After my broken meeting with Jacob, I realized there was nothing more for me in Forks. Everyone thought I was dead and if they didn't think I was dead they hated me. I shuddered thinking that me and Jake were now immortal enemies.
I walked alone now in the drizzly forest. I didn't have to worry about being spotted because I had drastically cut down the animal population, another reason I had to leave.
I walked back and forth thinking of how to find Edward. I didn't know where he was and I couldn't catch a scent that would take me a few miles out of Forks.
Leaves moved in the background, taking me away for my thoughts and making me focus on the source. I stood ready to pounce.
"Calm down Bells. don't bite a hole in my neck."
"I didn't smell you."
"Thanks, I have something you might want to hear."
"What?"
"I saw your bloodsucker today."
"Edward? where?"
"He was at Charlie's house. before Charlie nearly re-killed him he managed to say Bella's dead. that made the little leech mad, he stormed off."
"Did he say where he was going?"
"No, but the whole place smells little leech, maybe you can sniff him out."
"Thanks for this Jake."
"We're friends right?"
"Right."
I rushed him into a hug and he wrapped his hot arms around me.
"I still love you Bella, my feelings didn't change because your eyes did."
I laughed, "Jacob, you're one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I love you."
He let me go and looked me in my eyes, "promise me one thing."
"What?"
"You won't get yourself killed over this. promise me you'll come back I one piece."
"I'm a vampire Jake."
"Yeah but red-head is still out there. she might try to kill you, again. just be careful."
"You have my word."
We stood in silence for moment.
"I should go."
"Yeah you should, leech smell doesn't stay forever. bye Bells."
"See you later Jake."
I ran off in the direction towards Charlie's house, my old home. I caught Edward's scent and ran in a fury to catch him.
I had made peace with Jacob and now it was time for me to find him.
