Alexis opens her eyes and looks around her bedroom. She reaches over and touches Julian's chest. He's tossing and making noises like he's scared. She places her hand on his chest to wake him without startling him. He opens his eyes and looks around till she comes into focus. She wipes a tear off his cheek. "Nightmare?" she asks. "Yes." he whispers. "What was it about?" she follows up. "I was on the pier, I'd just gotten shot and there were people, just standing around. I was bleeding out and crying for help but they just kept talking. It was like I wasn't even there, like I wasn't dying in front of them. I was getting colder and colder. I felt the ground start to slip away from me. I felt death's icy hand pull me. The pain turned to numb, the numb turned to fear, and that's when you woke me up."
"No one's gonna hurt you here. You're safe here, with me." she promises, pressing herself to him. "I'm safe. I'm safe." he repeats to himself, softly.7:36 a.m.
"Come on Jojo, I know you had a slow start but you don't wanna be late." Julian says. She groans and shovels more cereal into her mouth. Alexis comes downstairs with Leo, who's still mostly asleep and clinging to her. Julian rubs Leo's back. "Hey little man." he says. He smacks his dad's hand. "Oh I see how it is." he teases. "He wasn't very happy I woke him up." she tells him. "Well he doesn't seem mad at you." he comments. Leo wraps his arm around Alexis' neck to keep himself as close to her as possible.
"I'm gonna drop Jo off at work and head my office for a little while. I'll be back about ten and we'll go pick up my mother from the airport." he says. "I can't wait to see Grandma again." Jodie says. Julian smiles. "Neither can I. Now come on, you can't be late to your first day at the movie theater." he says. "I am. I am." she complains, grabbing her bag and heading to say goodbye to Alexis. She kisses her cheek and nuzzles Leo's cheek. He groans again. "I will have this little man fully awake by the time get you back." she promises Julian. "I love you." he says, kissing her. "I love you too little guy." he tells Leo.
He puts his hand on Jo's head and guides her to the door. She rushes past him and gets into the driver's seat. "You wanna drive?" he asks. "Good practice." she says. "God help me." he says, giving her the go ahead.8:23 a.m.
Julian knocks on the door to Nina's office. "What do you want?" she asks. "I have a proposition for you." he tells her. "What?" she asks. "I know you're very busy and often times that leads to you asking me to do your work. I have a solution to that." he says. She narrows her eyes. "You hire an assistant." he suggests. "But you already do the work." she points out. "Yes but I have a lot to do." he reminds her. "Too bad." she says. "Come on, it doesn't have to be a big thing, just someone to help keep things organized and do work that's easy but takes a lot of time. Give someone a job and make yours easier, two birds, one stone."
"Who do you have in mind?" she asks him. "Kiki." he gives a grin. "Hmm, I'll think about it." she tells him. "This isn't for me. It's for Kiki. And you." he adds. She narrows her eyes even more. "I guess someone to help sort e-mails wouldn't hurt. Especially not if it's Kiki." she gives in. "I'll call her and tell her. She's gonna love working for you." he tells her, taking off before she can change her mind. He makes his way to where Dillon said he'd be. Julian knocks on the door. "Got a second?" he asks. "Yeah, sure. What'd ya need boss?" he asks.
"I wanna talk about you opening up an internship position." he tells him. "Oh, okay. Can I have details?" he asks. "Yeah, just an internship for a college student who wants hands on experience in photography and working at a big ass media company." he explains. "Well that sounds awesome but I got a lot on my plate and I'd probably only be able to take one intern." he tells him. "That's fine. I already have one in mind." Julian says. "Oh really? Who?" he asks. "Kristina Davis." he says. "Alexis' daughter?" he asks. "Yeah, she took up an interest in photography."
"I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion." he says. "Have a nice day." he says. "You too." Dillon says, going back to his work. Julian steps outside into the hallway and pulls out his phone. "Hi, Ms. Barnes, it's Julian Jerome." he greets. "Nothing's wrong, I just called to tell you that you got the job and you start Monday morning." he says. "I'm excited too. Your welcome." he hangs up and makes his way to the elevator. He walks into the restaurant and goes to leave. Olivia stops him. "What can I do you for?"
"I forget to give you something last night." she pulls out Leo's stuffed animal from her bag. "He forgot Foffy." she tells him. "Oh thank you so much! He screamed for like an hour last night. Alexis got him up this morning he was all grumpy and tired. We couldn't, for the life of us, figure out what we were missing." he says, taking the toy. "Well make sure our little man gets his Foffy." she tells him. "I'm actually heading home just after this next stop." he says. "What's your next stop?" she asks. "Private." he states.
