stop emailing me. It's not cancer." he tells her. She smiles and stands to hug him. "That's such great news." she says.
"Yeah it is. I'm actually going into surgery Friday." he tells her. "So hopefully by Monday I will be back at work." he adds. His wife hits him. "Sorry, next Monday." she glares at him. "Better." she says. "I'll be back to work soon." he says. "You just take care of yourself." Alexis tells him. "You too. You don't look so good." he tells her. "I feel, I feel like I'm gonna be sick." she covers her mouth. "Okay sit down."
She sits and he kneels in front of her. "Where's this coming from?" he asks. "Its not the baby. I just feel nauseas." she tells him. "You're okay, it's okay." he rubs his hand in a slow circle around her stomach. "Take a deep breath, just breath." he directs. "I'm fine, you know what, my husband has a stomach bug, he probably gave it to me." she says. "Well, maybe you should come get looked at anyways. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if you walked out of here and something happened." he says.
"That's a good idea." she says. "Do you want someone to call Julian?" he asks. "Oh no no. He's sick right now and he needs to spend time with his son and Leo's mother. Its nothing, I'm telling you now. Its what my husband has. If it is something, then I'll call him." she says. "Diane, uh, can you please help her to the hospital." she nods. "I'm sorry Car, duty calls." he kisses his wife. "I'll see you tonight hero." she says. "You'll be okay." Diane assures Alexis. "Yeah, I'll be fine." she smiles hopefully. The light blue walls seemed almost too familiar. Julian turns his head to see behind him. He was in Jennifer's old house. He takes a few steps and opens the door to Jodie's room. As he remembered the carpet was soaked with blood and it was splattered on the walls. He hadn't remembered there being music though. The song brings memories of his daughter as the tiny newborn she was. The room blurs as tears fill his eyes. "Daddy." a small voice says. He turns and looks down at his daughter. She was no more than two, wearing the overalls he'd put her into the last time he'd seen her. He kneels and goes to hug her but she fades away.
He wakes up in a panic, sweating and crying. He goes for his phone, knocking it off the bedside table. He falls over the side of the bed to get it. He calls Jodie's cell. "Jojo?" he asks. "Yeah, what's wrong Dad?" she asks. He takes a deep breath and relaxes. "Nothing, I was just checking in. I love you so much baby girl." he says. "I love you too Dad but I gotta go." she hangs up. The uneasy feeling still sits in his stomach, than again, he hadn't eaten almost anything in two days. He calls Dr. Maddox. "Hey, it's Julian Jerome, can I come in and talk with you this afternoon?" he asks. "Yeah three sounds good. Thank you so much." he hangs up.
"Meet Olivia for ten, I still got two hours of sleep." he tells himself.Am I mean enough to hurt Alexis or baby Jerome? Maybe I'm just mean enough to scare you guys into making something from nothing? I know I promised more comedic things to come and they will come.
