you sat around the campfire, sitting in between your boyfriend's legs. he had his back up against a log. you watched as the flames flickered, and rose into the air. some of the people with you were roasting marshmellows, while most were sipping on some sort of alcoholic beverage. you had a warm beer in one hand, and your other hand on your boyfriend's knee. you played with the holes in his ripped jeans, and giggled when you stuck your hand inside one of the larger holes.

"babe, the holes are big enough." ethan chuckled in your ear. you felt his chest vibrate on your back as he laughed. you turned your head, and kissed his cheek.

"the bigger the better." you whispered. ethan's breath smelt like alcohol, but you didn't mind. you were sure yours did too. ethan kissed the top of your head, and rested his chin atop it.

you looked up at the sky, and saw just how dark it really was. the trees were dark, and covered most of the sky. you could still see some stars though, and a bit of the moon.

"does anyone know what time it is?" you mumbled, and of course no one heard you. you reached into your hoodie pocket, and pulled out your cell phone. the time read 2:34a.m. you had a few missed calls from your mom, but decided to ignore them. you put your phone back, and dumped the rest of your beer beside you.

"i wish that i could be like the cool kids...i wish that i could.." ethan mumbled the lyrics to a song, but trailed off.

"you are a cool kid." you mumbled.

"thanks." ethan mumbled in response. you started feeling really tired, and let your head fall forwards. ethan poked your cheek, and you sat up again.

"wanna go to bed?" ethan asked. you mumbled a yes, and stood up. you and ethan had plans to camp here, but forgot to set everything up. you and ethan left the area, and found his car. ethan unlocked his car, and the two of you got into the back seats. ethan laid down, and pulled you with him. he draped an arm over your waist, and you quickly fell asleep.
