9:27 a.m.
Jo sits up in bed and looks around her bedroom, comforted by the familiar walls and furniture. A little light pours in from the window but the room remainings fairly dark. She leans over the side of the bed and pulls Stars' knife out from under her bed. It's not an expensive knife, it's not cheap either. It'd probably been a present or a special thing to him, and he'd given it to her.
Its got a brown handle with a red tint and black features. The blade itself is about six or seven inches with a serrated edge. A hunting knife that's probably never seen the woods. There's a FC carved into the handle. She holds the knife, the knife that saved her life. No, Stars had saved her life. His brown eyes still in her mind, every detail about his face burned into the back of her mind.
She works up the nerve to get out of bed and put some real clothes on, motivated mostly by hunger.

Julian pulls Alexis close, Avery already on his lap. She holds his right hand with hers, looking at their rings side by side. "We may be some of the luckiest people in the world. We got Jodie back, again." She says, kissing the back of his hand. "It's incredible. Kind of unbelievable." He says.
"I felt it. I just, I just knew there was a chance. I knew she might've been out there." Alexis says, a warmth filling her chest. She'd so hoped she'd been right, and she was. "I'm so glad she's okay but I still wanna know how. How did she swim to shore and not die of hypothermia? It just doesn't make sense, you know, things aren't adding up. Jo's keeping something from us."
"She's alive and home. That's what matters now. Yesterday we were mourning her and today she's back, upstairs in her room. I think we should accept our miracles." She says, putting her hand on her stomach, drawing his attention to it. "You're right, as always. If Jo wants to tell us, she will, but that didn't work out so well last time. I'm gonna ask her."
"At least wait till she comes down and eats something." Alexis suggests. "I will." He says. Avery squirms out of his arms and sits between them. "I think someone wants our attention." He says, smiling down at Avery. "Avery, where's your Auntie Alexis?" He asks in a high pitched voice. Avery turns to Alexis and points at her. "That's right! And who am I?"
"Unkie Jules." She says proudly. "That's me. What's your name?" He asks, tickling her stomach. She giggles and swats his hand away. "Avery." She says. "Who else do we know?" He asks. She shrugs. "Oh, you know other people. Who are your sisters?"
"Kiki and Kissy! And Mommy. Unkie Jules, where Mommy?" She asks, the mood turning serious. He sighs and brings her back onto his lap, kissing her head. "Mommy went away. She loved you very much." He says. "Mommy go away? She come back?" She asks, standing on his legs and pressing her forehead against his. "No, no your mommy isn't coming back."
She sits back down, a few tears starting to form in her eyes. "Why Mommy leave?"
"She had to. She'll always be with us. In our hearts." He puts to fingers to her chest and moves them to his. She follows his hand with her eyes. "I no want Mommy in my heart. I want Mommy here." She says, sticking her bottom lip out. "So do I."
Jo starts coming down the stairs, catching Julian and Avery's attention. "You know her too. That's Jojo." Julian tells Avery. "Jojo. Hi Jojo!" Avery greets, seeming to have forgotten about her conversation with her uncle. Jo leans over the back of the couch between her parents. "Did you eat breakfast yet or do you want me to make some for us?" She asks.
"You just come relax. I'll go make something." Julian says. Jo smiles and gets on the couch. Julian passes Avery over to her and heads into the kitchen. Jo catches Alexis staring out the corner of her eye and looks over. "I was scared for you. I thought I lost you." She says. "I was scared too. I didn't know if I was gonna make it out alive. I'm sure glad I did."
"Me too. I can't stand the thought of you not being here. Neither could your father. He was a mess all day yesterday. I mean, so was I. Jo you are one of the most important things in the world to me and your dad. You may have only been in my life for six months but you are a daughter to me. You're just as important to me as Sam, Molly, and Kristina."
"You're as much of a mother to me as mine was, if not more. I love you Alexis." She tells her. "I love you too Jodie. If you ever die again I'm gonna kill you." She threatens. "I don't plan on dying again any time soon." Jo promises.
