every morning grayson would see you walk past his house, on your way to school. you always looked so beautiful in grayson's eyes, even if you were just wearing sweatpants and a tshirt. today you were wearing light wash skinny jeans with a black long sleeved shirt. your hair was straightened, and fell neatly at your shoulders.

"gray, let's go!" grayson's twin brother, ethan, would interrupt his thoughts as he called grayson to the front door. grayson moped over to his brother. he would put his shoes on, and follow ethan out the front door.

in the car, grayson would pass by you. but he never offered you a ride. he would be too anxious if you were in the car with him. he has a bad enough time in science class, with you sitting two rows in front and to the left of his seat at the back of the room.

grayson wanted to talk to you. he craved to hear you sweet voice flow out of your mouth, saying words that were meant for him. but instead he just listened from a far, as you laughed and talked with your friends.

ethan would pull into the school parking lot, grayson almost immediately getting out of the car. even before ethan had shut the engine off.

you would be just walking up the sidewalk, towards the school. you'd walk past ethan's car, both him and grayson now walking through the parking lot.

in class, grayson would watch you as you played with your hair, and tapped your pencil against your chin. he'd imagine what it'd be like to be with you. to be able to hold you, study with you, go out to eat with you.

but grayson knew he'd never have the courage to talk to you.

and all those thoughts about being your boyfriend were simply just thoughts.

they were all in his imagination.
