you trudged along the streets of los angeles, upset, confused, and hurt.

you and your boyfriend of two years just broke up because you found out he had been cheating on you for about three months. you had left your shared apartment with nothing except the clothes you were wearing and your phone, but it had died.

grayson had watched you go, not bothering to explain himself, or come after you. but you never really gave him a chance. you were mad, and sad. you yelled at him, not letting him speak.

you heard thunder in the sky, and sighed, picking up your pace a bit. it was late at night, so not much was open. you were cold, having only being in a tshirt and sweatpants. the cool air went right through you. [ a/n; ik this is in la, but it's for the story. and, i'm sure it isnt always super hot there.. ]

all of a sudden, it started raining. not to hard, but just enough that you were soaked in minutes, and even more cold. you rubbed your arms, hugging them against your body. your clothes clung to your body, and you were thankful you had a black tshirt on, so it wasn't see through.

you walked past very few people, who all had umbrellas and gave you sympathetic looks. you looked down, embarrassed. your wet hair stuck to the sides of your face.

you heard a car behind you. not many of those had gone past either. the car came to a stop beside you. you glanced over to it, and once again, picked up your speed. you were already drenched and shivering, you didn't need to be kidnapped also.

"y/n!" you heard a familiar name shout. you looked behind you, and saw your ex boyfriend, grayson dolan. you shook your head, and kept walking. you heard the slam of a car door behind you, and running footsteps, splashing in the puddles that had formed. "y/n! wait up." grayson chased after you, getting closer.

"what, grayson? can't you leave me alone?" you snapped, stopping dead in your tracks and turned around.

"no, i can't. because i love you, y/n. and i'm sorry for everything. i've been a jerk, and a pretty bad boyfriend, but i promise i never cheated on you."

"then who is that-"

grayson shut you up by dropping his umbrella, and crashing his lips against yours with so much force that you stumbed backwards. you refused to kiss him back though.

grayson pulled away, and looked at you. you could see so much pain in his eyes.

"who is that girl?" you breathed, staring him dead in the eyes.

"you'll laugh when i tell you." grayson replied, but you just stared at him, a blank expression on your face.

"who is she?"

grayson took a breath. "my cousin."

"your what?" you asked, slightly angry.

"my cousin. her mom...her mom has cancer, so ethan and i have been going over to their house to help them. ethan must've took a picture of us, i don't really know why. but he did, then you saw it, and saw the texts. i swear to you y/n that i have never ever cheated on you." grayson explained.

"then why the hell didn't you say that before i left?" you asked.

"you didn't give me a chance, and i didn't want to raise my voice at you, to interupt you."

"oh grayson, i'm so sorry. about her mom, and accusing you." you said, wrapping your arms around grayson's neck, pulling him down for a hug.

"it's okay. i'm sorry for not telling you." he said, running his hands up and down your back.

you pulled away, and kissed grayson softly before pulling away and smiling.

"now can i give you a ride home? ethan has dinner ready, and you need to change."

"yeah, i'd like that. thank you." you replied. grayson grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers together. he picked up his unbrella, and the two of you walked to his car.
