you awkwardly sat in the back seat of a cab with a guy your friend had set you up with. the two of you were going on a date, but the guy said it was a surprise as to where you were going.

you learned that his name was grayson, and he had a twin brother. you also knew he was twenty two, a year older than you.

the cab pulled up in front of a building that was dimly lit, but was playing loud music and had neon lights flashing inside. it looked like a bar, and you could see alot of people inside through the window.

grayson paid the cab driver, and got out. he opened the passenger door for you, and waited for you to get out.

"we're going to a party?" you asked. you had anticipated that grayson would be taking you to a restaurant, so you wore a nice dress with heels.

"yeah, is that okay?"

"well, um, parties aren't really my scene." you replied.

"come on, it'll be fun."

"seriously, no. i think i'm just gonna walk home."

"so you're just gonna leave me here?" grayson asked.

"you didn't tell me we were coming to a bar."

"but your friend said you liked parties."

"yeah, when i was like seventeen, and in high school. i've grown up alot." you said, and started walking away. just as you turned to see if any cars were coming up the road, you saw your ex boyfriend walking towards you.

"damn it." you mumbled, and turned around. you ran over to grayson. "kiss me." you said, and pressed your lips to his. he was caught off guard, but eventually kissed you back.

you had told your ex that you had moved on from him, and had a new boyfriend. you saw that your ex had done the same, as he had his arm around a girl's waist.

"oh, y/n?" you heard him say. you pulled away from grayson, and tucked a strand of hair behind behind your ear as you looked over at your ex.

"oh, hi! i wasn't expecting to see you here." you said, pretending to be surprised by his arrival.

"yeah, me either. uh this is mia [a/n: random nameee], my girlfriend." your ex said.

"and this is grayson, my boyfriend." you smiled.

"nice to meet you, grayson." your ex said as he shook grayson's hand. "good to see you, y/n." he said before walking away.

"what the hell was that?" grayson demanded.

"i'm sorry, i told him i had a boyfriend and i really didn't wanna deal with all his questions about where this so called boyfriend is." you explained.

"it's okay. how about we go on a real date?" grayson suggested.

"i'd like that." you smiled. grayson grabbed your hand, and the two of you started walking down the sidewalk in the opposite direction as your ex boyfriend.
