staring [e]

you woke up early to sunshine flowing into your bedroom. your boyfriend had his arm across your waist, and your back against his chest. you rolled over so that you were facing him, and propped your head up on your elbow.

ethan opened one eye, but quickly shut it before you noticed.

"y/n, why are you staring?" ethan asked. his voice was raspy and laced with sleep.

"because art deserves to be looked at." you replied, with a soft voice. ethan opened both his eyes, and smiled at you.

"i guess i should be staring too then." he said.

"you're such a dork." you said with a smile.

"hey, you started it."

you and ethan stared at each other for a few minutes before he started moving around underneath the covers. he rolled over on top of you, and put his arms on either side of your shoulders.

"we should probably get up." he said.

"why?" you asked.

"because, staring at you may be nice, but it won't stop my stomach from growling, and my need to pee." ethan replied. you laughed, and hit his chest.

"go pee, i don't need to stare at you while you do that." you said.

"thanks." ethan grunted as he got off of you, and ran to the bathroom. you got out of bed, and pulled on one of ethan's hoodies. you waited outside the bathroom door for ethan. when he came out, you grabbed his hand and walked to the kitchen with him.

"is cereal okay?" ethan asked.

"cereal's perfect." you replied. ethan kissed your nose before going around the kitchen, grabbing bowls, spoons, milk, and a box of lucky charms out of the cupboard. he poured two bowls of cereal, but looked up at you halfway through.

"y/n, you're staring." ethan informed you. you had zoned out while staring at ethan's shirtless chest. you snapped back to reality and looked up at him.

"sorry." you said with an innocent smile. ethan chuckled, and brought your bowl over to you. you sat down at the kitchen island, and started eating. ethan stood at the end of the island, staring at you.

"how'd i get so lucky?" he asked.

"how'd you get so charming?"

ethan laughed. "that was a good one."

"you're a good one." you replied as you and ethan laughed at your lucky charm joke.
