it was two in the morning, but you didn't care. the streets were silent, as you ran up the middle of the road. a car hadn't gone by in over ten minutes, so you weren't too worried about being hit.

your feet hurt and your lungs burned as you ran. you forced your legs to keep going, even though they felt like jello. you wanted to keep going. you thought that you could just run away from all your problems, quite literally, at least for a few hours. you had lots of unfinished homework at home, and a distant boyfriend who wouldn't answer your texts.

you and your boyfriend, ethan, woukd always go running together. but recently, ethan's been nothing but busy. you understood for a while because he does have a pretty big career with his twin brother, but you wished he spent more time with you.

you contined running, and somehow came across his neighbourhood. you hadn't even planned on coming here, but as you approached ethan's house, you ran past another late night jogger.

"y/n?" the jogger said, out of breath. you looked behind your shoulder, and saw that the jogger was your boyfriend. you turned around, and slowed down.

"hey, ethan." you said. ethan stopped running, and came over to you. the two of you started walking together.

"i wish i knew you were out here, we could've ran together." ethan said.

"you would've known, if you answered your phone." you sassed him.

"yeah, sorry about that." ethan chuckled nervously.

"honestly ethan, if you don't wanna be with me, just let me know. i'm tired of wasting both of our times."

"y/n, of course i wanna be with you."

"then start showing it, otherwise we're done." you replied, and ran away from ethan. you ran back home, and quietly shut the front door. you kicked your shoes off, and went upstairs. you sighed when you saw the large pile of exam notes on your bed, and moved them off, putting them on the floor. you then quickly changed into your pyjamas, and got into your bed.
