General Hospital Rewrite Part One

September 26th 2016 Part 2

10:02 a.m.
     The door to Julian's office opens. "Sonny, tell me what you found." he tells him. Sonny sits across from him. "Well, I got a lot on that Nathan Waller you killed. He had a new partner. Veronica Heidegger, she's pretty closed off. None of my men could find anything else on her. What we did find, that's interesting." he says. "What'd you find?" Julian leans in. "The organization, it's not one big thing, it's a bunch of smaller groups, all working under the same council." Sonny tells Julian.
     "Who's the weakest link?" he asks. "The Russians, but the Chinese are more likely to turn." he says. "We aim for the Chinese, then the Russians." Julian states. "I found more, can I continue?" Sonny asks. "Yeah, keep going." Julian tells him. "Well, turns out before Heidegger, Waller had another partner. Another woman, her name was Jennifer. That's all I have on her." he say. Julian freezes. "Jennifer?" he asks. "Yeah, she might be a person of interest." Sonny says. "She isn't."
     "Why not?" Sonny asks. "She's dead." Julian tells him. "How'd you know that?" he asks. "That's Jodie's mother." he states.

     Alexis gets into her car and takes a deep breath. She'd wanted to stay but felt out of place with the Harper family. Carla had promised to call as soon as anything happened. She plays with her wedding ring, wanting to call Julian but knowing he's probably busy. She puts on hand on the steering wheel and the other on her stomach. She shakes her head and starts the car.

     Jodie walks out of the locker room, back in her own clothes. She pulls out her phone and checks Twitter. Alex comes up behind her and from a safe distance calls her name. She whips around. He's far enough she doesn't hit him. "See I've learned." he laughs. "Don't sneak up on me Alex!" she barks. He takes a step back. "Sorry Jo, I called your name but you were in your own world." he claims. "I have a lot on my mind." she tells him. "Wanna talk?" he puts his arm over her shoulders.
     "I have a lot of work I still need to make up. I missed a project in almost every class, I've got more homework than I have time, and my teachers are all riding my ass. They all want me to go during free block." she stresses. "You just gotta ask for help. Get a friend to come help with work, make it go faster." he tells her. "What friend? You?" she asks. "If you want me to help, I'm great at studying." he whispers. She smiles at him. "Maybe I can convince my parents to let me spend some time after school. But not today." she tells him.
     "What, why?" he asks. "My mom's really stressed, one of her friends is in the hospital and my dad's always busy with work. I'll ask them first. I don't wanna dump something on them last minute." she explains. "Okay, well, I'll see you." he says, defeated. "I gotta go to English. I'll see you at lunch Alex." she walks off. He grunts and goes in the opposite direction.

     Sonny stares at Julian. "Your daughter's mother was partnered with the guy, who had that same daughter raped, who that daughter later tired to kill?" he asks. "You don't talk about my daughter, especially not that. But yes That's correct." he says. "So our best lead is a dead woman?" he asks. "Yeah. A dead woman who's been living under a fake name for almost fifteen years." Julian says. "A dead woman who just happens to be my daughter's mother." he adds.
     "Maybe she knows something." Sonny guesses. "Jen's dead." Julian reminds him. "I mean Jodie." he clears up. "I'm not involving my daughter." he states. "I'm not saying we involve her. I'm just saying she might know something." he says. "She doesn't and she's not knowing we're looking into these people. Jo will tell Alexis and I cant have her knowing. She's already stressed with the baby. If you say anything to either of them, I'll call Jordon now and tell her I remember who attacked me." he warns.
    "I wanna protect Alexis too." Sonny says. "From now on, you do not speak about my family, ever." Julian states. "Noted." Sonny agrees. "Okay, what else did you find?" he asks. "I found something I don't understand." Sonny says. "That doesn't surprise me." Julian mocks. "Bust Corp, the company Nathan Waller ran, just bought a prison." he tells him. "What prison?" Julian asks. Sonny slides him a piece of paper. "I know two reasons they bought this one prison in particular." Julian says. "Why?" he asks. "To hurt me." he says. Sonny narrows his eyes. "Who's there?"
     "Two men who did horrible things to two different people I love." he says. "They plan on having a bunch of cases reviewed and getting a couple dozen inmates released." Sonny says. "I have a feeling I know two of those inmates names." Julian says. The door opens and Olivia walks in. "Hey Julian, I know things are though so I wanted you to have Leo tonight, why is Sonny here?" she asks. "Uh, Corinthos Coffee is now a major ad partner with Crimson." he lies quickly.
     Olivia smiles. "Its nice to see you two not at each other's throats." she says. "Yeah, well, and eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Julian states. "I'd love to take Leo for the night. It would really help Alexis. Thanks." he says. "Uh, that's all for now. If we need to talk about anything else I'll call you." Julian says. He gets up and walks out past Olivia. Olivia points as he walks out. "Its best for the magazine." he says. "I'm glad you're being the bigger man. When you're leaving later find me and I'll make sure you get Leo and all the things he'll need." she says. "Alright, I'll see you later."

4:32 p.m.
     Alexis starts running as soon as she sees Leo. "Oh beautiful boy!" she sings, hugging him. He giggles at her embrace. "Someone's in a good mood." Julian comments. "Alan woke up. I got the call from Carla after lunch and I rushed over. He's groggy and tired but he's awake and he's gonna be okay." she says excitedly. "That's so great. I'm happy for him and his family." he says. She nods and sits next to him. "He's not gonna be back at work for a month or so but it's okay cause he's gonna take his time to recover."
     "So you're without a doctor for a month?" he asks. "No, if I need him I can always call Alan. Or Lucas, have you forgotten your son is a doctor?" she asks. "I haven't forgotten. I actually talked to Lucas today. October fifteenth, save the date because that is when they are finally tying the knot." Julian tells her. "Oh finally. I'm so excited!" Alexis says. "Me too. Apparently they have a big surprise they're gonna reveal at the wedding." Julian teases. 
     "Oh, I can't wait." she says. "It's been a year and a half, I can hardly wait any longer but Lucas and Brad have promised it's gonna be worth it." he says. "Looks like a streak of luck is coming our way." Alexis says. "About damn time." Julian states. His kisses Alexis and Leo.

Wonder what that surprise is. Oh, and another surprise soon enough on top of that. Might be good, might be bad.

Oh and has anyone else watched or is watching This Is Us, cause I am and I love it. I highly recommend it.
