Clashing Sun

Jake

I glided silently through the woods. the world seemed to blend into a never-ending forest of trees.

"Jake!" I called one finally time and then stopped in front of Billy's hut.

I hadn't gone undetected the wolves had gathered, smelling me long before.

"Come out you rotten blood-sucker. are you scared? coward, leave Bella and then expect everything to be fine. SHE'S DEAD!"

Before Jacob and his boys could lunge I hoped out of the woods and stood before them.

"Jake..." I whispered.

"Bella?" he asked in a shocked tone and then his face went stoic. "that leech broke the treaty by changing you."

"It wasn't him, I don't know where Edward is."

"Then who was it?"

"I don't know, some vampire not from here."

I gave him a quick look with my amber eyes and like Jake he rushed me into a hug.

"You stink bells."

"You smell like wet dog Jake."

"So you're not dead?"

"I am, but I'm.....I'm....it's complicated."

"So you staying in Forks long?"

"I...was going to look for Edward."

He hissed and let go of me before he spat.

"Bella that blood-sucking leech has made you a target. you wouldn't be dead right now if it weren't for him, and you still want to go?"

"Jake....I.....I love him."

"And I love you Bella and I thought we liked each other, but I guess it took a vampire bite for you to realize who you really want."

"Jake.."

"No, it's fine Bells. you should go, Charlie is here with Billy."

"Jacob."

"Have a nice life Bella."
